About: I’m a proud owner of a crazy dog and a wannabe independent cat, and I’ve been pet sitting for most of my neighbors, taking their dogs on walks, and making sure all of their animals are fed and have had some time to play! I love all animals and I can handle anything from the most energetic puppy to a grumpy cat. I’m something of a pet whisperer I’m currently in highschool, so my scheduling for the next couple months is Monday-Thursday after 1:45pm, Fridays after 12:15, Saturdays after 3:15, and anytime Sunday I can stop by once a day or multiple times a day depending on what is desired in order to feed, check on water, take on walks, or just to get some play time in. Also super down to just keep your pets company for a while, because I know some of them miss their people.

I truly love taking care of all kinds of animals, I have had dogs and cats all my life and I am attuned to their needs and varying personalities. I have 5 years professional pet sitting experience and I been a dog mom to large dogs for 10+ years. Brian has been a dog parent to large dogs for 30 years. We are always the person that my friends, co-workers and neighbors come to when their dogs or cats need care. We both love spending time outside in nature, hiking, and keeping an active lifestyle your pet will enjoy. We want to know what would make a fun and happy stay for your dog. We live in the fog belt along the coast so it stays nice and cool here when its hot everywhere else. Your dog's sleeping arrangement: We to keep your dogs patterns as close to the way they are at home as possible. If your dog sleeps in their own bed or crate we will honor that. Typically their bed is in our room or the living room. We allow dogs on our bed, and have a dedicated dog couch so they can relax in the living room and are treated like a member of the family. My partner Brian’s schedule has recently changed so we can only board weekends, or possibly over a long weekend: We can take a Friday evening drop off at 5pm earliest, and can schedule a Monday morning pickup until 10 am or so. We live in a quiet, low-traffic beach neighborhood of Aptos, with a front and back fenced in yard, a two minute walk to a dog friendly beach, and 5 minute drive to a redwoods state park. The backyard is shared with my awesome neighbor who own a dog. The backyard has a fence that is split down the middle, and he is kept on his side of the fence. He is only let outside occasionally, under supervised conditions. We do not allow guests dogs into the backyard when he is present, until we have had time to properly introduce them. He is friendly, but we always take care to introduce dogs. Our front yard has a low fence so our guest dogs are only allowed in the front yard under supervision, the backyard has a much higher fence, and we have a sliding glass door so they can go outside easily. We can crate your dog if needed. Both yards have shade, flower gardens, and are wonderful places to take a nap in the sun.

“Nora is a GIFT! About a year ago my now 14 year-old cat Riley abruptly lost a significant amount of weight and bloodwork showed some kind of significant liver event though nothing was evident in an XRAY or ultrasound. He was prescribed two ongoing medications to support his liver & reduce inflammation; a small pill that needs to absorb during a fast (no food for 2 hours before and 1 hour after) and a liquid medication that needs to be given with food. In addition to the with/without food medications complexity, successfully pilling a cat every day requires a deft hand—pretty straightforward for someone who’s good at it, increasingly difficult each day for anyone who isn’t. Add to the equation both Riley and his brother Ash are initially shy with strangers. All things considered to me the situation seemed like a complicated ask for a pet sitter, so over the past year I hadn’t gone away on any trips longer than 2-3 days. In the face of a terminal illness diagnosis in my direct family I came to terms with having to hope for the best using a pet sitter for an 8 day family vacation though I was very concerned about how Riley would be affected by the extended change in routine. Enter Nora; highly intelligent, highly *attuned* (to the pets & the people), instantly trustworthy, and very gracious, a rare combination of total professionalism & grounded compassion. Though Nora was only here for about an hour each day her presence *visibly improved* Riley’s health. I didn’t know it was possible to come home from being away for 8 days to find Riley noticeably fluffier and more energetic than when I left, but that’s the magic that unfolded under Nora’s care. She also sent me pictures of Riley and Ash every day and let me know how they were each doing, sharing her sophisticated curiosity & creativity getting Riley to eat more and Ash to gradually come out of his shyness with clear warmth towards both of them. It’s extremely clear Nora *truly cares* and is keenly observant and exceptionally competent, a combination that made it possible for me to relax so much more on my trip. About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life. I’ve lived with and cared for dogs of all sizes, temperaments and needs, and love them all the same! My current dog, Arlo, is a smaller pittie mix rescue, and the most important thing to me in the world. I’m hoping to extend my love for animals to families whose pets need some extra cuddles. More than that, I am happy to help with bathing, nail clipping, and other grooming/routines. I have not only gained experience from having dogs of my own, but walked and fed dozens of dogs at a shelter in my hometown where I volunteered for several years. I also volunteered at a rabbit shelter for a couple years. I have experience house sitting for folks with dogs and other pets (rabbits, reptiles, cats) and had a bearded dragon of my own for 12 years named Turtle. I look forward to meeting your pals! I am currently a student, part-time nanny and circus teacher. I am looking for folks in my area who need occasional walks, house sitting or pet sitting. About: I have loved cats and dogs forever and have had cats for 25 years. I have taken care of friends’ dogs and cats since I was a teenager. I am kind, and will treat your beloved pet like my own. My cat passed away last year and I am not yet ready for a permanent addition to my home. I am working full-time, however I have hybrid schedule. In the summer I work one day in the office and the rest from home. During the rest of the year I work three days a week in the office and two days from home, however, I can make flexible arrangements as well, I live in an apartment on a quiet street and about a 10 minute walk to the beach. I have a litter box, toys and scratching post for cats. I have food bowls, soft blankets as well.

She switched him to a bland chicken/rice diet (that she cooked for him!) and kept a close eye to make sure he bounced back quickly. As always, she was in touch everyday with photo and video updates. About: Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! Let's start at the beginning: My mother was a vet tech, so I basically grew up around animals. I've been dog sitting/walking for friends and family since I was 16 and have always found it to be a rewarding experience. This past year I became certified as a dog trainer in an effort to expand my knowledge of animal behaviors. I have definitely found this new knowledge to be extremely helpful with my business as a whole, not just with training. I currently have a Golden Retriever puppy named Calcifer. He's a little fireball and brings joy to my life every day! I'm a very friendly and outgoing individual with keen attention to detail. Your dog will be in great hands with me. “It’s been a while since we’ve wanted to travel and had to think about boarding our dogs. We recently found Steve and did a meet and greet and it was very obvious that our pups were comfortable with him and he was comfortable with them. We booked a one day stay as a trial and our dogs clearly had a blast. Our dogs were so much happier having spent a day with Steve than being stuck alone at home. Highly recommended!”
