Amber was a pleasure to work with. She communicated even minor updates, cared so much that she cleaned up a small excitement piddle on the floor, and other things she noticed as things to be aware of. She was kind enough to also move a delivered package indoors for us. We absolutely look forward to future care with Amber as the need arises.

Kayti has been great for Snoop. She walked him this week while I was having construction done at my home. She went above and beyond as there was an incident and she stay longer to ensure he was ok. I’m so thankful for her professionalism and care.

About: I'm super flexible, and welcome all sizes and ages like they are my own! For all my life I have loved animals and I have experience with all types of animals, but dogs are my soft spot:) I have a lot of knowledge (and have done years of research) on dog behavior and cues, handling, etc! I like to prioritize pet sitting! Because of that, I am free 6 days out of the week to do drop ins or walks for your fur baby: Monday✅, Tuesday✅, Wednesday✅, Thursday✅, Friday✅ I have a nice big fenced yard! And a friendly, sweet, & small Yorkie-Poodle mix dog, she's 8 years old and gets along very well with dogs and cats (she is spayed!). I have my license and own car, so I'll even take your furry friend to the dog park or on nature trails with me! (Unless told not to) I am also able to come to you:)

About: I love being around dogs and treat them as family, as they should be! I currently have 3 fur babies, two back labs who are brother and sister and a pitbull. They are my world and I will treat your dogs as such as well. Every dog deserves love and cuddles! I've worked with puppies through senior dogs and understand that every pup has its own personality and needs. I have experience giving medication as my girl receives daily meds for her Addisons. I love being active with dogs whether that's playing catch in the backyard, tug-o-war or going on long walks. I can't wait to meet your dog! I currently work from home so if I'm staying at your place of residence for an extended stay your family member will receive all the attention needed during the days. I have experience crating dogs if needed while I stay at your home. Because I work remotely I'll be able to play with and walk your pet throughout the day.

About: I cared for puppies all the way up to geriatric dogs, providing love, exercise, companionship, nutrition, comfort, safety, enrichment, routine, attention, socialization, and support for them. I am currently available evenings during the week and all day Saturday and Sunday. I have plenty of time to care for your lovely pets. I am an active, animal-loving person excited to offer a safe, caring environment for your beloved pets. Although my yard isn’t fenced, I always keep dogs on a leash when outdoors to ensure their safety. I live in a wonderful, dog-friendly community with plenty of scenic walking paths—perfect for getting fresh air and exercise. I've shared my life with two incredible dogs who each lived happy, healthy lives to the age of 18 before crossing the rainbow bridge. Their memory inspires me to continue giving love and care to other animals. I'd be honored to look after your sweet fur baby and treat them like part of my family while you’re away.

About: Growing up, my parents frequently relied on me to take care of our rat terriers while they were at work - this includes feeding them, taking them out for potty breaks before/ after school, playing with them, etc. Because I’ve been around rat terriers I’m very familiarized with their personalities and high energy levels. I also have experience walking pitbulls and Great Pyrenees breeds, as my boyfriends parents used to own both breeds and I would walk them frequently (: - I also have experience with giving medications to dogs; one of my rat terriers has bad seasonal allergies and receives medication (a liquid) daily with his dinner. Another one of my rat terriers suffered from seizures and would have to receive medication with her food as well. I am comfortable caring for dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and needs. I understand the importance of maintaining consistent routines and ensuring pets feel safe and cared for. I’m currently working a full time job, however I don’t start work until 2:45pm everyday (off days are Fridays and Saturdays). When I work Sunday-Thursday I’m available to drop in at least one early morning, I can do another drop in in the early afternoon, and another drop in when I get off if needed (I get off at 11pm). On my days off - Friday and Saturdays - I can do numerous drop ins throughout the day. Anytime between early morning to late night. I have two cats of my own. Both are tabby cats, but they have very different personalities. Bean, who is an orange long haired cat, is very skittish, loves to play, enjoys pets but hates being picked up. While Franklin, is a grey short hair, loves cuddles, being next to his people, and would rather play with Bean than his humans. We got Franklin when he was 8 weeks old from my boyfriend’s brother and we fostered then adopted Bean when he was 12 weeks old (about 6 months after getting Franklin). We discovered Franklin loves going outside, so we bought him a cat harness and leash and frequently take him on walks (: Bean is too skittish for this, but he loves to play inside with toy mice and springs (ESPECIALLY springs, those are his favorite 😅)

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and I’m comfortable with all kinds of personalities and energy levels. I’m reliable, easy to communicate with, and I’ll make sure your dog gets lots of attention, walks, and care while you’re away. I’m a recent PA school graduate who is looking to walk dogs this summer before starting my new job! My schedule is very flexible throughout the week. I try to keep pets comfortable by sticking to their normal routine as much as possible. In your home, I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention, walks, playtime, food, water, and any other care they need while keeping your space clean and respected.

About: From dogs to cats (and even a bearded dragon), I've done it all. I understand how nerve racking it can be to leave your animal with someone you barely know so I'll do the following to make sure you can feel confident your pets are being well taken care of while you're away: - Multiple updates throughout the day confirming eating and bathroom habits - Pictures of the activities we've been up to - A detailed daily plan developed to make sure we never miss a beat with their normal routine Reach out so we can develop a plan that meets your needs! Im free for walks after work during week days which is typically around 5 PM (depending if I'm working from home or on-site). On Thursday and Friday, I have midday availability depending on travel distance - reach out and we can talk through details! I'm much more free on weekends so with notice I can make just about anything work! As an owner of a very large (German Shepard/Great Pyr mix) dog, I'm very familiar with the worries of a pet parent. I will treat your animal like my own and can handle even the largest of them (including pullers and reactive dogs).

About: I passed the VTNE in 2022 and have had my vet tech license for 3 years now. About: I have been a Rover pet sitter since 2023. I will care for cats, small to medium dogs, and small animals. Cats are my speciality. I am also available for dog-walking and dog mid-day let-out. As for small animals, I have experience with guinea pigs, bunnies, and fish. If I haven't had experience with a type of small animal before, please give me very specific instructions and I will thoroughly research the animal and its care before the booking. In my lifetime, I have lived with five cats and four dogs, was the primary caregiver for two cats and my many fish, and helped to care for the other animals throughout their lifespans. Growing up, I attended three summers of horse camp at Camp Kici Yapi and also had one year of English riding lessons. As a young adult, I volunteered at the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire. I have experience with administering tablet, liquid, topical, and eye drop medications, and have been vet-trained to give injected medication such as insulin. I also have experience with specialized diets and with various special needs, and have cared for animals while they were having medical issues. If your pet has some degree of aggression issues, please describe it in your message so I can better determine if I am qualified to care for your pet. Please note that Rover may tell you that I am not available on dates when I actually am if another client is pending a Meet and Greet for a booking with any of the same dates, even if there are no overlapping time slots. Pet sitting is now my full-time job. I have an open schedule and am available from 8am-9pm every day of the week. I am studying to become a translator and I have Japanese lessons three days a week in the evening, but the system has me book time slots every week that can vary, and usually I have enough notice from a client to book the lessons around my pet sitting schedule. However, if I am given shorter notice, I may not be able to move around the lesson times and may have to fulfill an evening visit at an altered time on a particular day. When I arrive for drop-in visits, I hold my supply bag in front of me as I enter the door to prevent cats from escaping. For evening visits, I may also leave a light on at the entrance as another measure against an escape. I store all keys in a designated bag and label them when necessary; I avoid opening the key bag inside the car, where keys could fall into difficult-to-reach places in the car. I maintain the cleanliness of the food and water dishes and litter box each day and clean up any accidents, vomit, or hairballs that I find. If I need to administer oral or topical medication to a shy cat, I will need you to close the doors to certain rooms in the house where the cat can get into more difficult hiding places, and may even need to keep the cat isolated to one room. I will handle old, frail animals more delicately, particularly if I need to grab them for a medication.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Anoka

Danielle is a caring, skilled, and patient dog walker. Today was the first time for walking both of my dogs together, one of which is not as "seasoned" of a walker as the other. After a noisy start (my dog barked for a bit), Danielle handled both dogs like a pro and they had a successful walk. I have complete trust in Danielle that, when she leaves with my dogs, she'll return them to me happy, tired and ready for a nap ;-) KUDOS to Danielle!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Anoka. On Rover:

  • 93% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
