“Brooke was an exceptional dog sitter. We have a giant 2 year old, attention seeking puppy, and Brooke went above and beyond to care for him. She not only took amazing care of our puppy, but she also left our house neat and tidy. She arrived on time and was very thorough with all of the details. We will definitely ask Brooke back to our home to care for our boy.”

“Kevin was really great with my trio of Dogs: medium, small and smaller. He gave meds and did all the things they like to do. He was very flexible with me in the flurry of getting out of town. I recommend him highly!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats of all sizes since I was little. I grew up with animals my whole life. When I turned 13, my neighbors would ask me to take care of their dogs and/or cats when they were gone. Whether it was feeding and letting them out or going on walks and cleaning the cat litter box or even giving them medication. I am currently enrolled at the University of Minnesota, majoring in Animal Science with a Pre-Veterinary focus. My spring semester schedule is fairly full during the week due to classes. I am unavailable on Mondays and Tuesdays, as I have classes all day. I am typically available after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and after 6:00 p.m. on Sundays. Unfortunately, I’m not available on Fridays or Saturdays, as I work long shifts both days. I’d be happy to help care for your pets during the times I’m available! I make sure that my dog is safe and happy at all times, I will hold the same standards for your pets. I am able to crate any dogs that need to be in their crate throughout the day, I can clean up any messes they make.
“We had a great experience with Jennifer! She stayed at our house for 5 days to watch our dog Joe and took excellent care of him the entire time. She provided frequent updates, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Joe is an anxious dog but was very comfortable having her around. On top of that, she left the house just as clean as she found it. Would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful sitter!”

“Alex is fabulous with our two pups one of which is very anxious and reactive. We just traveled out of state for a week and she stayed at our house with the dogs, she provided great updates and the pups and house are in great shape upon our return!”

“Stefan was the perfect match for our older Lab. He was so kind and attentive that I felt at ease leaving her in his care. Additionally, he kept in touch the whole week and sent pics which made me happy. Lastly, our home was I clean and orderly as if we were only gone 5 minutes! Stefan is such an amazing guy we feel lucky to have found him.”

“Tanya was great! Penny, my golden doodle adored her. We got frequent updates and updates and pictures of Penny. My house was spotless when I got home. We will definitely ask Tanya to watch our Penny again!! Thank you Tanya!❤️”

“It's always a good sign when the pups are happy to see you, and also sad to see Erin go. Erin always takes wonderful care of my pups and they are always sad to see her go!”

“We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Amber! We have multiple pets, including a very fickle and sometimes difficult Newfie, and she handled everything so patiently and confidently. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pets were being cared for by someone who truly understood them and took the time to make them comfortable. She provided frequent updates, pictures, and communication throughout the stay, which we appreciated so much. It was obvious our pets were getting lots of attention, care, and love while we were away. Coming home to happy, relaxed animals says everything. We will absolutely book again and highly recommend Amber to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and compassionate sitter — especially if you have large breeds or dogs with unique personalities!”

“Kelly was extremely flexible to our needs with four dogs and a cat, and accepting of our changes with little to no notice. She sent pictures throughout the day and updates about how they spent their time together. She even started the laundry and dishwasher before leaving to ensure a clean house for us when we returned, which was greatly appreciated!”

“Peggy watched our dog for us for a week while we were on vacation. Our pup has anxiety, and Peggy did a great job helping Ember feel safe and be calm while we were gone. She also gave our dog her medications as we had asked. Along with taking great care of our dog and sending us daily updates and pictures, she was very respectful of our home and she even watered my flowers and shrubs for me! 10/10, would definitely hire Peggy again.”

“Autumn was incredible! She had 5 star communication and provided an incredible experience for our dog while we were out of town! Highly recommend and hope to book with her again!”

About: I have experience working with all kinds of animals! I have a tortoise, four ducks, and three dogs at home. I’ve had many other animals in the past! I’m currently working part-time split shifts at an elementary school. Because of this, I’ll have time to stop by multiple times a day, as much as needed! I’m able to provide whatever you will need for me to best take care of your pets! I’m able to do multiple drop in visits during the day
“Our dog loved Jade, and it was his first time being with a new adult. She came and met the dog first and was super punctual and great with our dog. Clearly a pro at this!”

“Tierney was wonderful! Did in home pet sitting for my puppy and 2 cats. Sent lots of updates, photos, and was more than happy to accommodate last minute extra things. Our house was left so clean you couldn’t even tell she was there. Would happily have her back!”

“Aida was Awesome!!! Her communication was top notch with pictures and updates daily during our entire trip. Receiving Aida’s updates became a highlight of each day we were away. The photos and messages really allowed the entire family to enjoy our vacation more because we knew our guys were happy and doing well. We will be checking her availability for future travel when our pets aren’t able to go along.”

Michelle house sat for our cats while we were on vacation and we never once worried about how they were doing. She shared nice updates and pics every day, kept up with their meds, and took great care of our house! She is a top-tier cat sitter and we would trust her to look after them again in a heartbeat!

We had a great experience with Camryn! Great communication from start to finish. While we were away, she sent us updates on our pets day as well as pictures. House was very clean when we returned home as well. Would definitely rebook again and would recommend.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Anoka walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Anoka maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Anoka choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
