“Alice was wonderful--very professional and knew a lot about handling a strong willed dog like my Fergus. She was great in communicating with my husband who was working in his office and sending me updates while I was in another country. And most of all...Fergus loved her and would gladly have her as his sitter again! Thanks so much and hope I can use you in the future!”

“Lilly is the dog-whisperer! My dogs are so happy to see her, and she has such a skilled way of handling their enthusiasm. I am so glad to be able to trust her with my pets.”

“Jessica is absolutely lovely, warm, upbeat, reliable. She has been walking my dog regularly and has an incredibly sweet rapport with him. He adores her and we are so so grateful to have found her.”
“Katherine far exceeded any expectations I had for my dog’s care. Katherine always changed the water and put out a lunch I would leave for my dog as well as a biscuit when she left…Katherine gave nice long walks and was always on time and usually gave more than the normal 30 minutes! Sadie loved her…I’ll be using Katherine again!”

“Lisa is great! My pup is a big boy and I was at ease knowing that Lisa is animal trainer/ horse person and would be able to handle him. We are amped that we have found her!”

“Arsen was a standout house sitter! He was incredibly attentive and took the time to get to know our pets and our home’s needs. Our cat and dog were in great hands, and we never had to worry while we were away—which is everything you could ask for in a house sitter. Thank you, Arsen!”

“Sofia was so gentle and patient with my skittish rescue dog! Ellie felt safe with her right away and even cuddled up a bit on the first visit. We will definitely be spending more time with Sofia! She’s wonderful.”

“This was Cassandra’s first time meeting Ellie and Mia, and she was fantastic! Although Ellie and Mia can be shy around new people, they warmed up to Cassandra right away and had a wonderful walk with her. I’d feel confident having her walk or dog-sit for them anytime.”

About: I've taken care of my grand dog Daisy many weekends while my kids are on vacation. I've dog sat for small and big dogs at my home for many years. Since I am retired, I am able to tend to your pets needs 24/7. I have a very flexible schedule and I am a very active person that will take your dog out for many walks. “Rosalie has been so lovely to work with. Our recently adopted dog struggles with separation anxiety and Rosalie has been willing to work with us to slowly build her confidence so that we can eventually leave her overnight. We are very grateful for her help, patience, and support!”

About: I offer drop-in visits, dog walking, and overnight house sitting for cats or dogs, and I’m happy to provide daily exercise, playtime, feeding, and medication support as needed. Whether your pet loves long walks, quiet companionship, or consistent routines, I tailor my care to fit their needs and personality. I grew up with mid-size dogs and frequently watched smaller dogs for family friends in Pittsburgh. After moving upstate, I became a devoted cat dad to my black cat, Lola, for four years. Since then, I’ve cared for cats of all ages, including seniors with specific feeding and medication schedules. I'm attentive and responsive to every animal’s unique rhythm. I currently work remotely as a freelancer, which gives me the flexibility to drop in or house-sit for quality time with your pets during the day. I enjoy staying active and love being outdoors—so your dog will always get a good walk (and a happy walking buddy!). For overnight stays, I treat every home and pet with the respect and care I’d want for my own. I pride myself on being responsible, respectful, and kind—treating every home and animal as if my own. As a freelancer who works remotely, I have a flexible schedule that lets me give your pets the attention they deserve. I’m also available for house sitting and overnights provided there's stable wifi. I am a trustworthy house sitter/ walker who priotizes clear communication on expectations and house standards. I do not offer pet care from my own home.
“Kacey came to walk our pup Lotte on Thanksgiving, Lotte was very excited to have the company and Kacey even sent us some pics of the cats as well who came downstairs to say hello! Would hire Kacey again!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for more than 14 years and understand how much trust it takes to leave both a beloved pet and your home in someone else’s care. I have experience with dogs of different ages and personalities, including senior dogs, and I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime, basic care, and oral medications. I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I know that every pet is different, so I prefer to follow the routines and rules they already know rather than suddenly changing their world while their family is away. I also have professional experience working in private residences in Manhattan, where reliability, discretion, attention to detail, and respect for someone’s home were essential. I bring that same attitude to pet sitting. When I stay in your home, I treat your space carefully and respectfully and make sure you return to it just as you left it. Most importantly, I want you to be able to leave knowing that your pet is safe, comfortable, loved, and in responsible hands. I’m also happy to send regular photos and updates so you can enjoy your time away without worrying about what’s happening at home. My schedule is currently flexible, which allows me to give pets plenty of time and attention rather than simply stopping by and rushing off. I’m available for weekday and weekend care, including longer house-sitting stays. I can plan my day around your pet’s usual feeding, walking, play, and rest schedule. When I’m house sitting, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and familiar as possible while you’re away. Trust is extremely important to me. When you invite me into your home, I understand that you are trusting me with two things that matter enormously to you: your pet and your personal space. I carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, doors and gates, sleeping arrangements, and household routines. I never introduce a pet to unfamiliar animals or take them somewhere without the owner’s permission. I also treat every client’s home with the same care and respect I would want someone to show in mine. My experience working in private residences has taught me the importance of discretion, cleanliness, security, and attention to detail. I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos, and I will always contact you if anything seems unusual.
About: I grew up with pets my whole life. I believe pets aren’t just pets, but family. They deserve great care, attention, love and most importantly great companionship. I have several years experience home/pet sitting which involves bathing, grooming and cleaning. Previously was a pet bather at PetSmart. I am gentle, kind, fun and loving! Here to help with all your pet needs! Trust your fur-babies with someone you can count on! Available to book stays, drop ins and walks! I do work a full-time job but will do my best to accommodate your needs. I am knowledgable with leashes, harnesses, and collars. I am very neat and pay close attention to routines and individual needs. I am very communicative with pet parents while I care for the fur-babies! I am always willing to provide client with photos or videos whenever they want to check on their pets.
“Jessica was fantastic! She took great care of our dog and was conscientious, prompt and communicative. We will happily ask her to take care of Maddox in the future. Thanks Jessica!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a kid. People rely on me to take care of their dogs like feed them and bathe them and play with them and walk them and make sure they’re well loved It will only be me working with the dogs, I don’t need any other assistance with other people. I do work a full-time job, but I have flexible time before or after work so I’ll be able to take care of your dogs or cats. The best days are Monday through Saturday, Monday - Wednesday would be in the morning and Thursday - Saturday would be in the afternoon/evening. We have a fenced in yard at our house and we like to play fetch with our dogs, especially in the nice weather. They even love the snow. We do crate train our one dog so if your dogs need to be crated, I am able to do so. Our dogs are on the schedule for their food so if your dogs are too, I understand and can follow that schedule. And we give them lots of love so your dog(s) will be loved too.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
