About: I was raised in a positive pet friendly family environment and had my own dogs and cats for more than twenty years. I can handle large, medium, and small dogs and will look to give them long walks and lots of exercise as a good dog is a tired dog. I work full-time but have plenty of free time during the week and on weekends to feed, walk, play fetch, or just hang out with your dog. About: My own dogs are always the #1 teacher. They show me how to best care for them - with food, play, training, medications, travel, sleepless days and nights when they've been ill, and giving them all them comfort I can. I've volunteered at dog shelters, spent hours walking dogs in all kinds of weather, and offered comfort to friends who've had to say goodbye to their best fur friends. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule that allows me to give your pets plenty of attention - playing, feeding, and scratching behind the ears. I take my dog for swims in the river, off leash romps in the woods, and leashed walks around town. We also play fetch and tug-of-war in the house or on the deck. I find so much pleasure in forming bonds with animals, even for short periods of time. I love to volunteer and have done so at local SPCAs and even at a zoo in Peru that held practically every type of animal! I myself have owned many cats, raising two since they were kittens. I grew up around dogs as well and they grew to be my best friends through hard times. I even owned a pig and chickens! No matter the species, I would be beyond excited to meet your pet and be a helping hand. I am currently on the job hunt, so I am extremely available. I am free everyday, no matter the time. I have a car as well! I have a litter box and will bring your pet into a cozy environment that can be shifted depending on their needs. About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.

I have a Hungarian Vizsla back home, who is essentially a hunting dog—and I enjoy seeing her tired at the end of the day. I have recently graduated from Bard College. About: My name is Jayden and I've been taking care of my own pets for years. From my antisocial low energy mutt that I trained to be a therapy dog and acted as a therapy dog for 3 years to my high energy high-maintenance senior German shorthaired pointer as well as every dog from a beagle to a great Dane. I also had a cat that I helped raise from a kitten to fully grown tuxedo cat. I love animals and they seem to love me back; I would love a chance to love your pets!! About: I was raised in a positive pet friendly family environment and had my own dogs and cats for more than twenty years. I can handle large, medium, and small dogs and will look to give them long walks and lots of exercise as a good dog is a tired dog. I work full-time but have plenty of free time during the week and on weekends to feed, walk, play fetch, or just hang out with your dog. I am happy to come to your home and walk your dog and or play at a local dog park, I am familiar with dogs from Yorkshire Terriers and Kings Charles Spaniels to Rottweilers and German Shepards.

“Marika was amazing! Feel very fortunate to have gotten her on short notice. My Viszla mix Susie loved her immediately. Marika took her on lots of walks (with tick check afterwards), sent updates, and her house/backyard space were perfect for an active breed. She went above and beyond when it came to making sure Susie was stimulated, making up little games for her to play with the squirrels and rabbits. Anytime I'm in the area I'll definitely be looking to book with Marika.”
