“Amber was absolutely phenomenal with my kitty! This was my first time using Rover and I was definitely nervous dropping off my cat with someone, but Amber eased any stress I had. She sent lots of photos and videos and kept me updated throughout the days while I was gone. She put out all of the toys that I brought for her and I could tell that she really took the time to keep my cat entertained :) I highly recommend Amber for any pet sitting needs! I will definitely be rebooking for my next vacation!”

“Emily took great care of Mario while we were out of town. She was super comfortable with our very excited dog from the first time they met, and communicated with pictures and texts during his stay. Mario had a great time with them and his new friend, Skeeter! We absolutely won't hesitate to send Mario to Emily for future visits!”

“I would definitely recommend Melvin and Sean! This was our first time leaving our baby Charlie. As someone who deals with anxiety it wasn't an easy thing for me to do. However they made me feel completely at ease and assured me that he was safe and well taken care of. The photo updates they sent throughout the stay helped so much and truly gave me peace of mind. I’m so grateful for the wonderful care they provided! We will definitely use them again.”

“Jake and Alicia took great care of my old fluffer - including tips on how to take care of his dry nose! Thanks for all your efforts in making him as welcome and comfortable as possible!”

“Tatyana was absolutely amazing. We got the best photos and updates and it made me feel so much better about being away from our pup! He felt so comfortable there with her cute pup Biscuit-I’m pretty sure he wanted to move in! We will definitely be bringing Bernie back there again. He was in the BEST hands!!!! We love Tatyana!!!!”

“Maggie and her family were incredible while taking care of Teddy for a week while we were on vacation. They treated him like one of their own, and we could tell Teddy was completely comfortable being at their home. She provided excellent communication, and sent us daily updates on how our little guy was doing. Teddy loved playing with Luna, and he'll probably miss that interaction. We would absolutely recommend Maggie and family!”

“Our Happy had a very successful and positive stay with Tracy. As a first time user of Rover, we were very fortunate to find Tracy! She arranged a meet and greet, explained her set up, introduced her family and pets to us and our dog, and answered many questions for us (this was Happy's first boarding experience). All went very well, she sent daily reports and fun pictures. This allowed us to enjoy our time away even more, knowing our pup was in good hands (and laps) 😊. We plan to reach out to Tracy each time we need boarding for our Happy, highly recommend!”

“Charles, Casity and family did a wonderful job taking care of our dog! He felt comfortable from the moment he entered their home. Communication was great and they kept us updated with videos and pictures throughout the stay. We highly recommend them!”

“Renee was fantastic for Tycho! She sent videos of him during his stay, was accommodating of our arrival time, and it was clear Tycho had a great time. Definitely would recommend her!”

“I was so pleased with Amanda (and her family’s) care of my two pups when I was gone. I had a last minute, 7 day trip come up and all of my regulars were booked. I was a little nervous using a new person on such short notice, for a longer stint. When I met Amanda, her family, and dog Oso my worries were quickly relieved. I had the warmest Rovwr experience I’ve had yet just during the meet and greet. Amanda asked lots of questions to make the stay go as smoothly as possible, and sent frequent updates and pictures. Amanda’s two kids were very gentle and loving to my little dogs as well. I am grateful I found Amanda on such short notice!”

“Ohara and her family took great care of our baby dog! He was so happy and content all the time in the pictures. We are very thankful for the love and care you gave Levi and would come back again. Thank you!”

“Molly was wonderful!! She was communicative (I loved the daily updates with photos) and did so much to keep our dog busy and exercised. She came home extra tired and extra happy. Would definitely recommend!”

“Sabrina provided a safe and loving environment for our fur baby. She communicated with us several times a day and sent pics and videos so we could see how well Sydney was doing. We will definitely plan to board our pup with her again!”

“I couldn't have been more pleased and happy with the love and care this family has shown my puppy Molly! Its the 1st time we have had to leave her and I was so nervous about it but they really made me feel Totally at ease & kept me well informed the whole time! I could see from the pictures they sent me that Molly was as happy as could be! Will definitely be using Jayme & John again!!! They truly ARE dog loving people- no doubt about that!!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
