“Geneva is a very patient pet sitter! I had a bit of trouble with my booking and she helped me through it and never made me feel bad about it. Would definitely recommend her and use her services again.”

“Erin has been absolutely AMAZING for us and our sweet boxer puppy! We have needed a pet sitter for the first 2 months having our puppy and Erin has gone above and beyond with her. She takes her on walks, plays with her, socializes her with others, makes sure she has plenty of food and water and is just everything we could have asked for in a pet sitter, we HIGHLY recommend!!!”

“Lindsey did a great job loving on our baby while we were gone. She even brought in our packages which we were super grateful for. We will 100% use her the next time we are out of town!”

“Anna is very kind and took great care of our cat Lola. She’s also very professional and great with communication. We’ll definitely check with Anna on her availability the next time we need a sitter.”

About: ***UPDATE: Starting AUGUST 1, 2024**** - Address change - Lead family member contact change -Price change If you are a past client then you know that our WHOLE family is a part of caring for your dog, and it's never a dull moment. With all the different personalities in our family, your dog is sure to bond with one. I, Jennifer, am taking sometime off and my Sister, Frances will take lead. I (along with my family) have been fostering dogs with a local dog rescue group in Houston and have worked with many dogs to nurse them back to health and prepare them for their new forever homes :-) Each dog has its own personality and I have even gone through training to help me and the dogs learn together. I'm happy to say that all of the dogs I have fostered have found homes and their new owners just adored them!!!! I enjoy walking , cuddling, playing or whatever activity fits your dog. I'm equipped with a water bottle and doggy poop bags for hot Houston walks. I'm a dog person and really just enjoy dogs. It makes me feel good to help a dog live a better life! I'm all about it! “Elmer was very helpful on everything we asked for, consistent on updates. Our dog was well taken care of. Would recommend him for anybody looking for someone needing his services.”

About: Hi, my name is Marissa! Aside from taking care of a cat, dog, and two guinea pigs growing up, I have the experience and training from being with a pet sitting company for 3 years and working on my own after that for 4. I was the cat specialist with the company and had high ratings from all my clients. I’ve cared for dogs/cats of all sizes and breeds and I’ve even taken care of Axolotl’s! I’ve also administered meds, as well as eye drops, for dogs and cats. I’ve got the skills and knowledge of care to be your next pet sitter! I’m currently off for the summer since I am an educator so I have time for visits! The schedule is flexible at the moment and I have availability. I care for my clients pets in their home by making sure their pets’ routine is followed and they have everything they need. I know sometimes pets can get anxious when their pet parents are away, so I make sure to go at the pets pace with what attention they’re comfortable with!

“We had such a wonderful experience with Alexis. She took such great care of our babies while we were away and gave us so much peace of mind. She made sure they were well loved, kept active with walks, and stayed on their normal routine. One of our favorite things was the pictures she sent! We absolutely loved getting updates and seeing how happy and comfortable our pups were. It meant so much to know they were in such good hands. We truly appreciate the care and attention she gave them and would definitely trust her again in the future. Highly recommend! 🐾💛”

“I am really happy to have found Joshua here. We first met for a Meet&Greet and he was very professional and receptive. Joshua was great with Merida on her first drop-in visit. I could tell she was happy when I got home because he played a lot with her. Communication is great, he always answers all my questions right away and lets me know if Merida has potty. I will continue our recurrent services. Thank you Joshua.”

About: I am 32 years old and I have always had at least one dog/cat for as long as I can remember. I have always said yes to strays and brought them in to my home and loved them from the start. I'm a very big animal lover and treat them as my kids. I make sure they get the care and love they deserve. I've done drop in visits multiple times for family members when they go out of town. I'll stop and feed them and walk them. I currently work part time but my schedule is very flexible. I’m available for boarding on the weekends, during the week can be arranged sometimes. We I have a big fenced backyard with a pool that your pup can use & a 7y old Labrador with puppy energy to play with!
About: I’ve been caring for pets since I was a child. I use to pet-sit for my parents friends dog/cat. My current pets are treated like my kids, and I have an array of cats and dogs. All of my cats adapted me, and become part of my family. I always talk to them, as if they were a human child. I’m a Huge animal Lover! I will break for a turtle crossing or rescue animal left on a highway. I’m a full time Graduate student, studying Clinical Social work. I am an advocate for animal and human rights. My schedule is flexible and I can be available in times of emergencies. I feed my fur babies in order, cats first then my dogs. The dogs are in order. This prevents quarrels amongst each other. They are conditioned to go to their designated feeding are. I watch all of them eat. Cat boxes are always cleaned before feeding time. The dogs go to their rooms (aka kennel) and wait to go outside, one or two at a time to poop/pee. They can take a good while, but they always let me know when they are ready to come back, inside my home. I make sure to immediately pick up their poop, it prevents the others from stepping on it. I try to water the grass that they poop in. I figure the water hose can act like an outdoor flushing toilette. I have a cat that will pee in my sink. I now have a hospital tub for her to pee in, instead of my sink. She’s k e of the many ways I accommodate and at the same time I prevent her from peeing in my sink. My cats will let me know if I missed a day of cleaning their cat box, they will protest and pop/pee in my dirty laundry basket, bed sheets, or anywhere the. Feel they can reach my attention that the cat box is way too full. Now, I make it a point to clean their box twice a day. There have been a couple of ER visits. If I see they are not themselves, and it’s serious, I will waist no time to take them to the nearest ER. If it’s not major, I keep an animal first aid kit that has bandages, Neosporin and witch hazel.

“Emily came for drop in to feed the dog while we were on a family vacation. She was responsive to messages and was very helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to book again for the next time we need someone to take care of Moro.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Almeda
This is the second time we’ve asked Lindsey to care for our cats, and once again she did an amazing job. She follows all instructions carefully, respects your home and rules, and takes her responsibilities seriously. Lindsey is kind, professional, and keeps you updated throughout the visits, which gives great peace of mind. Most importantly, she truly cares for your pets. We’re very grateful to have found someone we can fully trust whenever we’re away. Thank you so much again, Lindsey!

Absolutely amazing service by Emma! If I could rave on and on about her I would. I bet my pets would as well. I have a doorbell camera and everyday she would greet them with so much love as if they were her own. Made going out of town so much better knowing my mind is at ease with Emma checking on them daily. Very professional and caring. I would absolutely recommend Emma’s services and plan to use her again in the near future. My cat is very shy and timid but clicked with Emma quickly, so she must be doing it right!! Animals know people’s vibes and they loved Emma! Thank you 🙏🏻

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Almeda. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
