“Pamela is amazing with dogs. Caring, compassionate, loving and provides excellent care. You really can’t ask for a better care giver for furry family! Would recommend hands down and plan to rehire.”

“Sara was AMAZING with our puppy, Cooper! She made sure he didn’t eat anything on his walks because that’s been a big issue with him. She always made sure he was taken care of and administered his medicine since he recently was discharged from the animal hospital. We can’t wait to use Sara again!”

“Elizabeth was wonderful! We did 3 drop in visits and each one was done in a timely manner with all the focus on the kitties. Communication was a breeze and our cats were very comfortable the whole time!”

“Alyssa was the best care for my dog I could’ve possibly asked for! She went above and beyond our expectations and was extremely accommodating. She was very communicative and flexible as well. I would absolutely 100% recommend booking with Alyssa, you are getting the best with her!!”

“Sylvia was great and took wonderful care of our dog, Orion. She asked lost of questions and made sure she understood everything my about how to best care for him. She was trustworthy and forthcoming about everything that occurred while we were away. I would absolutely recommend her!”

“Destiny provided perfect care for my two cats. She was accommodating of all my requests and did a stellar job. One of my cats is not the friendliest, but Destiny was able to handle the interactions with patience and understanding. Her updates put me at ease during my vacation, knowing my cats were in good hands.”

“Christina was wonderful and so understanding of all the craziness she walked into with our dog. Very communicative and we loved to see our dog visibly happy in every photo we received!”

About: I've had family dogs for 13 years, but started taking care of some of my neighbors' dogs 5 years ago, whether it be taking them for potty breaks or staying over at their house to give them attentive care. I work part time at a pet boarding place as a kennel tech, so I have lots of experience with many different breeds and temperaments of both cats and dogs. I've worked with dogs of all sizes, from Yorkie to Saint Bernard, and have lots of experience caring for both puppies and senior pets that might need more rigorous attention. I will be working part-time this summer, meaning that on the occasional days I work, I am available any time before 8am and then after 1-2pm. I can still stay over with your pet any day, that just means that on workdays, I would feed and walk them (And any other things necessary) before 8am, and then have to leave for work and then come back at 1-2. Whenever I am not actively at work, I can spend all my time caring for your pets! I am experienced at reading pet body language and adapting to how they respond. I am very communicative and will send lots of updates about your pet, including daily pictures of your fur babies! I can supply treats (with your approval) and can take them to parks and other places for walks, as I have a car and license. I'm dedicated to making sure your animal is as happy as can be :-)
“Lingli is very professional and punctual. She checked in on my fur babies with little notice over a busy holiday weekend. Will definitely be using her again in the future”

“Xin is beyond amazing. She cared for my 2 kittens as if they were her own. She’s wonderful with them, shared lots of pics and updates and they loved her. It was clear they were in good hands and I had nothing to worry about. Highly recommend ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️”

“This was my first experience with Rover and what a great experience it was! I was looking for a transitional caretaker for my mom’s cat in her assisted living apartment. After finding Amie, she was able to start right away. She made daily visits to care for Ping, who my mom was struggling to care for. Amie got Ping fed on a regular basis and got the litter box under control. She is responsible, very caring, and works in a timely manner. She shows up when she says she is going to. Ping and my mom love her and Ping is a much happier, healthier cat! I would highly recommend her as a pet caretaker.”

“Here’s another option with a slightly different tone: Emma did a wonderful job taking care of my pet. Communication was quick and consistent, and she was always very responsive whenever I had a question or update. I felt confident leaving my pet in her care and appreciated the updates while I was away. I would absolutely book with her again and recommend her to others!!!”

About: I have had one cat and many dogs in my lifetime. I believe that dogs truly are mans best friend. My aunt is also an avid dog lover which is where I learned how much I enjoy caring for dogs. She has five dogs that are all varying in needs. Some need medicine every day, some can never be left alone, and some need a certain prepared type of food. I am comfortable with and have experience taking care of dogs with special needs, disorders, and disabilities. I also currently have two dogs of my own that are very different, one is an energetic 2-year-old who loves to play and be outside and the other is a very laid back 8 year old who prefers to sit inside and sleep. I love all animals alike and would be so happy to meet some new furry friends. I'm currently working part-time for the summer so I'll have plenty of time to spend with your pets! I'm available for walks, daycare, and overnight stays! I have experience with animals of all different energy levels and needs. I am vigilant and communicative with owners about their pets and will always keep you updated!
About: Having owned 2 dogs, I've continued to find joy in walking, feeding, and entertaining them over the past few years. I've spent lunch breaks playing fetch with a neighbor's large dog for ~30 minutes, hosted a friend's small dog in my house for up to a week, visited a friend's large dog up to three times in a day, and would love even more opportunities to be around dogs. I'm currently working part-time, so I am likely available in the mornings and evenings. Working part-time allows me to be more flexible to fit into clients' schedules! I look forward to keeping clients' houses secure by following all safety requests in order to ensure trust and comfort when leaving the house and pets with me!
About: It can be so stressful trying to find someone to care for your furry loved one(s) while you’re away; I would love to make it easier for you! I’m an animal lover through-and-through (if you’ve seen it I’ve probably thought about wanting to make friends with it) and I was a dog owner for many years to Samwise, a sweet miniature dachshund. Though I do not currently own any dogs, I am a proud auntie to my two furry nieces–Tetra, a loveable golden retriever and Zora, an energetic goldendoodle–who I routinely see and care for when their family is away. I’ve housesat for friends and family many times throughout the years, for both dogs and cats. Big or small, reserved or energetic, old or young, I’ve dealt with it. My own pets have passed recently and while I adjust to my routine of being a new mom I would love the chance to provide love, attention, and care for your animals. I have a lot of love to give! I currently work only a couple hours a day remotely so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule during the weekdays. I’m also available for most weekends. Nights are a little harder, as I have a little one at home, but not impossible–I have additional child care at home. When caring for your pet you can be rest assured that both your pet and home will be treated with respect. I will provide excellent service and if you’re not happy with me I will take no offense. I am a quick learner and good with constructive criticism and instruction. Just let me know :) Your pet’s care and safety is important to me.
About: Starting at the age of 11 up to today I have been trusted to take care, bathe and feed animals in my neighborhood, friends and family. I’m well at observing and giving medication if needed for older pets but also can be playful and help with the puppies/kittens as well! I currently work at an animal hospital which helps in my knowledge of feeding and taking care of pets. I work part time, mainly mornings but I’m willing to work around that if needed. I am available on weekends and holidays to take care of your pets needs. I can usually make something work around my schedule. At my house, there is acres of land and space. I have two very friendly dogs which I can either keep away or keep your pet company whichever is fine. For the clients home, I’m willing to work with whatever situation/care is needed

I can't say enough about Pam. She's wonderful with our girls and I know they adore her. She earns a 100% for communication, responsibility, and for loving our girls. On our last trip, our flight got cancelled and she stepped right up by continuing to care for our girls and communicating with us each step of the way. She helped us out so much. We are truly thankful for her!

As usual, Brent is amazing and saves the day. He’s so flexible to help me and so good with my cats. It’s always hard for me to leave them, but now I don’t have to worry at all when Brent comes. Not only has he helped me with my cats, but he also looks after the house and makes sure everything is safe and good to go. 1000% recommend Brent

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Albeth Heights. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
