“She was so easy to communicate with and so kind! She was timely and did such a good job taking care of our guinea pigs, even with all the moving parts they require. We got the cutest pictures of them, too! Highly recommend for any animal need you have.”
“Jeanne was a total lifesaver for my family! The kennel that we had arranged boarding for our doodle cancelled as we were just about to get on the road for a trip out of town and our hotel reservations were non-refundable. Having never met us before, she responded almost immediately to my booking request and showed up at our home about a half hour later to meet our doggo even though she had other visits on her schedule that evening. She is very personable and our dog warmed up to her instantly. She sent detailed updates with multiple photos throughout the weekend, and even included our young cats in some pics though she wasn’t responsible to look after them. I cannot thank Jeanne enough for her help and we will definitely book with her in the future.”

“This was our first time having Anna watch our Laci. She did a great job. Not only did she spoil Laci but Anna was very flexible with our ever changing schedule for soccer tournaments. We will book with her again.”

“Madison was absolutely amazing with our 11 year old pitbull! She truly went above and beyond to spend quality time with her and provided us with daily updates and pictures. I cant say enough great things about her service!”

“Sara was great with our dogs and we felt very comfortable having her watch them. We loved receiving photos of the dogs and knowing they were safe and happy! We would definitely recommend her and will use her again!”

“Ally was GREAT. She took great care of my cat Luna and was flexible with my last minute plan changes. My cat who usually is pretty scared of strangers warmed up to her right away, which says a lot. She gave me some recommendations as well since i was new to the area. Very responsive and communicative. 10/10 will use again.”

“Karen was very attentive to our gentle giant, James absolutely loved having her and now thinks she’s part of the family. We will definitely use her in the future.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Truly Wonderful Dog Sitter! We couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing care Rachel provided for our elderly pup. Our dog is blind and hard of hearing, and she handled his special needs with such compassion and attentiveness. From the start, Rachel was incredibly responsive—quick to answer any questions or chats, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. She showered our dog with so much love and care that it felt like he was staying with family. It was clear from the updates and photos that he was happy, relaxed, and completely comfortable in her care. Rachel even offered to extend her stay if our travel plans were delayed due to weather—just another example of how above and beyond she goes. We are so thankful to have found someone as kind, reliable, and thoughtful as Rachel. Highly, highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who will treat your pet like their own!”

“Highly recommend! At the meet and greet she was so easy to talk to and our dog Luna loved her! While we were away I didnt worry if callie and luna were taken care of, she sent pictures of them getting all the love and attention. I think our house was cleaner than when we left too, 10/10 will be using every time we go out of town!”

About: I’ve always had dogs in my life and helped friends and family take care of their pets. I house-sat throughout college. And growing up, neighbors would frequently trust me to take care of their pets while on vacation. I’ve looked after a variety of dogs, large dogs (Rottweiler and Goldens) and small (Yorkies and other terriers). I love them all. I’ve personally owned 2 boxers (one of which I rescued) and grew up with Dachshunds and a Scottish terrier. My husband has owned miniature Schnauzers. We are very knowledgeable in a variety of breeds. I work part-time during the week so there may be times where your pet will have to be alone for at least 8 hrs. We are both very active and outdoor lovers, so your pet won’t be cooped up inside all day, unless that is your preference. We have a fenced yard with security cameras. We pride ourselves on organization and paying attention to detail, so your baby will be prioritized and well taken of.
“Angie was excellent! She was available on short notice for a holiday weekend. My shy dog warmed up to her quickly. She kept me updated the entire weekend with pictures. I will definitely be using Angie again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Albemarle Farms. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
