“Taylor is a great fit for our fur babies Matteo and Maisy. They enjoyed their time with her and we trust her completely with our dogs and home. We would be lucky to have her watch M&M the next time we travel and need her services. Thanks again Taylor for taking such great care of M&M??? ?”
“Jennifer is simply wonderful! We have used her several times and she is just great. The animals love her and she genuinely cares for them and their wellbeing. Definitely will use her again!!!”

“Kim was wonderful with my kitties, I will absolutely be using her again. You know its a good sign when KJ comes out of hiding to see her. 😊 Wonderful communication and so good to my babies, thank you again Kim!”

“Kira was AMAZING with my puppy and my sister’s dog. She was reliable and I always knew I could count on her to show up and her communication was great as well. Highly recommend her!! 🤗”

“Kayla was everything we could hope for in a petsitter! She communicated quickly and effectively, she was flexible, and she showered our kitties with love from the first meet and greet. With her extensive background with animals, we were reassured that our kitties were in good hands. She provided pictures and a great written summary of each visit. She even proactively left our faucet with a drip when we got those unexpectedly cold nights while out of town and brought in our mail! On top of all that, she left our kitties a Christmas gift and a sweet card. Seriously, what more could I ask for? We will continue to utilize Kayla as long as she's available. It's so nice to have a reliable pet sitter again!! Definitely give her a shot.”

About: I have been working with animals for the past five years, I have taken care of dogs, cats, and lizards. I have worked with disabled animals too Due to how my week operates, I am completely flexible. I can drop in weekdays and weekends, you and your pets are my number one priority. Your animal is safe with me; you don't have to worry. I aim to make open and transparent communication my top priority. If something goes wrong or your animal gets sick I will always contact you.
“Ryan makes a point of knowing what my cat’s preferences are and seeing he gets them so visits are a positive experience for him. Mom may not be home but Ryan’s got this.”
About: Hi! I'm Susanna, and by day two I'm usually besties with your pet. When I'm not spending time with animals, I'm a graduate student in landscape architecture and currently interning at Watermark Landscape Architecture and Land Planning. I love being outdoors, staying active, and connecting with nature—which is one of the reasons I love caring for pets. Whether your dog enjoys a leisurely stroll or needs to burn off energy with a run, I'm happy to match their pace (I'll always go the extra block for them!). I live right by the Ecusta Trail, so daily walks are already part of my routine. I'm friendly, responsible, reliable, and will treat your pet like one of my own. I currently have a 4-year-old indoor/outdoor cat, and I grew up with dogs, so I know how much they become part of the family. I miss having dogs around and would love the chance to get to know yours! I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I'm happy to follow any care instructions to help them feel comfortable while you're away. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. My schedule is very flexible. I'm available before 9:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, and I'm generally available throughout the weekends. I'd love the opportunity to meet you and your furry family—I can't wait to become your pet's new favorite friend! Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I already structure my day around being active and spending time outdoors. On weekdays, I’m typically available early in the morning before 9 a.m. and again in the evenings after 5 p.m., which works well for consistent walks, feedings, and check-ins. I like starting and ending my day outside, so incorporating dog walks or cat care visits into those times feels very natural and enjoyable for me. Living near the Ecusta Trail also makes it easy for me to take dogs on longer, enriching walks as part of my regular routine. As a graduate student, my schedule is flexible, and I’m able to plan my day around pet care commitments. On weekends, I generally have open availability, which allows me to provide more extended visits, extra walks, or more time for pets who need additional attention. Since I already care for my own cat daily, pet care is not something I “fit in”—it’s already part of how I live. I’m used to being consistent, attentive, and responsible with feeding schedules, litter box care, exercise, and companionship. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine consistent and stress-free by closely following all instructions for feeding, walks, litter box care, medication, and any special needs. For dogs, I provide walks and exercise based on their energy level, whether that’s relaxed neighborhood strolls or longer outings on nearby trails. I prioritize safety, attention, and positive interaction. For cats, I take a calm, patient approach and adjust to their personality—some want play and attention, while others prefer quiet space. I always ensure they have fresh food and water, clean litter boxes, and a comfortable environment. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and well-being and communicate regularly with updates and photos so owners feel confident and at ease while away. My goal is to care for every pet as thoughtfully as I would my own.
“Ashlee was absolutely wonderful. The notes and photos sent were great. I was able to enjoy my entire vacation knowing she was stopping by checking on my cat. Highly recommend!”

“Abigail is great! She shows up early/on time. She is respectful and kind. She takes time to make sure your pet is well loved on and happy. She follows all directions and is very responsive. She takes great photos and leaves detailed updates. My dog loves her. It was nice to be away and know my baby was taken care of.”

“Rachel was great! She was warm and responsive and sent lots of updates. She even went beyond and troubleshooted our robot litter box when it wasn’t working properly. I would definitely rebook her.”

“if i could give adelynn more than 5 stars i would. from the moment we had the meet and greet it was a immediate yes to let her drop in on the kitties. she left photos on rover and send videos to my number to put my mind at ease. adelynn was extremely responsive, polite, and kind. i recommend her to anyone who needs a little extra help when leaving town!”

“I needed a sitter last minute for Leo, my 75lb pitbull. I never had someone just come over to walk him, I always dropped Leo off at sitters place which always worked out well. I figured having a meet and greet prior would be beneficial for both. Nicole's ability and knowledge on handling large dogs was evident from the start. Nicole came twice to walk Leo when I was away. He's a handful to say the least: a leash puller, excitable, high energy, etc. Both visits Nicole sent me pics and details of there walks. In the end, they were a perfect match! Highly Recommend!”

“Laura was a very kind and caring presence while I was out of town. She took great care of my 2 small dogs. She would drop in to let them out and feed them as I had requested. If you ever want a sitter with a tender heart and attention to detail, reach out to her.”

“She is a godsend! I have an older very timid dog that really struggles with new people. I honestly was worried that she wouldn’t go outside with the first visit when I wasn’t home. Within two days she she was totally OK with being around Jennie! Jennie has also been so kind to her and mindful, for instance, it was really hot today so she kept her in the grass instead of the pavement. She sits with her even when she’s done with the walk. I could not have asked for a better human to watch my pup! I have her on repeat for drop ins 3x every week while I’m at work and will continue to do so!”

“Wow! Such a great experience with Jill and Eric. They took such great care of my cat. Sent multiple pics and gave the best commentary! Arrived promptly for each visit. Really great people. Thanks so much. We will definitely use them again!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yale. On Rover:

- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
