About: I have had dogs, fish, and rodents all my life. I volunteered at the Asheville Humane Society early into my teenage years. My previous job was at a dog daycare, which I worked at for one year. After I left that job I began working as a pet bather at a grooming salon. I recently left that job as I wanted to go back to school, and now started volunteering for the Asheville Humane Society again. I am available every day from 7:30 am to 7 pm. With those hours it gives me a lot of time to keep your fur baby entertained and fed. Since my job is 90% remote work, I have the flexibility to take my dogs on a walk or play outside in the fenced in area of our home multiple times a day. Two kids later, potty training another living thing is not a priority but I cant resist tail wags and couch snuggles whenever I’m around animals. I have had dogs of my own and have experience with crate training and will help to encourage existing basic training behaviors. I work remotely full time and am typically an early riser. About: Rescuing dogs — especially puppies — is the most rewarding feeling in life. The most important thing with our furry friends is consistency. If you're stricter with your dog, you need a sitter who'll uphold those rules, not let them slide. I've taken care of dogs and cats for friends and family for years, and I've learned that it's not about what I want — it's about honoring what the owner has built with their pet. I work with the public in my day job, so patience is second nature to me. Pets are no different. They need someone who can read their energy, stay calm, and meet them where they're at. I also love running and playing with animals. Exercise is huge — but I get that a walk isn't always about distance. Sometimes they need to run. Sometimes they need to stop and smell everything. I match their pace, not mine. I don't know if anything really sets me apart from other sitters. I just genuinely want to be there for the furry family member. My availability in inconsistent due to Firefighting but I will always respond as soon as I'm able too. I understand due to my schedule I won't the best sitter for if you need someone daily, but if you need someone to drop-in, walk your dog, or just need a night out, feel free to leave a message. Currently working for a fire department, schedule can be inconsistent. Great for drop in play times and walks. Days off from fire department can be great for unexpected care. Currently unable to have pets in home due to renting rules. Will make sure to confirm and follow all rules with you before accepting the job.

About: I've been a dog lover and owner for more than 25 years and have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from puppies to seniors. My first two dogs lived to be 16 years old, giving me firsthand experience with the patience, attention, and extra care senior dogs often need. Today, I share my life with Bailey Love, my 5½-year-old rescue pup and adventure buddy. We spend lots of time exploring the trails and woods around Asheville, and it's where he's happiest. Bailey is friendly, well-trained, and loves making new friends...both human and canine. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, playtime, or simply curling up for a nap, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for while you're away. I treat every dog as family and will provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing they're in good hands. Administering meds will be an additional $10-$20, depending on meds and frequency. ***For overnight stays, Bailey would be with me - he is great with cats; he has grown up in a house with 3+ cats and litters of kittens and pups.*** I own my own business and teach yoga, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for pets throughout the day. You'll often find me on the trails with my dog, Bailey Love, exploring the woods and soaking up nature. When caring for pets in your home, I will treat your space with the same respect and care I give my own. I understand the trust involved in welcoming someone into your home and caring for a beloved family member. For drop-in visits, I often have the flexibility to stay a little longer when schedules allow. As a business owner, I can sometimes bring my laptop and work from your home while spending extra time with your pet, offering additional companionship, playtime, cuddles, and comfort while you're away. My goal is to help your pet feel safe, loved, and as relaxed as possible until you're back home.
“Calvin was simply amazing and took such great care of Bear! Bear got sick on day one but Calvin was extremely communicative and caring making sure he was taken care of. I felt 100% comfortable knowing Bear was in great hands with Calvin and will definitely use him again. He sent updates, pics and videos each day and even sent us home with some printed pictures of his stay as well as a new toy. I can’t recommend Calvin enough!”

“We had our 8mo Chihuahua mix pup, Zelda, stay with Julie while we were out of the country & we won't use anyone else in the future. We hadn't left our pup with anyone yet & Julie graciously hosted a meet & greet in her home so I could see where she'd be staying. From the moment Julie sat on the floor to meet my timid pup where she was at, I knew that she understood exactly what dogs needed. The drop off before our trip was a breeze, as she had Zelda engaged in play & we just slipped out quietly. Julie was very communicative, kept us up to date on the adventures they were having & sent us lots of pics of our sweet little lady throughout each day. It was awesome to see Zelda having so much fun & being loved on, just as much we do. We had a bit of trouble with delayed flights coming back to the US, & Julie had no problem being flexible with keeping Zelda another day. Julie is one of the most kind & thoughtful humans. She put papertowels in between the food dishes when she packed everything up & put a note to remind us the peanut butter was in the bag so we didn't leave it out of the fridge too long after the days of travel we had. She snuck a welcome home card in, too. There are so many examples I could give of the type of caretaker & human Julie is, but the fact that I never worried once about Zelda while we were gone really says it all (I admittedly am an anxious control freak of a pet parent). I know Zelda loves her just as much as we do because she greeted us with barks & hackles up until she realized we were her long lost parents. 😆”
