“Carly treats my dog as she would her own. She’s patient toward my shy pup and puts in extra effort to make her comfortable. I feel very assured Layla is in great hands when I’m working and would recommend her in a heartbeat.”

“Brady is outstanding! Highly recommend! First time using Brady for my diabetic cat. She came twice before the scheduled visits to go over instructions and first watch me give the injection then again to administer the injection. She did great! Followed all instructions while I was away and gave detailed information and pictures during the visit. I did not worry at all since I knew Romeo was well taken care of. I will definitely request Brady again when the need arises. Thank you so much!”

“Seana did a great job, followed directions wonderfully, and made us feel very comfortable with updates and pictures! We highly recommend her! This was our first time using anyone other than a kennel or relatives, and we would not hesitate in the future.”

“Sabrina worked out beautifully for taking care of our indoor cat and feeding the stray who appears every day. Sabrina is responsible and kind. I feel comfortable with the care provided and Dori seemed very calm while we were gone and when we got home. We have already booked Sabrina for our two-week trip to Maine.”

About: I have taken care of friends and family’s fur babies for years and now looking to help others! I have house/dog sat many times including puppies and elder dogs. I have a ton of patience and love for animals which allows me to connect with each pet and give them the care they need. I currently work full time from home. This allows me to have a flexible schedule and be able to do check ins/walks during the week. I am usually free weekends as well. I follow any instructions given by the fur parents. You know your fur baby the best so I make sure I follow the routine as closely as possible.
“Could not be happier with the care Josh put into his time with our dog, Dale. Dale can be a bit overwhelming to some guests, but Josh handled him perfectly. He sent great pictures during his visits and his communication with us was also great. We look forward to using Josh again in the future. We know Dale can’t wait to see him again!”

“Michael came by for a meet-and-greet before our upcoming trip, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He took the time to go through our care instructions, walked the dogs, learned their feeding routine, and patiently listened to all the little quirks that come with our two bull terriers. The best part was how quickly our dogs warmed up to him. They’re usually a great judge of character, and they were comfortable with him almost immediately, which gave us a lot of confidence. Michael is friendly, professional, attentive, and genuinely seems to care about the animals he looks after. After meeting him, we’re leaving for our trip feeling much more relaxed knowing our two clown bull terriers will be in such good hands. We highly recommend him!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 8 years old, and I grew up around larger breeds, such as pitbulls. I also have experience with dogs who are aggressive towards other dogs. Taking care of pets is a daily routine and it should always be on a consistent schedule. I always make sure to feed and walk my pets before and after going to work. I also make sure to give them adequate attention and play time. I always make sure to keep pets from getting into things that may harm them or make them sick, and I like to give dogs at least 15-20 of walking time to get their energy out.
“Elizabeth was just terrific with our young shy cat Alice! By the end of the week, our kitty was sitting in her lap and cuddling. She promptly responded to any concerns I had and was there every day at the time she said she would be. Highly recommend!”

About: I've adopted many dogs, but started pet sitting for my much needed "fix" when my kids left the nest and couldn't help if i got another dog while I worked. I have dog sat at other people's house, at my house and do love senior dogs as much as young ones. I'm now retired and want to love on dogs. I just retired so i'm quite flexible. I love walking in general, and would enjoy the company of a pooch or 2. I'm good for just the day, overnight or extended needs. I always considered my own dogs as being family members. That said, they are allowed on the furniture. I have a small fenced back yard if your pooch doesn't want to walk in the rain or needs a late evening potty break. During the daytime, I like to walk a lot so your place or mine to give your dog's legs a stretch. I always have dogs on leash, no free running dogs are allowed in my development. I do belong to the Lower Makefield dog park if you are local and want to add me to your account to bring your dog there.
“Richard was great with communication, pictures and updates during our trip. He was very professional, came and checked everything out ahead of time. Our cat obviously trusted him right away which is no easy feat. Thank you!!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Kimberly! We are first-time users of Rover and it was a positive one from beginning to end. From the Meet and Greet, to the actual dog-sitting appointment, and the after pictures/report card, it was smooth sailing. Not only will I use Kimberly again, but I highly recommend her. She’ll be sure to keep you in the loop and your pet might not know you’re gone for the day! Thank you again for taking such good care of our fur baby. ???”

“We are so thankful we found Harry and Kerri to take care of our dog Harry! He’s quirky and takes a while to warm up to new people but Kerri and Harry have always respected his boundaries and taken great care of him. He hates being boarded so they did a bunch of drop ins for us while we were away and spent extra time with him. We couldn’t appreciate them more!”

“Helen has been super helpful in caring for my senior sheltie. I have booked her multiple times. She responds in a timely manner and always messages me with any questions as my old man can be very fussy.”
“Thank you so much! We will definitely be using Clarissa again. She was great and helped clean up a mess our cats made. She’s very responsive and made our first experience with a sitter a good one!”

“Stephanie was excellent! I had to book last minute because my other Rover Sitter cancelled, and she was able to quickly make a stop in visit to meet my cat. I received pictures and updates about everything that was going on. It just made my vacation so much more relaxing knowing that I had someone as attentive as Stephanie watching my cat!”

“Dee took care of our little Rosita for a week while we were out of the country. She is very professional, communicates well and was sensitive to both our individual needs and those of our cat. She sent frequent updates with photos and although our baby is very low maintenance I am confident that Dee is well equipped to take care of cats with greater needs. We recommend Dee and will be using her again.”

Sarah did a wonderful job caring for my two munchkins. Both of my cats are senior and the oldest, who is 17 and takes insulin LOVED HER. She was super attentive, thorough, on time, and I loved the after visit summaries that she left. I will most definitely recommend her service and hire again. Thank you Sarah for taking such wonderful care of them.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Woodside. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
