“Bill is an exceptional dog walker! Our dog, Remmy, absolutely adored him. Bill is punctual, reliable, and provides fantastic updates after each visit. He’s also a very understanding person. After a long trip, we returned home to a dog that was not only happy but also well-cared for. Our family highly recommends Bill. Just hope he doesn’t get too many customers so we can easily book again. Thanks, Bill!”

“I recently had the pleasure of hiring Diane to check in on our dog, Riley, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we met, Diane demonstrated a genuine love for animals and a high level of professionalism. She was in tune with Riley’s needs and followed all the instructions we provided for feeding, watering and caring for Riley. Diane sent photos and an update from her check in visit which gave us peace of mind, knowing Riley was in good hands. I highly recommend Diane Hanna to anyone in need of a reliable, caring, and professional dog sitter. Thank you Diane for taking such good care of Riley!”

“Caitlyn is great! Very quick responses, set up a meet and greet within a day, and was on time and sent pictures for each visit. Would for sure book again and probably will for our next vacation! Highly recommended”

“Carol was quick to get back to me when initially booking, asked great questions during our meet and greet and sent clear updates. We were happy to have our kitty in such good hands while we were away!”

“Elizabeth went above & beyond! A family situation caused last minute changes and she was so helpful. She took AMAZING care of both my pups and communication was fantastic. I will definitely reach out when I need a sitter again.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 8 years old, and I grew up around larger breeds, such as pitbulls. I also have experience with dogs who are aggressive towards other dogs. Taking care of pets is a daily routine and it should always be on a consistent schedule. I always make sure to feed and walk my pets before and after going to work. I also make sure to give them adequate attention and play time. I always make sure to keep pets from getting into things that may harm them or make them sick, and I like to give dogs at least 15-20 of walking time to get their energy out.
“Kim exceeded our expectations, we were blown away with her professionalism towards the job of taking care of our kitten. She came for a pre-visit to go over the work which was above and beyond. Kim cared for our kitten as we would and would give a great report card with the sweetest messages and notes about the care with pictures . We would definitely recommend her to anyone and will have her back in the future. Great job Kim!”

“We were so lucky to have Stacy take care of our dog Mila while we were away! Mila takes a lot of medication and Stacy made sure she takes everything on time. She went above and beyond to make Mila feel comfortable with a new person in the house and by her second or third visit Mila was already as exited to see Stacy as she is to see us. Stacy answered all my questions and was available to discuss how Mila is doing 24/7”

“Can't say enough good things about Harry and Kerri! They are so thoughtful and really understand each pet and their quirkiness and needs. We are so fortunate to have found them to help take care of our dog Harry when needed!”

“Jeffrey was a wonderful sitter for our three cats. He did everything we asked and more. He came by for an orientation and was warm and gentle with the cats. He kept everything clean and truly cared about an appropriate environment for our cats. He visited twice in one day and heated up the cats' food, even though we did not ask. He sent photos and messages. We could not have been happier. Thank you, Jeffrey!”

“Kayla was great with my dog. He is older and can be a little stand-offish but she was very patient and understanding. She was communicative and let me know exactly how they were doing. I would definitely hire her again!”

“Dana did a fantastic job taking care of my cats while I was away. I will definitely be using her again. She is extremely reliable and attentive and exactly what I was looking for in a cat sitter.”

“Kristi watched my two cats this week and was amazing!! I would definitely hire her in the future. She was quick to respond to messages and always provided great photos and recaps of her visits with my babies! I felt so much less stress this vacation knowing I could trust her to take care my cats. Thank you Kristi!”

“Stephanie was excellent! I had to book last minute because my other Rover Sitter cancelled, and she was able to quickly make a stop in visit to meet my cat. I received pictures and updates about everything that was going on. It just made my vacation so much more relaxing knowing that I had someone as attentive as Stephanie watching my cat!”

About: Hello, I’m Mikaela and I can’t wait to meet you and your fur-baby! I’ve had plenty of experience with small and large dogs, old and young. I’ve also owned and have been a pet sitter in the past. I’ve done as little as walking to having the pup stay the night for a week. I have a car and a phone number you can reach at any time you need a sitter or your pet walked :) Sundays after 3 Monday-Thursday mornings 6-12pm Fridays after 6pm If you need me for Saturdays it will need to be after 8pm! If you have any questions about my schedule or availability please let me know! This depends on you and your pets needs. If you have specific instructions on how you would like me to look after your pet I’d love to hear them, details and all. Of course I offer walking, feeding, playing, making sure your pet is getting the attention and love they deserve. I want to know your pets likes and dislikes. Favorite toys, diet and walk schedule/how many times your pet needs to go out. As well as any medication your pet may need to take. This includes your dogs temperament and I would like to meet your pup before the actual sitting date so that your pet is comfortable with me.

Carol is wonderful to work with. She came over before I left on a trip to make sure everything was ok, check on the animals and any special needs they may have had and get the key in advance to ensure no problems. She was able to easily care for my cats and even cleaned up when one of the cats was violently sick outside the litter box. She sent pictures of both animals at every visit (2X a day for over a week) and helped assuage any anxiety I had about leaving them. 10/10 - absolutely trustworthy and able to care for elderly and even younger cats.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Village Shires. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
