From the moment we met, Diane demonstrated a genuine love for animals and a high level of professionalism. She was in tune with Riley’s needs and followed all the instructions we provided for feeding, watering and caring for Riley. Diane sent photos and an update from her check in visit which gave us peace of mind, knowing Riley was in good hands. “Another great experience with Jeffrey! This was our first time being away for two weeks and Jeffrey took wonderful care of our cats while putting us at ease. He is very attentive to the cats' needs and made a point of coming at the same time daily for consistency. He shared at least one photo daily and provided updates. Jeffrey is kind and gentle. We are so grateful for him.”

About: I have cared for family and friends pets since I was 14 years old. Combined with my love for animals and attention to detail, my skill set has helped to create a special experience for each pets needs. From energetic dogs needing more patience and structure to senior pets who need a little more tend love and care! I am currently working full-time, 7am-2:30pm (M-F). However, on weekends and afternoons I am free to devote my time to caring for your pets. I don't work summers which allows me the flexibility to provide the best care needed to each of your fur pups. When caring for my own and other pets safety and trust is a top priority. Each pet is different however I still make it my business to make sure pets and parents of pets feel comfortable by catering to their specific needs in and out of my home. In my own home, I make sure the environment is free from anything that can be toxic to animals such as exposed wire, toxic plants, or foods. I maintain consistency with pet schedules to ensure each animal feels comfortable. I have a large backyard that is partially fenced in so pets can get regular exercise. I also have one mini poodle that goes by Karter, if it meets the pets needs Karter is great company to keep to promote interaction and stimulation throughout the day.

“Sarah provided excellent care taking care of our pet while on vacation. Our area was flooded while we were gone, and Sarah found a way to still make it here to feed Barney. Very responsible and gave us daily updates with pics. Would highly recommend her to care for your pet.”

“Hayley was fantastic with our cat Jinx. Not only did she give the usual update, but she gave detailed messages of how he greeted her, where they went and how they played together. She sent pictures of them playing and what he was doing. Hayley has such a warm personality and it shows with how she cares for animals. Will definitely be using her again!”

“We can’t say enough good things about Amber! She is absolutely amazing, and thanks to her, we never have to worry about our cats when we’re away. She’s not only reliable and professional but also genuinely caring and attentive to our cats’ needs. Every time we come home, they’re happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It gives us such peace of mind knowing they’re in such good hands. Highly, highly recommend!”

About: I've spent the last 15 years caring for dogs of every size - from tiny lap dogs to larger breeds - while regularly sitting and walking my parents' pups. I know that a Great Dane and a Chihuahua need very different things, and I'm comfortable handling both with confidence and patience. I'm also experienced with cats: when my sister and her family spent 10 days in Italy, I came by twice a day to feed their two cats and keep their litter box clean, so their pets never missed a beat while they were away. For the last 4 years, I've owned Hiro, a Shiba Inu rescue from the SPCA; he's wonderful with other dogs, but is reactive and distrustful of strangers. Through consistent basic and behavioral training, I've learned firsthand how to read stress signals, manage triggers, and build trust with a dog who needs a little extra patience - skills I bring to every pet I care for, reactive or not. Living with Hiro has taught me a level of attentiveness and calm energy that I think any pet parent would want in a walker and drop-in. Whether your pup is a laid-back senior, a bouncy puppy, or has their own quirks and triggers, I'll treat them like family. I'm reliable, communicative, and happy to send photo/status updates so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. Weekends (Fridays-Sundays): Available anytime. Weekdays (Mondays-Thursdays): - Mornings: 06:30 until 07:30 -Evenings: 19:30 until 21:30 Weekends (Fri-Sun) I am usually free all day with the exception of some personal appointments on Fridays. On weekdays (Mon-Thurs), I'm available for early morning visits (06:30-07:30) or evening visits (19:30-21:30) - great for shift workers, healthcare professions, or anyone with early/late schedules! Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priority. I treat every animal in my care as if they were my own - following your routines, feeding schedules, and any special instructions closely, and never leaving anything to guesswork. My approach is calm and structured, which comes naturally raising Hiro, my reactive Shiba Inu; I'm well practiced in reading stress signals, giving pets space when they need it, and creating a secure, low-stress environment for animals of all temperaments. I communicate openly and often, with photo and text updates so you always know how your pet is doing. Whether I'm in your home for a drop-in, or taking them for a walk, I make sure the environment is secure, hazard-free, and set up for your pet to feel relaxed. You can trust that your dog or cat will be safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for.
About: I have a lot of experience caring for dogs of all breeds and personalities, such as bloodhounds (grew up with 2!), corgi, schnauzer, Labrador, Italian spinnone, Shiba Inu, and French bull dogs. Fun fact: I helped bottle feed and care for a french bulldog with a cleft palate at just 4 days old until the time she was ready to be adopted! I work from home part time so I would be available to care for your pet all day when working from home or morning/night on the days I go to the office. I would make the pet feel comfortable in my home with its favorite bed and tons of toys. I will keep your pet on the same eat, play and sleep schedule that they are used to with you to make them feel at home.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Parkland
Carol is wonderful to work with. She came over before I left on a trip to make sure everything was ok, check on the animals and any special needs they may have had and get the key in advance to ensure no problems. She was able to easily care for my cats and even cleaned up when one of the cats was violently sick outside the litter box. She sent pictures of both animals at every visit (2X a day for over a week) and helped assuage any anxiety I had about leaving them. 10/10 - absolutely trustworthy and able to care for elderly and even younger cats.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Parkland. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
