“Carly treats my dog as she would her own. She’s patient toward my shy pup and puts in extra effort to make her comfortable. I feel very assured Layla is in great hands when I’m working and would recommend her in a heartbeat.”

“Sabrina is very gentle and loving with Susu, I've never seen my cat warm up so fast to a stranger. Sabrina also does an amazing job at effortlessly giving him his required medication, offering him treat rewards, and keeping him happy by giving him enough attention through pets and play time. She's great at making Susu feel less lonely and comfortable, with the way Susu loves sitting on her lap. Will definitely contact her again for future visits!”

“Kat is absolutely wonderful with our dog Maggie. She is reliable, communicative and clearly cares about Maggie’s well-being. It gives me great peace of mind knowing Maggie is in such good hands while I am away!”

About: I have been a pet owner, foster mom, rescue volunteer, and assistance dog trainer for more than two decades. I am a teacher, mom of four grown children, with too much time on my hands and I need some furry friends! I also love to exercise and to walk every day. I am a quiet, introverted person, an avid walker and reader, holder of two masters degrees, and a person of high integrity. I can be trusted in your home. I have experience with very old and very young dogs and cats, with bottle-feeding, administering meds, eye-drops, and even administering subcutaneous fluids. I have puppy trained 7 golden retrievers/standard poodles to be assistance dogs for autistic children which means I took a six-week puppy training course with each pup. I am referred to by my friends and family as the Dog Whisperer. I believe in pet in-loco parentis - pet parent in your absence! I am a preschool teacher (leave my house at 8 and return home by 4.) I like to spend as much of my free time with furry friends. I have been fostering dogs and cats for decades and have a lot of experience sharing my home with other people’s pets. Again, I believe in pet in-loco parentis - pet parent in your absence! I have yet to find an animal I couldn't love. I care for my own pets as if they were my sons and daughters, much to my real children's annoyance!
“Sade did a bunch of “drop in” visits for us to walk our two pups, one of which is a 15 week old puppy & can be a handful at times! She was awesome all around and the dogs loved her! Very professional, friendly, courteous, trustworthy, punctual and has excellent communication - would highly recommend Sade to anyone looking for pet care services!”

“Kelly was great! She was available to care for our very energetic dog on short notice. She sent an update and picture promptly. She communicated with us very clearly and we felt our pup was in good hands!”

“Giana was great! She took care of our two pups for 3 days while we were out of town and was great with communication. One of our dogs is more skittish and people shy and Giana was very patient and willing to try all the tricks to get her outside. I would book Giana again!”

About: I've been obsessed with animals since I was a kid. I especially love dogs, and I am fascinated by their complex social lives. I've worked with animals during every stage of my life. In college, I watched after a farm and worked at a kennel. In grad school, I looked after dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks. Since then, I've published a thesis project on conflicts between urban coyotes and domestic dogs. I worked for two years at a wolf sanctuary, and I'm currently looking for additional work to supplement my other forms of income. I understand dogs and cats from both evolutionary and behavioral perspectives. By now, research is unanimous that punishment creates anxiety and tense relationships between people and dogs. Positive reinforcement is effective and much more enjoyable for both dog and owner, so this is how I approach pet care. I love taking dogs on lengthy walks, and I'm happy to feed, walk, and house sit animals! I'm currently a professional writer. This is flexible work, so I can take on three to four walks a day. I am unavailable most weekends. When bringing a new animal to my home, I always introduce them to my dog, Mina, carefully. This means that I start with two people holding both animals on leashes. If the animals show no signs of aggression, I transition to a watch period. If this works, then I relax the rules a little. When I go to someone's house, I feel out the environment and take necessary precautions to keep all pets safe. I never assume that two strange animals will get along. My experience in the wildlife sanctuary world tells me that this can be very dangerous. Still, I am happy to carefully introduce my dog to yours if you think it might be a good fit. Playing animals burn far more energy than walking ones.
About: When I’m not at work, I spend most of my time with our 9 year old rescue dog Cooper, or spending time going on walks as a family. In my spare time, I’ve had the pleasure of fostering 7 rescue dogs in our home until they all were matched with a loving family and their forever homes❤️. Lover of all animals (cats included, although I cannot pet them due to allergies🤧). I enjoy getting to meet and take care of all sorts of pets on Rover. I’ve even had the chance to feed a families horses while they were away on vacation. If your fuzzy family member needs a babysitter, a nice walk, or anything in between then feel free to send me a message! Currently open 7 days a week for availability. Feel free to reach out regarding availability or with any questions, and I’m also happy to do a meet and greet if preferred. For high energy dogs I have taken them on neighborhood walks, hikes, or played toys with them. I always let the pet parent guide me on what their dog is up for. We have a senior dog gentleman of our own, so for dogs with a milder temperament I am happy to take them on short walks or can hang inside with them if that’s more their speed.
About: I love animals and have had pets all my life. My experience in caring for animals includes most recently dogs, cats, and guinea pigs. I currently have a dog and care for my son’s cat when he is out of town. My relationship with animals has always been amazing because I give them loving attention and ensure their needs are met. It will be my pleasure to have an opportunity to love and care for your pets I offer drop-in care, which means I can pop by your house during the day to check on your pets, handle feedings, and get them some exercise. While I'm not available for full-time house sitting or overnight stays, I build my drop-in visits completely around your pet's needs. I’m a big outdoors person, so when I come by, I love getting them outside for some fresh air, a good neighborhood walk, or a fun play session to burn off some energy. However, I’m just as happy spending quiet time indoors—ensuring your cats or other pets are fed, comfortable, attended to, and feeling secure while you're out." During my visits, I’ll happily spend time outside playing fetch in the backyard or taking your pets for a walk at a nearby park. When inside, I’ll make sure your pets get plenty of one-on-one attention, playtime, and cuddles (if they’re into that!). Most importantly, I stick strictly to your preferred feeding times and house rules, ensuring your pet is happy, fed, and safe before I head out.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
