“Could not be happier with the care Josh put into his time with our dog, Dale. Dale can be a bit overwhelming to some guests, but Josh handled him perfectly. He sent great pictures during his visits and his communication with us was also great. We look forward to using Josh again in the future. We know Dale can’t wait to see him again!”

“Carly was amazing! Very detailed updates, lots of pictures, while taking care of our sweet girl. Proactive communicator from start to finish! We will be booking with her again!”

“Shirley has been an amazing help with my dog Tucker. He sadly passed unexpectedly on Oct 29th.. which is the only reason I’m not using Shirley any longer. I would recommend her to anyone i know!”

“Giana was great! She took care of our two pups for 3 days while we were out of town and was great with communication. One of our dogs is more skittish and people shy and Giana was very patient and willing to try all the tricks to get her outside. I would book Giana again!”

“Sarah is a gem! She's great with our young dog. She takes great care of him and sends us wonderful pics! She's reliable, patient, playful and caring. We're very happy to have her.”

“James was very attentive to all of our pups needs. He was also very flexible as some of our plans had changed on the fly. He was patient (Cash can be skittish) and made sure he was well taken care of. We would recommend James for any pet care needs!”

“Sabrina is very gentle and loving with Susu, I've never seen my cat warm up so fast to a stranger. Sabrina also does an amazing job at effortlessly giving him his required medication, offering him treat rewards, and keeping him happy by giving him enough attention through pets and play time. She's great at making Susu feel less lonely and comfortable, with the way Susu loves sitting on her lap. Will definitely contact her again for future visits!”

“Michael helped us out on short notice and cared for our 2 elderly cats while we were away for a week. He was very professional, sending photos and communicating both AM and PM each day. It did a lot to assure me that my girls were ok while we were gone. My girls were not very social as this was their first time with a sitter, but they were healthy and happy upon our return.”

“Mykelle did a wonderful job watching our puppy (walking, feeding and administering medication) when we were away for a long weekend. When I first contacted her, she was extremely responsive and we had a meet and greet right away to confirm the dog sitting job. Our puppy Cora really liked her too. I really appreciated all the updates and pictures and excellent communication. Mykelle completely put me at ease as this was the first time that we had been away from our puppy. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her again!”

During the summer I am available before 12pm most days and can be available between 12pm and 3pm some days (Varies based on my partners work schedule). Happy to do meet and greets to make sure you and your pet feel comfortable. Also happy to provide pictures and In and out times for each visit.
About: Hi! I’m a veterinary technician with 15 years experience working in Animal hospitals. I have a big heart for animals and I've been pet sitting for a few regulars for over 20 years. I’m so excited to start pet sitting on Rover. I've also fostered dogs for a rescue and currently work part-time as a vet tech for a rescue. Caring for pets isn’t just my job — it’s truly what I love to do every day. Working in veterinary medicine has given me experience with pets of all ages, personalities, and medical needs. Whether your furry family member needs medications, extra patience, or just lots of cuddles and playtime, I’m comfortable and confident providing safe, attentive care. I’m especially tuned in to reading body language and recognizing when something might be off, so your pet’s health and happiness are always my top priority. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I promise to treat them like one of my own. You can expect plenty of updates, photos, and reassurance while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet you and your sweet pets! 🐾 I currently work for the school district transporting special needs children which gives me more free time during the day and summers. I also work part-time as a vet tech for an animal rescue. Before caring for your pet, I love learning as much as possible about them so I can give them the best, most personalized care! Please let me know about their daily routine, feeding schedule, favorite toys, energy level, and any little quirks that make them unique. It’s also very important that I’m aware of any medical conditions, medications, allergies, past injuries, or behavioral concerns (like anxiety, reactivity, or escape tendencies). As a vet tech, I’m comfortable administering medications and monitoring health concerns — I just like to be fully prepared ahead of time.
“Kendyl is the best! She is very good at communicating and sending pictures, loves our pets, and takes such good care of them! We ask her to pet sit every time we go away with no worries :)”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 4,294 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Penn Valley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Penn Valley. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
