“Shirley has been an amazing help with my dog Tucker. He sadly passed unexpectedly on Oct 29th.. which is the only reason I’m not using Shirley any longer. I would recommend her to anyone i know!”

“Mykelle did a wonderful job watching our puppy (walking, feeding and administering medication) when we were away for a long weekend. When I first contacted her, she was extremely responsive and we had a meet and greet right away to confirm the dog sitting job. Our puppy Cora really liked her too. I really appreciated all the updates and pictures and excellent communication. Mykelle completely put me at ease as this was the first time that we had been away from our puppy. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her again!”

“This was my first time going on a long trip and leaving my three babies with a "stranger". I was apprehensive to say the little least, but once I met Josh, I knew things would be OK and I was right. From the start, he communicated regularly, shared photos and stories, and even gave my three kids little nicknames. He was soon Uncle Josh and a stranger no more! If I could rate him higher than 5 stars I would! For any and all upcoming trips, Josh is our guy. You can tell how much he loves what he does!”

About: Hi! I’m a veterinary technician with 15 years experience working in Animal hospitals. I have a big heart for animals and I've been pet sitting for a few regulars for over 20 years. I’m so excited to start pet sitting on Rover. I've also fostered dogs for a rescue and currently work part-time as a vet tech for a rescue. Caring for pets isn’t just my job — it’s truly what I love to do every day. Working in veterinary medicine has given me experience with pets of all ages, personalities, and medical needs. Whether your furry family member needs medications, extra patience, or just lots of cuddles and playtime, I’m comfortable and confident providing safe, attentive care. I’m especially tuned in to reading body language and recognizing when something might be off, so your pet’s health and happiness are always my top priority. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I promise to treat them like one of my own. You can expect plenty of updates, photos, and reassurance while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet you and your sweet pets! 🐾 I currently work for the school district transporting special needs children which gives me more free time during the day and summers. I also work part-time as a vet tech for an animal rescue. Before caring for your pet, I love learning as much as possible about them so I can give them the best, most personalized care! Please let me know about their daily routine, feeding schedule, favorite toys, energy level, and any little quirks that make them unique. It’s also very important that I’m aware of any medical conditions, medications, allergies, past injuries, or behavioral concerns (like anxiety, reactivity, or escape tendencies). As a vet tech, I’m comfortable administering medications and monitoring health concerns — I just like to be fully prepared ahead of time.

“Michael helped us out on short notice and cared for our 2 elderly cats while we were away for a week. He was very professional, sending photos and communicating both AM and PM each day. It did a lot to assure me that my girls were ok while we were gone. My girls were not very social as this was their first time with a sitter, but they were healthy and happy upon our return.”

“Troy and Shalah were wonderful with my fur babies. I have 3 rescue babies. (1 dog and two cats). They are adjusting and not used to new people. They made Lulu ( my dog) feel comfortable and she enjoyed her outings with them. My cats are still a bit untrusting, but they appreciated the care as they ate well and were comfy in their area. I definitely would contact Troy and Shalah again. They pay attention to detail and were so very professional and caring with my pets! I am very protective of my fur babies and am so very pleased with the care from Troy and Shalah. 🩵🩵🩵”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
