As a pet owner, you simply want someone you can trust to give your pet the best care and create safety while you're away and we found that in Claudia! We needed a sitter to drop in on our cat Nala while we were away and Claudia was amazing from start to finish. She was on time and kept us informed throughout her time with Nala. Nala was so comfortable and happy with Claudia and we appreciated having someone we can trust! I highly recommend Claudia for any of your pet needs, we will definitely re-book her in the future. Thanks for everything!

Jenni was WONDERFUL! On her second visit she asked if she could bring her dog for a playdate with her boyfriend and she sent photos and videos of happy, tail wagging pups playing ball together! I'm going to hire Jenni to come more regularly, hopefully with her pup! I will definitely use her for boarding because now my guy will be right at home with them all!

About: I’ve always taken care of pets from the age of 10, whether my own or family and friends. I enjoy spending time with pets and make it my mission to fulfill their day with their needs and wants. My favorite part of getting to pet sit is the cuddles and play time of course as well as getting to know each and every pet’s personalities. I’m currently working part-time as well in school part-time, my availability for Tuesdays and Thursday are anytime from 2pm-10pm due to school. Friday and Saturday I am available anytime from 10am-8pm, plenty of time to play and cater to your pets! I do not have the environment to pet sit at my home, but am willing to travel to care for your pets! I take all precautionary measures and follow instructions to the T to ensure your pets needs are met and to your standards. I aim for being responsible yet sprinkling in some fun.

About: I am a very active and energetic person and love seeing the joy in all dogs. I have a 4 year old rescue who is also very energetic! She keeps me on my feet! Dogs love me because I love giving them attention all the time, I like to spoil them because that is what all dogs deserve! I am a great multitasker so I can give your dogs all the attention they need. I treat all dogs as if they are my family. I am currently working part time at UD and I work from home, so I will have plenty time for your pets! Also dogs make me the happiest! The way I care for pets is showing them lots of attention when they want it. I play with them physically and mentally. I have simple games that can stimulate your dogs mind.

About: I have pets of my own. I have owned cats, dogs and and small animals too. Currently I have one dog and his name is Max. There were plenty of times in my neighborhood that dogs will get out and I would take care of them until they are safe with their owner. I also have a years experience in dog walking I am a full time student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I am home most of the time but as for my schedule I have classes Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 11-2. Tuesday/Thursday 9:30-12:30. Currently I do not live with my dog so I can provide more one on one attention to the animal I am taking care of. My apartment is very spacious for the animal to play with toys, do tricks etc. Also I love to be out doors and go to Mack park. I have transportation so that shouldn’t be an issue.

About: I have 2 dogs and 3 cats of my own, so caring for animals is a part of my everyday life. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets, and I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I love getting to know each pet’s personality and treating them like my own while keeping owners updated and worry free. My schedule is pretty open and flexible, so I have plenty of availability throughout the week. I’m happy to work with your pet’s routine and be as accommodating as possible. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping them comfortable by sticking to their normal routine as closely as possible. That includes feeding, fresh water, potty breaks or walks, playtime, and giving them plenty of attention. I also make sure their space stays clean and I’m happy to send updates and photos so owners feel at ease while they’re away.

About: My introduction to working with animals started when I became a sitter/walker in my free time during college. In addition to having my own pets- both cats and dogs, I have over four years of experience working with dogs as a groomer. It is safe to say I am an animal lover that treats any baby in my care like they’re my own. Whatever special care your fur baby may need, I am willing to provide! I am currently taking time off so I have open availability for drop-in visits and walks! I have availability for early morning walks/visits as well. It’s important to get to know your fur baby before coming into your home to build trust. Meet & Greets are an important part of getting to know your pet.

About: Hello! My name is Izzy & im looking for pet sitting jobs around the Newark, DE area. Ive been around animals for as long as I can remember and have been working professionally with them for the last 8 years. Initially, I worked with horses on a farm. I then moved to a doggy daycare facility and for the last almost 5 years I have been with a local animal shelter as an adoption counselor/caretaker and now as their foster coordinator. This has given me a ton of experience along with the confidence to handle a variety of animals with a wide array of medical and behavioral needs! I am more than happy to learn & follow any special accommodations your pet may need. Looking forward to working with some of you! (: I am currently working a full-time job at an animal shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays. My hours are typically 9-5 with tuesdays being the exception of 10-6. Before & after work, I am more than happy to spend as much time with your fur babies as possible! I am able and willing to follow any specific instructions regarding the care of a pet. Crates, walking, muzzles, medications etc. I just want the owner and the animal to both be comfortable and safe.

I couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter! She was incredibly reliable, always on time, and kept me updated with lots of messages and wonderful pictures throughout the week, which gave me so much peace of mind. One of my cats is diabetic and requires insulin injections twice a day, while my other needs heart medication applied to the inside of her ear. She handled both with confidence and care and treated my cats like they were her own. I came home to two happy, healthy cats and would absolutely book her again. Highly recommend!

Lilith was wonderful! She went above and beyond for my cats and made me feel so at ease knowing someone so caring was taking care of them. She also did not play around when it came to "send lots of pictures ", even on vacation, it was the highlight of my day to scroll through the pictures she sent of my fur babies each night. 10 outta 10 would recommend

Stephanie did an amazing taking care of our 4 kitties. As kitty parents know every kitty has such a unique personality; ours are no different. With ages ranging from 1 1/2 to 17 they each got individual attention during her visits. We felt very comfortable leaving our oldest who has CKD & requires medication under her care. Even our 8 year old Bella who typically hides during sitter visits came out for some love & pets.

We can’t recommend Garrison highly enough! He was incredibly conscientious and kind, taking the time to understand our bunnies’ routines and needs before we left. Each day, he spent an hour with them—snuggling, feeding them exactly to our specifications, and making sure they were safe and happy. He also treated our home with great care, responsibly using our security system and even cleaning up after the bunnies. Garrison was friendly, punctual, and kept us updated with adorable pictures. We felt completely at ease knowing our bunnies were in such capable, caring hands. A truly wonderful sitter—highly recommend!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Woodshade. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
