“We had such a wonderful experience with Shawn. I contacted her spur of the moment for a trip we wanted to take and she could not have been more accommodating. She was so kind and loving to all of our kitties. She sent us lovely photos of them while she was there for her visits. I am so glad to have met her. We will definitely be using her in the future!! I highly recommend her services to everyone with pets :)”

“Very flexible and communicative! Had to change my care dates/times last minute, Liz was extremely understanding and able to accommodate. Most important of all, Pop absolutely loved her.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Rebecca, someone other than family to care for our pups, one of our pups is Medical Needs. Communication was great, which helped ease my anxiety. The pups seemed happy and perfect when we got home. Great experience!!!!”

“Adriene was AMAZING with our two dogs, Chole and Luna! She gave them such love and attention. She communicated with us while we were away. This made us feel so comfortable. We knew they girls were being well cared for. We highly recommed Adriene!”

About: I have had dogs in my home my entire life who have ranged from sedentary to pulling you down the street! I take time to understand each pets unique needs and make sure that our time together is well spent from the owner's perspective and the pet's! I work full time from 7-4pm Monday to Friday. My availability is anytime after 4pm but before 9pm on weekdays and anytime after 8am but before 10pm on weekends. I live with my fiance who is a veterinary nurse, our 10 year old dog, and 8 year old cat in an apartment. We have easy access to a large park with walking trails and can easily find fun routes around New areas!
“Kara was incredible for the 5 days I needed her to watch my senior dog. She did 2 daily check ins, walks and feedings. She was thorough, kind and consistent. Her communication was the best I've ever received from walkers on this site. She let me know EVERYTHING which was so helpful! She even left a little toy for my dog after she left. It was a great experience and I can't wait to work with Kara again! 5 stars! If I could rate more, I would!”

“Toni was great! She sent plenty of photos and a detailed update every day. She was patient with my shy guy and let him come to her on his own time. Thanks for making my first Rover experience a good one!”

“Stephanie was my first pet sitter with Rover, and I was really apprehensive about leaving my cat for 2 weeks. Stephanie not only went above and beyond to reassure me, but she was flexible with the booking and checking on my house while I was away. She provided detailed updates with plenty of pictures, followed all instructions, and exceeded expectations. My normally skittish cat took to Stephanie immediately, which I know had to do with Stephanie, because she didn’t come out for anyone else that stopped by the house. I had a wonderful experience, and would definitely request Stephanie for any future pet sitting needs.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter! She was incredibly reliable, always on time, and kept me updated with lots of messages and wonderful pictures throughout the week, which gave me so much peace of mind. One of my cats is diabetic and requires insulin injections twice a day, while my other needs heart medication applied to the inside of her ear. She handled both with confidence and care and treated my cats like they were her own. I came home to two happy, healthy cats and would absolutely book her again. Highly recommend!”

“Macy did AMAZING with our pup!! Super sweet and kind! She sent us lots of photos and updates. Even sat outside with her while it was pouring rain, and brought in her food package for us when we weren’t home! We will definitely be using her again!”

“Alex is the best! I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! She took amazing care of my two stubborn Doxies. She updated with photos and messages, and made me feel completely at ease while I were away. I came home to two happy and healthy pups. I couldn’t be more grateful. I highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable pet sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

We can’t recommend Garrison highly enough! He was incredibly conscientious and kind, taking the time to understand our bunnies’ routines and needs before we left. Each day, he spent an hour with them—snuggling, feeding them exactly to our specifications, and making sure they were safe and happy. He also treated our home with great care, responsibly using our security system and even cleaning up after the bunnies. Garrison was friendly, punctual, and kept us updated with adorable pictures. We felt completely at ease knowing our bunnies were in such capable, caring hands. A truly wonderful sitter—highly recommend!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Midvale. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
