“Suzannah was amazing! Our girls had a blast playing and snuggling. She sent pictures daily which helped a lot and kept us updated regularly. We appreciate her so much!”

“Caitlin was such a blessing! From the beginning of reaching out with the request, to house sitting my puppy S’mores, Caitlin was nothing but amazing! She communicated throughout the stay, which was so appreciated! Definitely will be requesting to have her watch S’mores again!”

“Brandt did a great job house sitting and caring for our cat and dog. He has great communication and goes above and beyond in his care for our home and pets. He met every expectation for a house sitter and exceeded in many ways as well. The house was in great shape when we returned and the pets didn’t have any complaints either. We will definitely hire Brandt again in the future.”
“Gwen is the best! Our dogs love her. They are so joyful when she is with them. Gwen has dog sat for us twice and both times we were able to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing that our fur-babies were in good hands. We highly recommend Gwen. ❤️”

“Our two small dogs loved spending time with Sarah! She did a great job adapting their schedule and left our home looking like she had never been there. We will definitely be using Sarah again, for both daytime as well as time when we are out of town.”

“We had Ridge house sit our 2 dogs for a long weekend! He was great! Communicated well and wanted to make sure our dogs routine was as close to when they are home with us. They loved spending time with him”

About: I've taken care of a variety of animals for family and friends. Watched dogs, rabbits, fish, and a guinea pig for my aunt and cousins multiple times. Recently helped my friend while she and her family were out of town by looking after ducks, chickens, a pig, pigeons, horses, and let her dogs out. I also hand fed her cat to make sure he got all of his medicine that was mixed in it. I primarily work nights but am lucky enough to have a flexible schedule that I can move around to be available for your fur baby. All dogs that I've cared for were let out in a fenced in yard to relieve themselves but I am more that willing to walk any dog that needs more excerise or doesn't have a yard. I can crate your dogs if needed while I'm at work or taking care of my cats and let them back out immediately upon return.

“Grace cared for our 2 dogs and cat while we were away for a long weekend. During our meet and greet, Grace loved on our dogs and we were confident she would do a great job caring for them. We came back to an orderly house and happy animals!”

“Shannon was absolutely amazing with my baby over the past few days. She was super communicative the entire time I was away, and FaceTimed me many times so that I could check in to see what my pup was up to! I don’t think he even realized I was away because he was having so much fun with Shannon the entire time. I will definitely request Shannon the time I have to leave town for any length of time. I cannot thank her enough!”

About: I love all animals (except maybe tarantulas) and know how important it is to have a responsible person to care for your pets while you are away. As a former vet tech, I can identify issues early, know when they can be treated at home vs requiring a vet visit, and I can also administer medications and fluids. While I cannot board animals in my own home due to having two dogs of my own, I can't wait to cuddle with your pets while you're away and ensure they are well taken care of! I work remotely so my schedule is very flexible. I am happy to take a break for drop-in visits or a dog walk or bring my laptop and work from your home during an in-home stay. I know it can be hard to trust a stranger in your own home so I thank you in advance for giving me an opportunity to prove that I am trustworthy, responsible, honest, and genuine. I promise I will treat your home and your animals better than my own!

“Valerie was amazing! She cared for my Lucy and Remy as if they were her own and even went the extra mile to try to help with some pool issues that arose at my house while I was away. Her care and dedication was so appreciated and I will be sure to book again with her when needed! I highly recommend Valerie if your pet needs love and attention as if you weren’t away!”

“Nina is an absolute gem! We booked her to stay at home with our 12 year old dog Julia for a relatively last minute 3-day trip. Nina was super communicative throughout the entire process, and sent us pictures of Julia every day. Julia was happy and super relaxed when we came home (almost like she had a little vacation of her own with Nina)! And Nina even took out the trash and washed the linens/towels she’d used before heading out (which was absolutely not an expectation that I had, but totally appreciated, and is just further proof of what a considerate person she is). I’d absolutely rebook Nina to take care of our old lady Julia in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to help care for their furry loved ones!”

“I will be rebooking with Mary for our dogs! She was prompt and reliable and quick to communicate. She also went above and beyond when my dog needed a scheduled vet appointment that was needed weeks after we made the booking. I am so grateful that she could accommodate my dog's need and was willing to be her escort to the doctor. Thank you so much! Sophie and Penny will see you soon!”

“Hannah was a wonderful sitter for our dogs and our home! This was our first time using Rover & she made us feel very confident in leaving our dogs & home for the weekend. Our girls were very well taken care of & will definitely use Hannah in the future!”

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover and have five dogs of my own, so caring for dogs is a big part of my everyday life. I’ve also cared for dogs for private families and understand that every pup has their own personality, routine, and needs. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive, and I love giving dogs plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and affection. I’ll treat your dog like one of my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m in college from 8:00 AM to about 12:30 PM, so I’m available before and after classes for pet care. I have a flexible schedule and can provide plenty of time for walks, feeding, playtime, and attention. I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine and needs. I always make sure pets are in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I’m respectful of my clients’ homes and treat every pet with patience, care, and attention. I want both you and your pet to feel safe and comfortable while you’re away.

We reached out to Dylan on short notice for a weekend, and she was absolutely fantastic! She took great care of our fur baby, sending regular updates and adorable photos that gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Our pup looked happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Dylan was professional, reliable, and genuinely kind. We’ll definitely be booking with her again if ever in a pinch—highly recommend!
This is our second time having Sarah stay at our home with Beau. She takes great care of him and I feel good knowing he’s with her. He got great exercise that he needs and was happy and well-cared for when we got home. We Will be using her whenever we go out of town.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Woodbridge on Rover is $30 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 303 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Woodbridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Woodbridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Woodbridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Woodbridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Woodbridge. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
