“Laura did a good job taking care of my girls, one with the added challenge of being 16 years old. The girls were happy and healthy when I returned. I would book her to watch the dogs again.”

“Michelle is a delight and takes wonderful care of my fur kiddos. The pictures she takes shows how happy and comfortable they are with her. She makes sure their needs are met and reaches out with questions to ensure nothing gets missed.”

“Absolutely love Sabrin! This is my second time booking with her and I will continue to book with her. We weren’t sure how my pets were going to remember her, but I am so glad they did! With all the pictures Sabrin sends me, it looks like my pets truly seem happy. Will definitely be booking her again!”

“Jessica was awesome with our cat Bella during our out of town weekend. Always on time, updating us on everything and taking excellent care of our Bella. I would not hesitate to use for services again and very grateful for her help and care.”

About: I’ve had pets growing up from small (baby frogs, fish) to medium (guinea pigs, hamsters), to big like cats! I love my cat Cleo and have enjoyed pet sitting for friends, neighbors, and family over the years! I always enjoy spending time with them to make them feel more comfortable and loved. I’m currently in search for a long term job and am very flexible. I am available for drop ins from 8am-7pm every day. It would be no problem at all to care for your pet during the day! I treat each pet I take of with love and respect not only for the pet but for the clients home. I want them to not have to worry about a thing while I take care of their pet. I love sending pictures to the client of their pet so they can see they are happy and being loved!

“Riley was wonderful! She was very sweet, reliable, and took great care of my cat, Lola, during her drop-in visits. I really appreciated the detailed updates and all of the photos she sent, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Lola was well cared for and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend Riley to anyone looking for a pet sitter, and I will definitely be rebooking her for future visits!”

“My cat Chubbs loved Karen! She watched him while I was away for a week on vacation and sends so many updates on how he’s doing and what they did and sends so many cute pictures too!”

About: While I am new to pet sitting professionally, I have spent many years caring for dogs and cats as part of my family. I have experience with daily feeding, walking, playtime, basic grooming, cleaning up after pets, and providing plenty of attention and affection. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe and comfortable, and I will treat your pets with the same care and respect I would my own. I am currently on paternity leave, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to be available most days of the week. I can accommodate a variety of pet care needs, including daytime visits, walks, and evening care. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision. I will always prioritize your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being while they are in my care. I follow owner instructions carefully, maintain a clean and secure environment, and provide regular updates so you can have peace of mind. My goal is to treat every pet with the same care, patience, and attention I would give my own family pets.
“Krysta is a wonderful pet and house sitter. She went above and beyond on multiple days to help us our when a few unexpected issues came up. She made our vacation more enjoyable since we knew the house and cat were in good hands. We highly recommend her!”

“Incredible as always, puts so much effort in tending to my girls especially when they’ve been in transitions in trying out a new feeder they weren’t adjusting well to, she even tried to download the app for the feeder to get it to work. Really appreciate her dedication, flexibility, and thoughtfulness :)”

About: What sets me apart is the level of care and responsibility I bring to every visit. As a nursing and public health college student, I’m attentive, dependable, and trained to notice changes in behavior, energy, or routine which is especially important for puppies and senior pets. I have dogs of my own, so I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care. I’m comfortable with puppy potty schedules, basic leash manners, and giving extra patience and attention to older pets who may need slower walks or more frequent check-ins. I treat every pet like my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. While I balance classes and two part-time jobs, my schedule is very flexible, and my classes are only a small portion of my day. This allows me plenty of time to plan walks and drop-in visits without rushing. I’m able to give dogs of all ages the attentive, reliable care they deserve, whether that’s an energetic walk or a calm check-in for senior pets. I follow each pet’s routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I provide walks, potty breaks, feeding, fresh water, playtime, and lots of attention while respecting your home. I adjust care based on your pet’s age, energy level, and needs, and I always make sure they’re safe and happy.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Winterville
Daryana did an amazing job caring for our pup in our home! She was reliable, respectful of our home, and gave our dog so much love and attention while we were away. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our pup was comfortable in his own environment and being cared for by someone so kind and trustworthy. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup and a home that was just as we left it. We highly recommend Daryana to anyone looking for a dependable, compassionate in-home pet sitter. Thank you, Daryana.
It was our first time using rover and we came across alleigh and was so down to watch my boys. She was Very communicative with us and had no issues at all ! My boys loved her and will be rebooking apon our next trip. I 100% recommend 🙏🏽 thank you again Alleigh!

Heather is phenomenal. She is an excellent communicator. She went above and beyond to handle a harrowing situation at my home and offered to change her schedule to make sure everything was okay the next day. She was great with my cat, who typically does not engage with strangers. Her knowledge and love of animals is obvious. Highly recommend — 100 stars!

Did an excellent job looking over my two cats. Left the place very clean. My cats are often a little traumatized after I leave for a while, but with Dima they were completely happy when I got home. I could tell she really cares about cats and gives them lots attention and love.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
