“I’m extremely pleased with Michelle, She is very diligent and obviously takes her job very seriously. I can go to work knowing she will be there to let my Pearl out for her potty break and playtime. She makes sure I know when she comes and goes along with taking pictures. I don’t know what I would do without her daily visits! Ho”

“It was such a relief to know that Laura would be taking care of my babies while I had an extra long day at work. I was impressed that she noted things about them now that she has been here a few times, and she made note of it in her messages.”

“She was wonderful! She accepted my booking at the last minute when I needed someone to watch Sova during a doctor’s appointment. She listened carefully to Sova’s needs, routine, and activity level, and made me feel completely comfortable leaving her in her care. She was attentive, accommodating, and genuinely kind. I’m very grateful she was able to help us on such short notice, and I would absolutely book with her again!”

“Absolutely love Sabrin! This is my second time booking with her and I will continue to book with her. We weren’t sure how my pets were going to remember her, but I am so glad they did! With all the pictures Sabrin sends me, it looks like my pets truly seem happy. Will definitely be booking her again!”

About: I absolutely adore my furry babies! I have saved over 10 strays and got them loving and caring homes! I have lived with many as well! All breeds of dogs and cats! I am currently in college online asynchronous! I also am part time RBT! I will update my schedule according to my part time position! I can’t wait to meet your furry babies! I can easily crate a dog or cat if needed. I understand and learn their mannerisms pretty easily! I can easily learn and understand their diet and where they feel safest. I can also play with them as well.

About: I have been around the pup stage to the elder just wants to be fed and let alone stage. I can do both and am willing to make sure your baby is the best even when your not around. I have a flexible schedule depending on what you need! I am a little tight on certain days (Thursday-Friday Morning/Early Afternoon). But anything truly! :) I am a big believer in dog therapy so me hanging with your dog brings me joy when I can’t go back home to Raleigh and see mine. I’ll treat them just as I do my own.
“Allie was such a great sitter! She communicated throughout the entire process and definitely eased my worry about leaving my kitty for a few days! Will definitely rebook with her”

About: Growing up, my family has always had dogs in the house. I also have lots of friends who own dogs who have needed someone to dogsit or walk! I have been away from my baby doodle “Pearl” since living in Greenville for school. Being around animals makes me very happy and I’d love nothing more to help out in my free time. I am a student, so I will be available after classes. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I am available from 10:30am-12:30, then again after 3:30. Tuesdays and Thursdays I am available after 3:30. On weekends, I am typically available all day! I am a theatre major so sometimes I will be participating in evening rehearsals and shows, so this will be communicated. When I am at someone else’s house, I adapt to a dog’s needs depending on their energy. If they just want someone to cuddle with for a while, or if they want to play and get all their zoomies out, I can do either! I have had two puppies and two senior dogs, so I know the spectrum and can accommodate to whatever’s needed. I can give pills with treats and food. I also like cats and am open to caring for them as well, I have had hands on experience with them! I truly see dogs and cats as little humans and always extend my upmost empathy and love to them. I have no tolerance of disrespect to these babies and will always treat them as my own.
“Jessica is a wonderful pet sitter. We have been using her services repeatedly and we are absolutely comfortable when she is taking care of our precious cat Bella. She’s always on time and very well organized.She sents a lot of photos and updates us on everything that is happening and takes time to make sure everything is in order before we come home. We will gladly recommend her as a pet sitter.”

About: I have always had a pet growing up. I used to have cats when I was little and then eventually turned to dogs. Currently back at home I have three dogs that I love so so so much. Here in Greenville I share custody of a dog, Saint, with my boyfriend. I love to walk so that is no problem for me when it comes to walking dogs. I also worked as an assistant for almost two years where one of my main priorities was taking care of her pitty :) I currently work part time so my availability is pretty open! I spend a lot of my time outside on walks, so it only makes sense that I open the door to including pets on my walk. I do stay in an apartment so I don't have yard space for pets, but I am willing to drive to dog parks or walking trails. I also don't mind going to other peoples home to care for their animals.
“Sunny was great with our boy!! She was on time, communicative and listened to all of our requests (no matter how silly). She snapped lots of pictures for us as well which helped ease some of our guilt from leaving him especially with seeing how happy he was from their time together! Definitely recommend her :)!”

“It means the world to come home to my girls so well taken care of while I’m away! Mafe kept me updated every day, kept their litter boxes clean and made sure they were pampered :) very appreciative and will be requesting again!”

“I was very pleased with her services. There was excellent communication, photos, and videos. She was kind enough to do a meet/greet with my fur baby who has anxiety and that eased my mind about being away. I will definitely book with her again.”

“We love Morgan!! She’s wonderful with our very spoiled dachshund. Always attentive and thoughtful about a little extra love and attention. Very reliable and so sweet. Would not feel comfortable leaving our Zoey with anyone else.”
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Worthingtons Crossroads
Ashley is passionate about cat sitting. She was always on time, kept the litter boxes cleaned, made sure the two were fed and played with our two kittens. She constantly interacted with the kittens giving them plenty of attention and love. This was my first time using her and plan on using her again. She sent pictures from each visit. It was great to know how good the cats were being taken care of.

Kate was a great , awesome person to check on my cats twice a day for feeding , medication adminstration for my boy cay Grey , the auto water changes , litter box cleaning and entertaining them . Communication was excellent with pics of the visits . Kudos to this aspiring goal oriented and beautiful lady whom loved Gods creatures !

Thank you Mady for taking my girls last minute. Mady has been to my house a couple of times this week and my girls love her! One of my chihuahuas is very difficult and doesn’t let anyone take her out for potty breaks. Mady earned her trust in 3 visits within the same day, and by the next day my dog was happy to go out. I will be using her pet sitting service often. Thank you for the patience Mady!

Did an excellent job looking over my two cats. Left the place very clean. My cats are often a little traumatized after I leave for a while, but with Dima they were completely happy when I got home. I could tell she really cares about cats and gives them lots attention and love.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
