About: 🐶 About Me: Hi, I’m Heather—an experienced, nurturing pet professional who has been surrounded by animals since before I could walk. From dogs and cats to birds, bunnies, and even rescued wildlife, I’ve dedicated my life to loving and caring for animals of all kinds. Before relocating to North Carolina, I was a star sitter in Boston, MA, where I built long-term relationships with many repeat clients who entrusted me with their beloved pets time and time again. My background in both teaching and animal care fuels my approach: structured, empathetic, and full of joy! I’ve worked with animals in all life stages, and I’m highly experienced in: • Administering medications (oral, topical, and injectable) • Caring for seniors, puppies, and animals with special needs • Training dogs through behavioral challenges including leash reactivity, food aggression, and fear-based behaviors At home, I share my life with Gherkin, my brilliant 4-year-old Belgian Sheepdog who has completed Basic Obedience, Canine Good Citizen, and two levels of Scent Training, and Gunnar, a sweet Miniature Australian Shepherd who is currently mastering his obedience basics. Whether you need: • Boarding • In-Home Sitting • Drop-In Visits • Dog Walking …your pet will be treated with the same love and attention I give my own. I’m incredibly detail-oriented, quick to notice subtle changes in behavior or health, and I always strive to keep your pet’s routine as consistent and comforting as possible. Whether your companion is energetic and playful or shy and needing gentle care, I adjust my approach to meet their needs. I’ve also lived and worked around a wide variety of animals, including: 🐾 Bunnies, chinchillas, guinea pigs 🕊️ Birds 🐿️ Rehabilitated wildlife 🐕 Dogs with training or behavioral needs You can trust that your pet is in calm, capable, and loving hands with me. 📅 Availability As a Special Education Teacher, my school year has ended and I currently have open availability for pet care bookings. This includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays throughout the summer. My availability may shift slightly as I explore new professional opportunities, but I will always keep my calendar accurate and up to date. I remain committed to making time for both new and returning clients whenever possible. 🏠 How I Care for Pets in My Home and in Yours Whether your pet is staying with me or I’m caring for them in your home, you can expect attentive, personalized, and respectful care every step of the way. In My Home: I have a cozy home with a small fenced yard—perfect for safe outdoor time and quick potty breaks. While the yard is secure, I know most pets love a change of scenery, so we also enjoy leisurely walks through my quiet neighborhood and, when appropriate, adventures to local parks or dog parks. I always follow the owner’s preferences for activity level, routines, and socialization. Your pet will get plenty of affection, structured care, and attention—just like one of my own. In Your Home: When house sitting, I pride myself on being the most respectful guest you could ask for. I keep things tidy, follow all instructions to the letter, and am so focused on caring for your pet that your home may be cleaner than when you left it. I understand that your pet feels safest in their own space, so I work to maintain a calm, consistent environment while you’re away. Whether it’s watering plants, bringing in the mail, or keeping to a special feeding or medication schedule, I’ve got it covered. Ultimately, I take my cues from you and your pet’s needs—always prioritizing comfort, safety, and peace of mind.

“Irina did a great job with my dog Pudge! She sent a lot of pictures and updates while I was away for the weekend. He was a happy boy when I got home! We will definitely use her services again in the future ?”

“Mary did an excellent job of taking care of Eden. Eden was very happy being with Mary well fed and had plenty of walking time. Thank you, Mary.”

About: I've had a passion for caring for animals since I was just 10 years old, and that passion led me to work at a veterinarian office from ages 16 to 20. During my time there, I gained invaluable experience in nurturing animals from the earliest stages of life to their golden years. I became proficient in administering various medications for both cats and dogs, and I also honed my skills in animal training, successfully teaching my own dog over 15 impressive tricks. Currently, I'm fortunate to be working from home, which allows me the flexibility to dedicate ample time to caring for animals. My schedule is wide open, making it easy to accommodate the needs of furry friends. However, I want to give you a heads up that I'll be taking a brief hiatus during the first two weeks of June. When caring for pets, whether in my own home or at a client's place, I prioritize making them feel as loved and comfortable as possible. I treat them as if they were my own, ensuring they feel at ease in my care. This means spending quality time playing with them, providing treats, and showering them with affection to reassure them in the absence of their owner.

About: I've loved dogs and animals since I was little, and I've always had pets in my life. I know how much our animals mean to us. I've cared for many different dogs, always striving to make them feel comfortable and loved. I've house sat for many families, and I have experience walking all different shapes and sizes of dogs. I've taken care of dogs of all ages including puppies all the way to senior pets who needed medication. I don't have a set schedule, my work schedule varies and is pretty open! I can be flexible with whatever your families needs may be. With drop in vists or stays I would follow your instructions carefully and be respectful of your home. I always want your pets to feel loved, calm and safe with me! Because I know it can be scary for them if there family is away. With walking I would make sure your dogs is comfortable and stays hydrated, and I would stick with the routes and places they are most comfortable with. I would be happy to send pictures and updates throughout the day!

“Hannah was our first house sitter and as over protective pet parents we could be happier with the care she provided. She was easy to communicate with, respectful of our home and kept our animals on their regular schedule. Thank you Hannah!”

About: What sets me apart is the personal, hands-on experience I’ve built over the years. I have two dogs of my own that I’ve trained myself, so I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement when working with animals. I’ve also grown up around all kinds of pets — from dogs and cats to guinea pigs and even lizards — so I’m comfortable caring for animals with all kinds of personalities and needs. Because I’ve cared for both young, energetic puppies and older, laid-back pets, I’m great at adjusting my care to fit each animal’s age, energy level, and temperament. Whether your dog loves long walks, needs help with basic manners, or just wants a buddy to hang out with while you’re away, I’m happy to meet them where they are. Most importantly, I treat every pet I watch like they’re my own — with kindness, respect, and plenty of belly rubs. I’m currently a student at Pitt, and I also work a part-time job at Victra. The great thing is that my school schedule is half online, which gives me plenty of flexibility during the day for pet care. I can easily plan walks, drop-in visits, and playtime around my classes and shifts. Since my classes aren’t back-to-back and I manage my own study schedule, I have open pockets throughout the day and evenings to spend time with your pet. Whether it’s early morning potty breaks, midday walks, or afternoon play sessions, I’m more than happy to accommodate whatever your pet needs. Animals are a huge part of my life, so I love being able to fill my days caring for them while balancing school and work. It’s something that fits naturally into my routine and brings me a lot of joy If I’m caring for a pet in their own home, I make it a priority to keep their environment calm, clean, and consistent. I follow the owner’s instructions carefully from feeding routines to walk routes, to bedtime rituals. I love sending photo updates to let pet parents know how their furry friend is doing, and I always make sure the home stays tidy and secure before I leave.

About: I’ve been around animals of all shapes and sizes and have been spoiling them all of my life. I know that I am knowledgable in the ways of dog communication for that reason, regardless of their size or disability. Between running errands, doing random art projects and waiting to start my new job, my schedule is pretty flexible with all the free time I have right now. I am able to provide whatever energy a dog needs whether it be lounging around just relaxing or high energy playing and going for a run.

18. Dajhan B.
“I’ve known Dajhan for years and he is an absolute delight! He has a very calm spirit which has been great for my babies. They get very excited when they know he’s arriving to the door, which is a very good sign that they have an attachment to him. I mean, he’s basically family! When I want to get away on vacation, he is the first person I contact and trust to care for them. He also does the same for my sister! When we go on girl’s trips together, he will care for both of our babies and keep us updated on how things are going when we miss them! He keeps them on schedule and sticks to the regimen that I have for them as far as food and walks. Dajhan has also mentioned that he cares for his friend’s farm animals (chicken, pigs, goats) when they are on vacation as well. I almost want to “gatekeep” but I know that Dajhan is a blessing worth sharing. We love him in our household!”
