“Deandra was a great dog sitter. She kept us updated frequently and went above and beyond taking care of our big guy and home. I will gladly have her over again and could not recommend her enough”

“Daryana did an excellent job taking care of my dog Clover and my home!! Clover took to her immediately, which made. me feel better about leaving for a few days. Daryana communicated every day that I was gone, and when things went awry, she was quick to let me know and come up with a solution. When I got home, it looked like I never left, minus the empty toilet paper roll.”

“Alexandra took exceptional care of our Mini Schnauzer. She has separation issues but we had the peace of mind knowing she was in good hands! Thank you so much!! We highly recommend!!”
“Autumn took wonderful care of our two pups while we were gone for the weekend. She stayed in communication and provided updates through messages, and pictures. The best part is we were able to fully trust our dogs were taken care of which allowed us to relax on vacation. She left the apartment exactly how we left it. Will definitely be booking again!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals as long as I can remember. I’ve had dogs, cats, turtles, snakes, hedgehogs, and fish! I love taking care of, and spending time with animals whenever I can. I am currently a sophomore at ECU, balancing classes and school work, but I can always find a way to make time for a furry friend in need. I have a smaller apartment with other roommates so I can’t have animals, but pet sitting at a clients home is no problem to me!
“Heather is an awesome pet sitter! She takes wonderful care of my pup and he enjoys his time with her. Excellent communication and I love receiving pictures and videos while I’m away.”

“Morgan was great all around! She stayed with our beagle for a week while we were on vacation and our experience with Morgan was great! She followed the our dog’s normal schedule perfectly. She was prompt, consistent, and kept our house in order so well. She communicated with us consistently throughout the week and sent pictures. And we could really tell that she got to know our dog’s personality and preferences during the week. We will definitely be using Morgan again in the future!”

About: When it comes to taking care of your pet, my aim is to provide them the same love and care they would receive from you. I have extensive pet care experience, caring for over 25 pets repeatedly over the past 10 years. My love for animals led me to pet sit and dog walk for close friends and family, and now I want to expand that care to the Greenville area! Working part time, I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to work within you and your pets needs. I am currently applying to medical school as well so most of my responsibilities can be taken care of virtually, allowing me to maximize my time with your pet. In your home, I skillfully adapt to you and your pets environment. Without the stress of taking your pet to a new environment, I respectfully provide care that fits you and your pets needs!

About: I’ve taken care of an array of animals. From small house jobs, to large livestock operations! Also currently studying animal science at NC State. Im currently a full time college student with a flexible schedule. So for the most part, I can care for your pet in the comfort of their home or we could go on adventures on campus! I will ensure all directions are followed for the safety of myself and the animal. And I will familiarize myself with things necessary in the home for the wellbeing of the pet!
About: I’ve pet sit for dogs and cats for 3 years now! My friends, family and neighbors can always rely on me to care for their pets! I currently work 2 part time jobs. Wednesday- Friday I work in the mornings from 7am-2pm and Saturday- Tuesday I work 4pm- 11pm. So although I might be very busy I will always make time for your pets! I am able to feed them, bathe them, brush them, take them on walks, let them out for potty breaks and would love to play with them!

About: I've grown up with dogs my whole life and currently have two Labs and a Cocker Spaniel, so I'm comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I've also stayed at multiple families' homes to care for their dogs while they were away, so I'm experienced with keeping pets comfortable in their own environment. My Cocker Spaniel takes daily medication for stomach issues, so I'm confident giving medications and following care routines. Whether it's going on walks, playing outside, or just keeping your dog company, I'll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I’m currently home from college for the summer and only work 1–2 days a week as a lifeguard, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pet the attention and care they deserve. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, I’m happy to work around their routine! When caring for pets in your home, I always follow your pet's normal routine as closely as possible. I'll make sure they're fed on schedule, taken outside regularly, and get one or two walks a day if that's part of their routine. If your dog sleeps in a crate, I'll make sure they're comfortably settled in at bedtime, or I'll leave them out if that's what they're used to. Every pet is different, so I always follow your instructions to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away.
“Karen was amazing! She was so caring and loving to our dog, and really went the extra mile to make sure he was taken care of, that we had thorough updates, and was attentive to any special requests or needs. I highly recommend Karen and will certainly try and hire her again in the future. Thank you, Karen! :)”

About: I am knowledgeable with expressing anal glands on your dog when they become clogged and uncomfortable for your four legged friend. No dog breed or size is too much for me to handle. I am currently a graduate student at ECU with breaks between classes to ensure that your dog gets the bathroom break and exercise they deserve. I prefer to use a two leash system when walking a dog, a practice I picked up from my days as a volunteer dog walker at a no-kill shelter. This way, I can ensure your dog never leaves my side if they manage to slip out of their collar.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Greenville
There are so many great things to say about Clarisa! She took great care of Baker & our home while we were gone. She sent so many updates & photos I never one time worried about Baker. Could not recommend her more. Will definitely use her again! She will be our go to for drop ins, walks, & overnights. Any pet would be lucky to have her as their sitter.

Alexandra is very attentive to detail! She was super communicative with me for her entire stay while house sitting. She showed up on time and quickly responded to all my messages. I received photos of my pups at least twice a day. At one point there was a power outage and she kept me in the loop the entire time. She administered my dog's medication perfectly, adhering to my own neurotic documentation for when my dog gets her meds. She even watered my plants too and they look awesome. Alexandra treated my home and my pets with respect and love. I would trust her with another house sitting job any time!

Rebecca is consistently the best Rover for our pets and family. Rebecca is so great with being a trusted sitter for our animals. We are so grateful for her! She takes exceptional care of our two large dogs and cute, but naughty cat. Definitely book Rebecca if you’re looking for someone reliable and communicative!

Morgan was amazing! She watched Monte for a long weekend and was super easy to communicate with. She sent lots of pictures and updates and Monte clearly had a great time with her. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a great sitter and I hope to book with her again in the future!

Elle is excellent. She house sat our pitbull and pet bunny while we were away. Her communication was outstanding and she took great care of our pets as well as our home. She has a wonderful personality, very organized and loved our pitbull while away. Highly recommend 10/10. Thank you Elle for caring for our home and pets. You were terrific :)

Kaylee was absolutely great!! This was her first time housesitting with out pup and she was very communicative and sent plenty of pictures!! We really felt at peace and when we arrive home our house was exactly as we left it and we could tell Juniper loved the time with Kaylee!! We would highly recommend her!! What a blessing…

Hannah stayed in my home with my dog and cat while my husband and I were on vacation for a week. I have nothing but good things to say! Hannah was so sweet and took excellent care of my babies and my home! She was very communicative and sent me several updates per day. I trusted her with my babies and I could tell they were so happy and relaxed in her care! We will definitely work with her again in the future!

Meagan was absolutely amazing with my German Shepherd, Scarr! From the very beginning, she were professional, kind, and clearly experienced with dogs. Scarr can be a bit high-energy, but she handled him with so much care and confidence. I got regular updates, pictures, and videos, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away.

FAQs for House Sitting - Greenville
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Greenville on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 171 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Greenville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Greenville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Greenville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Greenville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
