“Daryana did an excellent job taking care of my dog Clover and my home!! Clover took to her immediately, which made. me feel better about leaving for a few days. Daryana communicated every day that I was gone, and when things went awry, she was quick to let me know and come up with a solution. When I got home, it looked like I never left, minus the empty toilet paper roll.”

“Deandra was a phenomenal sitter! I had a change of plans and reached out super last minute. Thankfully, she was able to accommodate and take care of my dog on short notice. She communicated well, sent lots of pictures, and my dog seemed really comfortable with her. She also went above and beyond keeping things tidy at my apartment. I’d definitely recommend her and hope she’s able to watch my dog again!”

“Brady doesn’t warm up to new people easily, so Amy had quite a challenge from the start. She was incredibly patient, and kept us updated with frequent pictures, which gave us peace of mind. She took Brady on several walks to help calm his nerves. I felt comfortable knowing Brady was in her care, and I’ve already booked Amy again in November. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and experienced pet sitter.”
“Lindsay is fantastic! My dog and cat love her and she gives them all the love. She spent a week in my home caring for them and it was great knowing I did not have to worry about a thing. She provided frequent updates, photos, and asked questions about things I forgot to tell her. She is super sweet and kind!!!! She is definitely my number one pet/house sitter now. 😊”

“Clarisa did a great job. She is an effective communicator and great sitter. Our little dog has separation anxiety-Clarisa dealt with it & her quite well. If we return to the Greenville area, she’ll be the first sitter that I’ll check with for any dog sitting needs.”

“Katie did a great job with our curmudgeonly chihuahua! She handled his drama super well, stayed calm through the big ice storm that hit Charlotte while staying at our home, and helped trouble shoot our system when the thermostat went out unexpectedly. When we were delayed coming home due to the storm, she was happy to stay the extra night and left our home in great condition. I'll absolutely be reaching out to her again when our little old chi needs a sitter in the future!”

“Timely communication, knowledgeable and accommodating! Brooklyn saved the day caring for my terriers while I had a family engagement. I was in from out of town and she made sure that my boys were well cared for in a city where I didn’t know anyone. She let me know what was happening, was flexible and kind. I can’t recommend her more highly!”

About: I've had animals ever since I was young, from cats to dogs. I frequently had to keep each fed during the day matching their schedule and take them out every 2 hours or so. I animal sit my neighbors' animals a few times every year for a week or more, attending to the schedule they lay out for me. I'm currently a full-time student at ECU and need a part-time job for my days after i attend classes. I am free MWF from 9am-1pm and all day after 2pm. On Tuesdays I am available after 5pm, Thursdays I am available all day after 2pm. I am available all day on Saturday and Sunday. My dog at home has a shock collar and she is allowed outside freely within a certain radius of the waypoint object. I let her out from 5mins-1hour depending on the weather. I follow her certain eating times by opening or closing her food bowl. She is given the attention and love she needs. She may run out of the radius of her shock and come but dirty so washing her with the correct materials is important for their hygiene.

About: I have bathed, walked, fed, and watched many dogs. I’ve taken care of many different breeds and sizes. I’ve owned 4 dogs including a german shepherd and Boykin spaniels. I also have experience with puppies! I’m a college student currently so I would be able to care for pets before, between, and after classes. I am very reliable and I’m good at communicating! I make sure to maintain a safe and loving environment! I love animals so I will give them the best care! I am very dependable!
About: I’ve worked at a pet boarding and grooming facility for the last 2 years, and have done volunteering and sitting previously. I’ve cared for many dogs ranging from 8 weeks to in their late senior years. I have experience with disabled dogs as well as administering medication by mouth. I’m currently working and in school part time, so I have some extra time throughout the week and weekends! I am available any weekday except Wednesdays and Fridays. When I’m not in school or working, I would love to care for your pup! I would follow the feeding instructions, making sure your pup has food and water at all necessary times. I would make sure their space is clean, and that they are let out to use the bathroom periodically. To ensure that your pup is safe and comfortable I would love to know their typical habits and behaviors around your home.
“Many thanks to Heather for watching our girl Fairah over the weekend! My wife and I don't get to get away often, so when when the chance arises, we take it! Heather took care of our girl and worked on her leash training, offering many tips in the hopes of getting to where she needs to be. She was able to interact with Heather's dogs and played her heart out! She was exhausted when she got home! Overall a great job, I would trust Heather with any of my animals, she's fantastic!”

About: I have worked both with puppies and older dogs and I know how important it is to spend quality time with the dogs. As someone who has a dog with anxiety and as a pet owner I know no one wants their pet or “fur-baby” to feel they’ve been abandoned when you are out of the house, which is why I prioritize taking time to just sit or play with them. I am college student with a flexible schedule, currently, most of my availability is anytime before noon during the week and anytime on the weekends! My yard has a fence and there are several playful and sweet dogs in surrounding homes. There are also parks near by allowing my dog and others the ability to run.

About: Im a nursing student who would love to meet and care for your furry best friend! I am in the area and i don’t have class everyday so im pretty available! I have always had a dog in our house for about 7 years. I have babysat neighbors dogs and cats. I have had 4 dogs at a time before and we have adopted rescues. I have had young pups to senior animals. Since school hasn't started yet, I have plenty of time on my hands to hang out and care for your animals. I am very flexible and will let you know my schedule ahead of time. Always making sure they have water and feeding is on time/ the right amount. Checking the temperature for the animals' safety and their comfort. Gentle with senior animals so they have a sense of security while I am there. If not too hot, we would take walks, but also being cautious of their paws on hot pavement and overheating!

About: I always had dogs growing up and have experience in veterinary medicine. I now work as a Registered Nurse. I am a cat mom to 2 sweet girls and I often pet sit for friends and family. I have experience with cats, dogs, and senior pets. I am comfortable giving all types of medications. I was a dog groomer for about 3 years while I was in nursing school, and groomed my own dogs growing up. My priority is making sure pets feel loved and are entertained while you are away! I work M-F 8-5 with a 1 hour lunch break. I am almost always available on weekends. It is no trouble for me to stop by to care for your pet on my way to and from work, before bedtime, and maybe even my lunch break! I prefer to care for pets in their own home. I find that especially with cats, they are much more comfortable in their home where they feel safe. I prioritize stimulation and comfort so that your baby isn’t bored while you are away! I am familiar with special diets, medication administration, pet grooming, and senior care.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Windy Ridge
Alexandra is very attentive to detail! She was super communicative with me for her entire stay while house sitting. She showed up on time and quickly responded to all my messages. I received photos of my pups at least twice a day. At one point there was a power outage and she kept me in the loop the entire time. She administered my dog's medication perfectly, adhering to my own neurotic documentation for when my dog gets her meds. She even watered my plants too and they look awesome. Alexandra treated my home and my pets with respect and love. I would trust her with another house sitting job any time!

Rebecca is consistently the best Rover for our pets and family. Rebecca is so great with being a trusted sitter for our animals. We are so grateful for her! She takes exceptional care of our two large dogs and cute, but naughty cat. Definitely book Rebecca if you’re looking for someone reliable and communicative!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windy Ridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windy Ridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windy Ridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
