About: I've been surrounded by pets for as long as I can remember. Growing up, our household always had four or more animals, and today I have two dogs and a cat of my own. From energetic puppies to older pets, I've experienced every stage of a pet's life and understand what they need. As a competitive post collegiate distance runner, I live an active lifestyle and love spending time outdoors, making me a great fit for dogs who enjoy walks, runs, or plenty of playtime. At the same time, I know that not every pet has the same energy level, so I'm happy to match each pet's routine (I do enjoy some couch time too!) I've cared for a wide variety of breeds and personalities, including labs, hounds, pit mixes, shepherd mixes, mixed breeds, orange tabby cats, and tuxedo cats. I've also cared for senior pets, administered basic medications and preventative treatments, and I'm comfortable following any care instructions to keep your pet healthy and happy. One thing that sets me apart is that my mom is a veterinarian. While I'm not a veterinarian myself, I've grown up learning about animal health, behavior, and responsible pet care, giving me a stronger understanding of dogs and cats than the average pet owner. Above all, I'll treat your pet with the same attention, patience, and care that I give my own. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine because I currently work part-time, giving me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability to provide dependable care. While my afternoons and evenings are generally the most open, I'm happy to accommodate morning visits or other requested times whenever possible. I understand that every owner has different scheduling needs, so I'm always open to communicating and finding a time that works best for both you and your pet. Because my schedule is flexible, I'm able to give pets the attention they deserve instead of rushing through visits. Whether it's a walk, play session, feeding, or simply spending quality time together, I'll make sure your pet receives the care and affection they need while you're away. My goal is to provide reliable, stress-free care that fits into both your routine and your pet's. Whether I'm caring for pets in my own home or yours, I treat them like they're part of my own family. I know every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I take the time to make them feel comfortable while following your care instructions closely. When caring for pets in your home, I also understand the importance of respecting your space. I'll keep your home clean and exactly as you left it while providing regular updates and photos, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and in good hands.
“Josie was a wonderful sitter for my cat, Lola! She was great at communicating throughout the visits and always sent pictures and updates, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Lola was well cared for. I would definitely book with Josie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter.”

About: I always had dogs growing up and have experience in veterinary medicine. I now work as a Registered Nurse. I am a cat mom to 2 sweet girls and I often pet sit for friends and family. I have experience with cats, dogs, and senior pets. I am comfortable giving all types of medications. I was a dog groomer for about 3 years while I was in nursing school, and groomed my own dogs growing up. My priority is making sure pets feel loved and are entertained while you are away! I work M-F 8-5 with a 1 hour lunch break. I am almost always available on weekends. It is no trouble for me to stop by to care for your pet on my way to and from work, before bedtime, and maybe even my lunch break! I prefer to care for pets in their own home. I find that especially with cats, they are much more comfortable in their home where they feel safe. I prioritize stimulation and comfort so that your baby isn’t bored while you are away! I am familiar with special diets, medication administration, pet grooming, and senior care.
“We have a very shy dog who has trouble eating while we are away. Laura has such been such a comfort as she takes the best care our sweet dog and she always eats for Laura. She’s the best!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals as long as I can remember. I’ve had dogs, cats, turtles, snakes, hedgehogs, and fish! I love taking care of, and spending time with animals whenever I can. I am currently a sophomore at ECU, balancing classes and school work, but I can always find a way to make time for a furry friend in need. I have a smaller apartment with other roommates so I can’t have animals, but pet sitting at a clients home is no problem to me!
“Riley was wonderful! She was very sweet, reliable, and took great care of my cat, Lola, during her drop-in visits. I really appreciated the detailed updates and all of the photos she sent, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Lola was well cared for and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend Riley to anyone looking for a pet sitter, and I will definitely be rebooking her for future visits!”

“Maliyah is wonderful! She takes the best pictures & always gets right back to me if I need her. She has been walking my dog for weeks & continues to put my mind at ease while I’m at work. Very reliable.”

About: Im a nursing student who would love to meet and care for your furry best friend! I am in the area and i don’t have class everyday so im pretty available! I have always had a dog in our house for about 7 years. I have babysat neighbors dogs and cats. I have had 4 dogs at a time before and we have adopted rescues. I have had young pups to senior animals. Since school hasn't started yet, I have plenty of time on my hands to hang out and care for your animals. I am very flexible and will let you know my schedule ahead of time. Always making sure they have water and feeding is on time/ the right amount. Checking the temperature for the animals' safety and their comfort. Gentle with senior animals so they have a sense of security while I am there. If not too hot, we would take walks, but also being cautious of their paws on hot pavement and overheating!
“This was my first time using Rover and I was very hesitant and nervous! But Sabrin made me feel so much better! We did a meet and greet beforehand and she was very sweet and personable! She also communicated with me very well and I felt confident that she would keep me posted! She sent a bunch of pictures of my baby and took very good care of her! 10/10 recommend!”

“Sunny does a great job caring for my dogs while I’m at work. She quickly replies and notifies me of any concerns. My dogs and cat seem to really enjoy her company and the love she shows them!”

“Katie has taken such good care of my fur baby. I highly recommend. She is professional & spends all the time playing with my boy giving him love and attention. Will continue to book her!”

About: I’ve owned Labrador Retrievers and have experience caring for a variety of pets through pet sitting, including dogs, cats, and other animals. I’m comfortable with different personalities, energy levels, routines, and providing attentive, reliable care. I am student in college with flexible hours. I am free nearly every day and I am able to commute and prove quality care to all pets. I am extremely responsible and reliable. I take animals out right away and refill water and necessities. I’d love to exercise your animal and play with them until they are fully cared for and loved.
“Incredible as always, puts so much effort in tending to my girls especially when they’ve been in transitions in trying out a new feeder they weren’t adjusting well to, she even tried to download the app for the feeder to get it to work. Really appreciate her dedication, flexibility, and thoughtfulness :)”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Greenville
Sydney was absolutely wonderful with my cats! With nervous cats it was hard to choose the right sitter but I am so glad it was Sydney. Amazing communication, connected with the cats immediately, and made sure to send lots of pictures while we were away. She really went above and beyond.
Alexandria (Lexi) was absolutely wonderful and a pleasure to work with! She took the time to schedule a quick visit/meet and greet prior to fully booking availability. She followed any and all instructions left and asked all of the proper questions. During the duration of my booking she provided very detailed updates on how my cats were doing and plenty of photos and videos as well. Very professional and prompt communication. 5/5 stars and has earned herself a repeat customer!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
