About: Besides caring for my own dog for nearly 13 years, including nearly a year of hospice care, I also have experience volunteering at animal sanctuaries and cat-sitting for roommates and neighbors. I consider companion animals to be family members, and the care I provide reflects that belief. I work from home, and my schedule is flexible, so I’m easily able to accommodate anything an animal in my care needs. I can provide multiple walks, feedings, and potty breaks a day, whether at your house or mine. Because I work remotely, I’m able to keep your dog or cat company all day. I have a fenced backyard, though it’s small, and I live near a dog park. I have a small crate and a larger soft-sided kennel that can be used if that’s something that makes your dog feel more comfortable; otherwise, pets are free to roam and are welcomed on furniture. I have steps to help smaller or senior dogs get on the couch, and there’s a dog bed in every room of my house. In addition to the Rover Guarantee, I’m also privately insured as a pet-sitter through PCI, so your pets are well-covered.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 12 years old and have years of hands on experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities. From high-energy puppies to calm seniors, I am comfortable adjusting care to meet each dog’s unique needs. I truly see dogs as family and always prioritize their safety, comfort and happiness. About: I have experience caring for my own dogs, including anxious dogs who need patience end calm handling. I’ve also assisted family members who work with Rover and understand the app and care expectations! As of now with my school schedule, I can help out anytime on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Potentially on weekends aswell, but my free hours are mostly those weekdays! My apartment complex is dog and cat friendly, and I have experience with handling dogs within my home before, as I have helped with Rover pets before. I am a very active person and love to go on walks with my own personal dogs at home. So there will be an active environment for the pets that come into my care!

About: I have a wide range of dog experience. Puppies, seniors, reactive, and medicated ones. I am fear free certified and have taken many animal classes and animal behavior classes for my animal science major. Outside of a classroom setting I have worked in a shelter where I was a medical volunteer. This required me to work with dogs that I had no insight to a lot of the dog’s background and always stayed aware of their behavior. A lot of the bigger dogs I worked with were abused, abandoned, or injured and having to work with animals that have trauma like that is heartbreaking but also can affect their behavior towards people. That being said I had to work with dogs that were more challenging and more often than not were labeled aggressive but were actually just scared. I have house sat friends and families before and always send an absurd amount of photos to owners of their fur baby (that’s at least what I prefer) and I have no problem communicating any uncertainties, questions, or concerns to an owner. I would rather be safe than sorry always. I do not have a lot of senior care experience but would love to learn. I took care of a few cases where there were medications twice daily but I know there are more extreme senior care situations I won’t pretend to know how to do but I am eager to do my research and learn from the owner! Fairly flexible. I am a student and barista. My barista job is part time with the average shift lasting around 4 hours and the absolute most I could be scheduled for is 7hrs but that rarely happens. It is also a flexible job where I can get easy covers if needed or swap shifts. I take the better safe than sorry approach when caring for any pet whether it is someone else’s or my own. I will do my research on something I am unsure about which is the reason I have learned so much about my own pet’s compromised immune system. This is why I will not be housing any pets myself but I have practiced many different bio security measures and feel confident all animals will be safe and happy. I am a big communicator and if I have concerns questions or uncertainties I will not hesitate to just ask.

“Shawna went above and beyond as a cat sitter. When my naughty kittens made messes, she diligently documented and cleaned them up for me. She also offered solutions, including bringing her own water bowl, to ensure they had a sufficient water supply after repeatedly unplugging their fountain. Both cats quickly took to Shawna, not just because she generously brought them toys but also due to her kind and caring nature. I will definitely be checking her availability the next time I need a cat sitter!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover since I could remember. I’m currently a recent UC Davis graduate that majored in wildlife, fish & conservation biology. I lived in the Bay Area before & was constantly pet sitting. I would take care of pets from birds to dogs & cats to turtles, going for walks, feeding meals & administering medication such as insulin. I'm currently working full time Mondays through Thursday so I have plenty of time to give your pets all the love and care they need Friday though Sunday! I always check the pet as soon as I see them to make sure they are happy and healthy, I can provide them with the attention and care they need!

I have full availability on the weekends, any day before 10am, and after 3pm Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays! Need a different time/availability? I’m not able to host pets in my own home, but I’m happy to provide care in my client’s home where pets are most comfortable and familiar. I follow each pet’s normal routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and any special instructions. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship, and I take time to build trust with shy or nervous animals. I always keep the home clean and secure, respect house rules, and send photo and text updates so owners can feel at ease while they’re away.

I’ll be attentive, caring and sweet with your little friends, bringing them the comfort and calm they need when you’re not home ❤️ I’m currently a student at UC Davis with a part-time job, so I will be available for pet sitting every other day normally after 12pm (noon) I can easily find a space in your home where the pet feels more at comfort and I’ll act quickly and proactively when I notice something is needed.
