“Dawns was absolutely fantastic with our Border Collie and Mini Schnauzer for our 10 day vacation. She went above and beyond! We will definitely use her for all of our future dog sitting jobs.”

“Lori is incredible, she goes above and beyond for our high-energy rescue dog, Levi. She has quickly become one of his favorite people! She sends detailed updates along with pictures each visit, and is very flexible. Life has thrown us some pretty crazy curveballs recently which we are pushing through. Having Lori has enabled us to have one less thing to worry about, because we know our boy is safe, happy and well cared for when we aren’t there. Thank you Lori for all you do :)”

“Oriana was great with our cats. She updated us with pictures of our cats daily and we felt completely at ease knowing they were being taken care of. I would highly recommend Oriana to watch your pets and we'll definitely be reaching out to her in the future.”

“Maria was great with our Golden Retriever Penny! She did drop ins for us and was very intuitive with Penny's needs and accommodating of our requests. Maria was patient even with Penny’s intense greeting energy and took her on walks and gave her some needed affection while we were gone. Maria is professional and caring. We will definitely use her again in the future.”

“Sabrina is a very warm and kind young woman. She took very good care of our Sammy. She sent many pictures of him which was wonderful to see. When we came home from our 2 week vacation, everything was fine and Sammy looked like she kept him groomed. We would definitely call on her again.”

“Maria is so caring of our pup! We felt very comfortable knowing that our dog was well taken care of and genuinely cared for. She’s very open with communication which was very appreciated. She’s a great choice when you’re looking for a sitter!”

“Elizabeth is amazing!! Elizabeth was very prompt from the meet and greet. She was even willing to add another visit if we were unable to make it back in time. I woukd recimmend her.”

“Morgan was so wonderful! Needed a mid day drop-in for my senior dog. Reached out with only a day or so notice (my fault) and Morgan was able to help no problem! Always nice to have a sitter in the area you can count on and trust, Morgan is definitely on my list ᵕ̈”

“Harry did an excellent job in taking care of our babies We appreciated the daily updates as Mom was worried. We will definitely use him again. Thanks for the care and service.”

About: Besides caring for my own dog for nearly 13 years, including nearly a year of hospice care, I also have experience volunteering at animal sanctuaries and cat-sitting for roommates and neighbors. I consider companion animals to be family members, and the care I provide reflects that belief. I work from home, and my schedule is flexible, so I’m easily able to accommodate anything an animal in my care needs. I can provide multiple walks, feedings, and potty breaks a day, whether at your house or mine. Because I work remotely, I’m able to keep your dog or cat company all day. I have a fenced backyard, though it’s small, and I live near a dog park. I have a small crate and a larger soft-sided kennel that can be used if that’s something that makes your dog feel more comfortable; otherwise, pets are free to roam and are welcomed on furniture. I have steps to help smaller or senior dogs get on the couch, and there’s a dog bed in every room of my house. I only board for one client at a time, so your dog(s) will have my full attention while you're away, and you'll never have to worry about interactions with other pets. In addition to the Rover Guarantee, I'm also privately insured as a pet-sitter through PCI, so your pets are well-covered.
“We're repeat clients. Kristin does a great job with our cats, very respectful, friendly, and helpful. She was on time daily and provided thoughtful pics and feedback after each visit. Great service, thanks so much! 🙂”

About: Hi there! I’m Kiet! A passionate and attentive pet caregiver with experience caring for dogs, cats, and even reptiles. I genuinely love spending time with animals and making sure they’re happy, healthy, and comfortable while their humans are away. I’m especially skilled with pets who need a little extra care. Both of my cats require a special medical diet, so I’m very comfortable preparing and following precise feeding instructions. I also have experience with anxious animals, my cat Robin is quite shy and sensitive, so I understand the importance of creating a calm and reassuring environment. Whether it’s feeding schedules, potty breaks, medication, or simply providing companionship, I take the responsibility of pet care seriously. I’ve recently moved back home and currently have open availability! I’m more than happy to take care of your companion for extended period. Thank you! At the moment I am not taking any care from my own home as I share a house with roommates. Thank you for your understanding!
“This was the second time requesting Faith as our wonderful dog sitter!! Responded quickly, sent the cutest photos and worked with our special requests for two miniature dachshunds. I would highly recommend Faith as your next dog sitter :)”

“Nicoletta was great with my two cats, even the shy one that mostly hid from her. She sends lots of photos from visits and is very communicative. I look forward to having her watch the kitties again soon.”

About: I have been surrounded by cats since I was a baby. I currently have two cats and would love to take care of yours like it was mine! I was trying to make a cat only profile but I could not find the only option. I'm currently trying to build a playpen out of my garage to board cats only. Each cat will have a big size enclosure and have individual brakes to play and roam around the playpen by himself. I plan to keep them separate from other possible guest cats to avoid any physical confrontation. You can bring your own food, toys and bed. Let me know if you have any questions or if you cat needs any special accommodations. I'll hope to hear from you!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hartley. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
