About: I’ve grown up with multiple dogs and dog sat for social workers and psychologists that I used to work for. I grew up with and took care of welsh terriers, wire fox terriers, and Scottish terriers. I’ve dog sat mutts, pit bulls, and Australian shepherds. I take great care to follow instructions for your fur babies and to treat them with love and respect. ** I have base access ** I currently am in school 2 days out of the week. The rest of the time I’m at home, doing homework, or cooking. Would love to help out homes in my neighborhood that want to make sure their pets get what they need! I follow the instructions to a T. You know your pets the best and what they respond to and not. I’m not here to experiment or try anything new. Just a fill in for you and what you would normally be doing.

About: Some people innately connect with animals. Maybe this cannot be taught or learned. Even those animals who "don't like anyone" like me. It's a gift. Perhaps they can tell I'm a gentle giant and it makes them feel safe and protected. Whether cat or dog or some other creatures, I will lavish affection and attention on them (if they're into that). Or simply let them call the shots until they're ready to warm up a bit more. As a large, fit dude, I can manage even the strongest dogs, but I'm nimble and delicate with the smaller ones and cats. It comes naturally, and your pets will sense it. Summertime affords more flexibility for me as a teacher. I do have another PT gig currently on Tuesdays & Thursdays in the afternoons. But I'm mostly available the other 5 days for now, and am willing to spend time with your pets before and after shifts on days I work. For many years, I've cared for dozens of friends' pets. During a typical pet sitting stay I aim to spend nor more than 2-8 hours away from the house depending on the needs of the animals. Keeping animals in a familiar routine is my main focus. Whatever their usual daily schedule looks like (feeding times, walks, bedtime, etc) is what I try to recreate. With dogs I like to do a minimum of 3 walks a day followed by some of their favorite activities. I believe pets should be checked on morning, afternoon and evening at minimum. I like to follow the routine of the pets parents to a T so as to not disturb the pets while their families are gone. I think having a routine is important for a pet especially when their people/family are gone.
