“Sarah is always great with Cooper. She snuggles with him after his walk and communicates how things went during the drop in visit. Excellent sitter! Will be using her again!”

“We had the pleasure of working with Erika for the first time. She arrived early, communicated well and ensured our dogs were well fed, active and comfortable. We appreciated the updates and photos. I highly recommend Erika for anyone looking for a responsible and caring sitter!”

About: I've been surrounded by animals my entire life and truly believe that pets are family. In my professional life, I am a social worker, and caring for others has always been at the heart of who I am. That same compassion extends to animals, and I recognize the important role they play in our lives as companions, sources of comfort, and beloved members of the family. As a dedicated and dependable house sitter, I provide loving, attentive care while ensuring your home is safe, secure, and well-maintained during your absence. My experience includes caring for dogs, cats, birds, and small animals, each with their own unique personalities and needs. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply maintaining their regular routine, I take the time to make them feel comfortable, loved, and secure while you're away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with both your pets and your home, and I pride myself on being responsible, communicative, and detail-oriented. I'll care for your pets as if they were my own and provide regular updates so you can have peace of mind knowing they are receiving exceptional care and attention. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. As a social worker, I have built my career around caring for others, and I enjoy providing the same level of attention and compassion to animals. I am organized, dependable, and able to plan my schedule around the needs of the pets in my care. Whether it's feeding, walks, playtime, administering medications, or simply providing companionship, I make sure each pet receives consistent attention and care. I also work well with established routines and will do my best to maintain your pet's normal schedule to help them feel comfortable and secure while you're away. My goal is always to keep things as normal and stress-free as possible for the pets in my care. Whether I am caring for pets in my home or in a client's home, I follow their established routines for feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and rest. I understand that pets thrive on consistency, so I take the time to learn their preferences, habits, and unique personalities. I provide plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and companionship while ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I also maintain open communication with pet owners and provide regular updates so they can have peace of mind while they are away.
“Amy is fantastic! Very friendly and really bonded with our two crazy cats. Lots of pictures which we appreciate being away. Felt very confident my kitties and plants were in good hands.”

“Cristal has been absolutely amazing with our girl. For drop-in visits she provides updates with photos that gives us so much joy. Definitely trust Cristal and will rebook in the future. Also has great communication and flexibility with scheduling.”

About: I’ve worked in animal care for years now and have taken care of my own pets for years before that. I have experience with a huge variety of sizes and breeds! I’m well versed in animal behavior and temperaments. I’ve worked with puppies all the way up to senior pets who may need a little extra care or attention. I have my own pets as well and have a deep understanding how much they can mean to us. I’m currently working on my certificate for dog grooming! I have yet to start school but this is a dream I’ve had for a while now. At the moment, I’m almost completely open for sitting. I think enrichment is very important for pets. For dogs, getting outside is a must. Many breeds require a lot of stimulation throughout the day in order to stay healthy in mind and body alike. For cats, some are independent players and toys are a must. Others may like to play with a person and that’s an activity that’s very important for them. I personally feed my animals once in the morning, once at night. My dog typically gets at least one walk a day and I make sure to take him out 2-3 times a day for potty breaks. Or even more if he lets me know he has to go. My one cat is an independent player so I leave her toys in her favorite places.

“Stephanie was great! We have two crazy dogs with a lot of energy so it was great that Stephanie was so flexible with her schedule so the dogs weren't cooped up in the house all day. She fed them and let them run around in the yard. I will definitely have her come by again in the future!”

“Evelyn stepped up to provide care for my two cats last minute. She was great with them both. I appreciate her constant communication and check-ins with pictures. Will definitely try to book her next time I’m needing someone to look after my animals!”

About: I have grown up with all kinds of animals! Currently have 3 loving and friendly dog along with 1 cat! They love when friends come over and they have someone to play with! We go on walks, love to be outside in our fenced in our back yard and snuggling up on the couch! My fur babies and I can’t wait to meet you and your fur babies! I do have 3 children so being good around kids for stays with me is a must! Thank you! I am currently a full time stay at home mom, so I will be home with your pets all day long! We like to spend a lot of the day out in the fenced in backyard, and getting cozy on the couch afterwards for a nap! We have a monthly bark box subscription, so we have plenty of toys to play with! I have a big fenced in yard, and sweet dogs, eager to meet some new friends to play with! We do not have crates at my home, but always welcome to stay consistent with your preference of crate training if necessary!
“We have never had anyone watch our dogs besides family before Grace. The pups loved going on a walk with her and then again when she came to let them out and spend some time with them. She follows all the instructions we leave and went above and beyond to make sure everything was locked up and waited outside until we were able to arm our systems. We are happy to have someone we can trust when we go out of town now!”

About: I know how important my dog's well-being and daily routine is to me, and I would love to help keep your dog in their routine! I have experience caring for and training dogs of all types, and will cater to senior dogs, medical needs, or special needs such as sensitive, selective, or reactive dogs. In my spare time I volunteer with my therapy dog Reese, and have experience fostering and training dogs using positive reinforcement. I know how hard it is to be away from your pet but I can assure a safe and successful walk, sit, or stay! I am a teacher, and currently available full time for animal care! Available on weekdays, for stop-ins during the work day, or over holiday weekends. In your home, I can offer lots of your dog's favorite exercise for every season. Depending on their activity level, we can take walks, runs, or just breaks/sniffs. I always clean up after dogs and demonstrate responsible dog ownership in your neighborhood! For stays at my house: the yard is huge, and backs to forest preserve property and pond, but the yard is unfenced so I am diligent about leashes.
About: Been a caretaker of everyone all my life 🤭 and my household has always has pets, especially dogs but also cats, bunnies, birds so I’m equipped for just about anything plus I love to have fun! I currently work from home for my clothing business so I make my own hours making me ready and available whenever you need me so don’t hesitate for same day appointments. My history with pets, attentive nature and patience will enable me to meet your pet wherever they are with training and enhance your pet’s behavior skills no problem.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Windenoak. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
