“Kim was great with our dachshund. She’s very caring and communicative. She sent photos and updates so we knew our dog was in good hands. Can’t wait to book again when it’s warm for our dog to run around in her fenced backyard!”

“Angela & Dave took great care of Scout. Angela was very communicative and sent photo updates throughout the stay. Scout made new friends with their dogs and the others staying too.”

“Mary and Norman were wonderful. They sent photo updates each day and let me know how things were going. I could tell that my dog was very comfortable with them and will definitely use them again!”

“Jayne was amazing - definitely the best caretaker I have worked with thus far. Gumbo absolutely loved her and it showed through in all the pictures she sent me (major plus as it makes me feel more secure with being away). Jayne really went above and beyond - taking notes when I was going over his daily routine and even helping me carry back all his supplies at the end of the day. We will definitely be using her going forward and would highly recommend her to other users in the midtown east area. Thanks for everything Jayne!!”

I love being active and spending time with animals, so pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m happy to work around your pets normal schedule whenever possible. Making sure your pet feels safe and comfortable is always my first priority. My training at Midwest School of Dog Grooming taught me proper handling and safety techniques for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I’ve also attended dog safety seminars and am dog CPR certified. I’ll respect your pets routine, your home, and any specific instructions you leave for me
“Debbie and Tom are awesome! This is the first time we have left our dog and didn’t worry a bit! You can tell they are both animal lovers! Our dog does best if she gets a walk in for the day and they had perfect setup in neighborhood and were willing to. Even though it’s a 30 min drive we will not hesitate to use Debbie and Tom for our next getaway!! 5 star sitters for sure!!!”

“Veronique is a true professional with years of experience as a groomer, trainer and caretaker of dogs and animals of all kinds! She clearly loves animals and is very thoughtful and intentional with their care. We felt very confident leaving our two goldens with her and they had a great time! She has a huge backyard and a very pet-friendly home. She sent regular photos and videos of their stay. They were treated just like her own dogs. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be returning in the future!”

“We are so glad to have found Carla! She watched our beloved Bernese Mountain Dog for 10 days and he was so well cared for and loved by her family. It was so nice knowing he was in a happy and loving home while we were away. He had lots of outdoor exercise and play time with Carla’s two pups. She was also very communicative and sent lots of pics and videos, which was much appreciated. Carla was also super flexible when our flight was delayed and we got into town late. We’ll definitely be contacting her again next time we need a sitter!”

About: Hello! My name is Jordan. I have been freelance dog walking and pet sitting for a decade now. Beyond that, I have also volunteered at many animal shelters and have owned many pets. This is, by far, the most enjoyable and rewarding job I’ve ever had. My hours are flexible, and I'm more than comfortable playing, walking, administering medicine, and working with your dog's dietary needs. Walks and daily playtime/activity will be provided. Working with animals is a passion of mine, and it’s something I put my heart and soul into. I know how important pets are, so I will treat yours like my own, with love, patience, and care. :) I’m currently working part time, and I usually work online. This gives me a lot of time to spend with your dog/cat to make him or her comfortable and keep them engaged and entertained. I treat every dog like they are my own; I want your dog to feel cared for and comfortable while you are away. Rather than have it be a stressful time, I’d like to make it a vacation for your pet as well.
“Wow, I was very happy with my dog Riri's overall stay. This was my first time using Rover.com, I was a little worried but I am so glad I did. Riri is a rescue, she has separation anxiety. Taking Riri to Aesia's home, she look comfortable and relax, this is rare for her. I am so happy that Aesia enjoyed Riri as well. My husband is in the military, this service is prefect for us because we are new to the area and and it's nice to know we already found someone that Riri feels comfortable staying with if we need a sitter. ”

“We wanted to express our sincere appreciation for your exceptional care of my anxious dog while we were on vacation. It was a relief knowing you kept him comfortable and safe, especially with his anxiety. We also really appreciated you keeping him separate from your cat due to my daughter's allergies – it showed a real dedication to his well-being and consideration for my family. The updates and photos you sent were so reassuring. Thanks again for going above and beyond! Will definitely take Cody back on our next vacation😊”

“We had a wonderful experience with Balaji. We needed a sitter for our two week international trip and were nervous because this was our one-year-old toy poodle's first time being away from us. From the very beginning, Balaji reassured us that our dog would be well cared for. He even offered a short trial stay at his home so our dog could become familiar with the environment before the boarding stay. During that two hour trial stay, Balaji sent us photos and videos, which gave us confidence that our dog was comfortable and in good hands. Throughout the two week boarding period, Balaji sent multiple photos and videos every day, allowing us to see that our dog was comfortable and receiving good care. He was also very responsive and replied to our messages very quickly. Knowing that our dog was in such caring hands made it much easier for us to enjoy our trip. We highly recommend Balaji to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!”

“Kyle did a great job watching Bailey. There were times in the past with other sitters where Bailey would come back traumatized and take a few days to get back to normal. After being with Kyle for four days Bailey was fine returning home. I think being the only dog at Kyle’s house is a big plus. We received periodic picture and video updates which help relieve our anxiety during the trip. We have no reservations in asking Kyle to watch Bailey again.”
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Wildwood
My dog had only been boarded once in her life and it wasn't a good experience so I was hesitant about leaving her again. However, Megan's house was a home away from home for her. There were dogs to play with, couches to sleep on come up and a yard to run around in. You could tell right away that Megan loves dogs. She also understood my worry about leaving Riley for a long period of time and sent us many messages, photos, and videos that showed how well she was doing. The next time I need boarding, I would definitely choose Megan.

Allison and Jason were phenomenal! I did boarding at their house over a holiday weekend. They did great keeping my pup happy and healthy. She came home worn out (in a good way) and did lots of relaxing. I love the amount of attention and stimulation they were able to provide her. I could tell she had a great time! I will definitely rebook with them in the future if I’m able.

Our experience was wonderful. Our dog had the best time staying with Jordan, getting lots of love, interactions, and playtime. Jordan made it really easy for us to have a relaxing vacation, knowing that our dog was taken care of. Our pup (and family) is so glad to have found a new friend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Wildwood home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Wildwood.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Wildwood sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
