I couldn't be more pleased with Benjamin's exceptional dog walking services. He walked my beloved dog, Ty Chi, for a week twice a day, and the care and attention he provides are truly outstanding. From the very first walk, it was evident that Benjamin has a genuine passion for dogs. He takes the time to understand my dog's unique needs and personality, ensuring that Ty Chi always feels comfortable and happy. Benjamin's care for details is remarkable—he meticulously follows all instructions regarding Ty Chi's specific needs. He even takes the time to update me with photos and notes after each walk, which I greatly appreciate. Punctuality is another one of Benjamin's strengths. He has never missed a scheduled walk and always arrives on time, ready to give Ty Chi the exercise and attention he needs. This reliability gives me peace of mind, knowing that my dog is in capable and trustworthy hands. What truly sets Benjamin apart is his attention to detail. He notices the little things that make a big difference, such as adjusting the leash to ensure Ty Chi's comfort to make the walk even more enjoyable. His thoughtful approach shows how much he cares about the dogs he walks. I highly recommend Benjamin to anyone in need of a dog walker who is not only professional and reliable but also genuinely cares about the well-being of your pet. Ty Chi and I are incredibly grateful for Benjamin's outstanding service and look forward to many more walks together!

About: I've always loved helping with dog-sitting and watching friends' and family's dogs. My experience includes working with small and large breeds, as well as puppies and senior dogs. I have recently trained our puppy to follow commands, go on long and short walks, and socialize with other dogs. Taking care of a senior dog required extra attention and consideration to meet their needs, such as giving medications, carrying them to the yard when needed to go to the bathroom, and being aware of their health needs. I always make sure to fulfill the needs of the dogs and the owners' requests. This allows people to rely on me to take good care of their pets. Currently studying at Sac. State, but with free time and an open schedule for the summer, leaving me plenty of time to take care of pets. During the school year, I am also available during the week and on weekends. I have a good-sized backyard with grass and plenty of space for multiple dogs to play and run around. I have a dog who is well socialized and enjoys playing with others. I have trained my dog to follow commands, go on walks, and is potty trained. I also have a large crate if needed.

I got pictures of each walk and a walk tracker so I could see how far and long they walked. I was extremely happy with Christel and will definitely use her again next time I need a dog walker!

Ryan can walk your dogs up to 5 miles per day and is home full-time. We have had pets in the past, but don't have any pets of our own at this time. We take up to three animals for boarding/daycare at a time, but only from the same family. We are loving, gentle, and fun and had dogs and cats growing up. We have a nice sized yard and live in a single story house. Our boys are looking forward to helping us care for your pet, whether it is walking your dog, boarding your dog or cat, or playing with your fur-baby. We'll take dogs up to 50 lbs in our home, up to 60 lbs for walks, and up to 75 lbs for drop-ins in your home. Only spayed/neutered animals please. For overnight stays, please have no more than 24 hours between drop-off and pick-up times. If picked up over 24 hours after dropped off, there may be a fee for 1 day of doggie daycare. Drop off and pick up times outside of 8am and 8pm may be negotiated. We are looking forward to helping our boys care for your pet. You can rest assured that your fur baby will be happy and well cared for in our loving home while you are away. We are available during the week, weekends, and holidays. We have a fenced-in yard and ensure boarded pets are safe and secure in our one-story home. We offer all services except for house-sitting at this time. Andrea works from home full-time and Ryan is a stay-at-home parent, so someone is home almost round-the-clock. When we do need to go out, we can either crate the dog(s) or put them in the bathroom. About: Hi, I’m Nicole 👋 A lifelong animal lover and someone who truly enjoys helping animals in my everyday life. I work from home, which means pups are part of my daily routine and are never left alone for long periods. My flexible schedule allows me to give all fur babies steady attention and care in a calm environment throughout the day. I only accept a limited number of pups at a time so each one gets real attention, structure, and a peaceful home setting — this is not an overcrowded experience with lots of dogs. I also have a pup of my own named Bowie, who is mamas little sidekick and the heart of our home. 🐶 About Bowie Bowie is a 3 year old tricolor show line beagle and my adventure dog. He goes almost everywhere with me and rarely leaves my side. He’s friendly, playful, confident, and well-socialized with other dogs. I often find that he helps create a relaxed, yet fun and natural home environment for visiting friends. 🏡 What your pup can expect * A calm, clean, home-based environment with consistent supervision * Regular walks and outdoor time * Attention and companionship throughout the day * A structured but relaxed daily routine * A safe, comfortable space where they are treated like family 💛 My approach I pay close attention to each dog’s personality, comfort level, and emotional needs. Some dogs want play, some want space, and some just need calm reassurance — I adjust my care to what helps them feel secure and settled. My goal is simple: help your dog feels safe, understood, and at home while you’re away. Since I work at my desk, Bowie spends most of his time playing with visiting pups, so pet parents can feel peace of mind knowing their pups are in good company. WFH also allows me to be flexible with scheduling and care for a variety of pets’ needs. I have a small patio for pup relaxation, and live within walking distance of great trails, streams, and parks that we visit daily. Bowie also has plenty of toys he’s happy to share.

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. While living in Australia, I spent two months walking and house sitting an Alaskan Malamute, which taught me a lot about handling large, high-energy dogs with care and confidence. I’ve also walked and cared for dogs belonging to friends and family, so I’m familiar with a variety of breeds and temperaments. On the feline side, I have three rescue cats of my own, all former strays, and I regularly foster kittens, so I’m experienced with cats of all ages; from bottle babies to seniors. I also love visiting cat sanctuaries just to spend time with the kitties. Whether it’s dogs or cats, I’m passionate about giving animals the love, attention, and respect they deserve. Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine because my schedule is currently wide open. I'm in between career paths right now, which gives me the flexibility and time to fully dedicate myself to the pets I care for. Whether it's early morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening visits, I can easily adapt to your pet’s schedule and needs. This also means I’m available for last-minute bookings and longer stays when needed. Caring for animals brings me a lot of joy, and I love being able to make it a meaningful part of my daily life. When I care for pets in a client’s home, my top priority is to ensure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved; just as they would if you were home. During house sitting, I stay in your home and closely follow your pet’s usual routine, whether that includes feeding, medication, walks, playtime, or quiet companionship. I also keep your home clean, secure, and tidy, watering plants if needed, and making sure everything is just as you left it. For drop-in visits, I provide personalized care and attention, including feeding, fresh water, cleaning litter boxes or backyard potty breaks, administering medications when required, and spending quality time playing or cuddling. Whatever your pet needs to feel relaxed and cared for while you're away. When it comes to dog walking, safety is always my number one priority. I use secure harnesses or leashes, avoid busy or high-traffic areas, stay alert to other animals and potential distractions, and tailor each walk to your dog’s pace and energy level. I never walk dogs off-leash and always ensure they’re hydrated and comfortable before and after each outing. Plus, I send regular updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for.

If you need a pet sitter/dog walker, without hesitation I highly recommend River. River comes with experience volunteering at an animal shelter and having dogs throughout her life. From the start, River kept me informed upon her arrival, start of walk, took photos during the time she was with my dog, and return time and route. She would also spend some time with me after my dog’s walk to answer any questions I had and make sure my dog had some water and a little treat before she left. River is a very kind person who genuinely cares for dogs. I was truly impressed and grateful she was able to help me out in a crunch. It was a relief to know while I was out of pocket on a medical issue , my dog was still able to have a great time on his daily walks and “sniff-ari” with someone I am comfortable and confident with. My dog is special needs (blind and deaf) and River provided a peace of mind for me with her dog handling skills, and fun and luv on walks for my dog. I will definitely hire River the next time I need a pet sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
