“Davina and her family were so good to Arnie I was afraid he may not come home! Very proactive and responsive communication and pictures so you know your fur baby is happy! She even made homemade doggy treats and personalized each dog’s initial! Beyond exemplary!”

“AMAZING service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dogs came back home happy & i had constant communication with Elias during the dogs stay, which was great, he even sent a few videos and pictures of the dogs at his house during the stay that made me miss them a little less; would and will repeat without a doubt! Thank you!”

“Angela has been great in taking care of my Bichon. She has been kind and nice to make my dog very comfortable and my dog come home very happy been able to playing with other small dog. “Anwar was so great with my Pit mix and you could tell his love for animals the moment you meet him. My dog seems like he really enjoyed his stay and I am so grateful to have someone like Anwar to trust and take care of my pit while I was away.”

“Jessica is probably the best Rover we had Nugget board at! She was so sweet to him and Nugget misses her island girl, Priscilla, so much. He had an amazing time playing with all the dogs. He probably thought Jessica is his new mom so he was def sad to come home to us but overall we will be leaving Nugget with her again. We were so at ease while on vacation and what else could you ask for when you see your dog also on a vacation at Jessica’s house!”

“Anish & Aaheli were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel comfortable leaving our dog in their care. I especially appreciated the frequent updates and photos throughout the day—it was reassuring to know he was happy and being well taken care of. I would absolutely recommend them and would happily book with them again!”

“Carly and her family were attentive foster parents for our two higher-maintenance rescue pups. Easy initial meeting, great home with expansive backyard for the dogs to play, friendly family dog. Responsive to messages and shared great photos while we were away. Will use them again!”

“Dawn was amazing it with our pup! She walked her, had a fenced yard, a puppy friend, and obviously a true pet lover. She also provided regular updates and was receptive to her needs. Highly recommend and will book again. Thanks, Dawn!!”

“Steven and his family have taken very good care of our dog and provided updates everyday with pictures. We highly recommend Steven and will definitely use their services again.”

About: I love dogs. They are the best. I have raised two dogs who have since passed and have fostered dogs of all sizes, ages and special conditions. I enjoy spoiling dogs with all the love and attention. I work from home, I am always in the house for the most part. I encourage walks and fetch and any other activity the dog may require. I give dogs free rein of the house. It’s dog friendly. I have a fenced yard and crates if they need to be crated. I can administer medicine or anything else they may need dietary wise.
“Kim was so gentle and kind with my older dog. He can get nervous in new situations but I can tell he was totally comfortable with her which put my mind at ease while I was away. We received photos and updates every day and our dog looked so happy! I would definitely rebook with Kim in a heartbeat. Thank you for taking care of Rookie!”

“Angela will be with my dog and my dog love her she was friendly and she took care of my dog. Perfect I don’t think my dog miss me that well because she was excellent. She pick her up and drop her off. She fed the dog and walked her for a couple of time.”

“We initially wanted neighbors for our dog DiDi. However, because our 19 days of travel overlapped with the Labor Day weekend, no neighbor was available. So, we decided Rover might be able to vet a caregiver. We found the perfect person, Marie! Owning a small dog, she is a very experienced care giver, and well worth the expense for our peace of mind. We would consider Marie of our first choice during our next out-of-town travel.”

“Catherine was extremely attentive and caring for our Mabel! She came back super excited and very well-cared for. Catherine is a great choice, especially if your dog tends to be more comfortable in a setting without other dogs!”

“Stephanie is an excellent dog sitter, very knowledgeable on anything to do with dogs. Love all the pictures she sends when my dog is with her. Will definitely use her again in the future”

About: There is nothing I love more than dogs, except maybe cats. I have always been passionate about taking care of my animals and have always been relied on by family and friends for the same in both official and unofficial capacities. I can’t wait to become best friends with your pets! I am currently home full time and would have ample time to engage with your pets, walk them, and play with them. This can occur in your home or mine. My home has plenty of space to run around. I live in a beautifully grassy complex with a fenced dog yard 50 feet from my front door. I have a very friendly dog who also doesn’t mind being in the bedroom if your dog needs space. I’m also happy to ask all the questions I need to make sure your pets are very happy and satisfied in your own home if that’s where care takes place.
“Whitney and Michael took amazing care of Esther. Esther seems to have really enjoyed the stay and was kept entertained and loved by their young daughters. They did a great job of keeping us updated with cute photos. :) 10/10 would recommend Whitney and Michael’s home as a great place to board your dog!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - White Horse
Our first time leaving our dog and he had a great time with Chastidy and her pups! She did a great job introducing them so our dog Luka felt comfortable. She took great care of him, kept us up to date on how he was doing and he had a great stay. Will be using Chastidy again and can’t recommend her enough!

Sarah was amazing! We have never done rover so we were a bit worried to try it out but once we talked with Sarah we knew our dog Tennley would be in good hands. Sarah made us feel so comfortable and I know Tennley had such a happy and safe stay. We were traveling to the area for an event but if we were closer would 100% use her again!

Thank you so much for your love and support for Poppy. She has been pampered by you guys. Thanks for all the regular updates and also accommodating us to change the schedule as needed due to unforseen events. We really cherish this and feel at peace that she is in safe hands.

We were so happy to meet Karly and her wonderful family! They took exceptional care of our dog and kept us updated throughout the entire stay by sending us regular photos and videos. It was obvious from every update that our dog was incredibly happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Karly and her family are kind, responsible, and truly love animals. We felt completely at ease knowing our dog was in such great hands. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy and caring pet sitters!

We had an amazing experience with Andrea! She was absolutely wonderful with our dog, and it was clear from the start that he felt comfortable and happy with her. She and her family treated him like he was truly part of the crew, which gave me so much peace of mind. She sent pictures throughout the day, and in every single one he looked relaxed, loved, and having a great time. I couldn't have asked for better care. I would 100% recommend her to anyone in the area and can't wait to have my dog stay with her again! Thanks, Andrea!!! 🫶

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their White Horse home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your White Horse.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your White Horse sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
