Josh has been so great with our girl, Nala! He has been very reliable & Nala seems to really like him! She is a bigger dog & tends to pull a bit, and also is a bit reactive towards other dogs, but Josh is able to handle her just fine! I feel very comfortable with Josh walking Nala for us every week. Highly recommend him for your fur babies!

About: I go the extra mile for the dogs in my care. I have over 12 years experience fostering dogs with special medical needs so giving medications or IV fluids is not an issue. I only feed holistic food and treats and purchase toys made in the USA. I will treat your pets like they were my own. I love to exercise and run so if your dog is active, I am the sitter for you. My own pets are very friendly to other dogs I can separate your dogs from my own. My cats and caged pets are kept away from the dogs so interaction is not an issue if your dog does not like them. I have had dogs and cats for over 40 years and have excellent references from adopters and current clients.

About: I’m friendly, caring, and love spending time with animals. I have a dog of my own and grew up with a dog, so I understand how important it is to give pets plenty of love, playtime, and cuddles. I’m currently a part-time student, so I have some extra flexibility in my schedule. This allows me to dedicate time throughout the week to caring for pets, whether it’s for walks, playtime, or pet sitting. I have a dog of my own who loves having other dogs around, so your pet will have some company if they stay with me. I don’t have a fenced-in yard, but I’m happy to take dogs on walks, visit a dog park, and play with them indoors. I’m also more than happy to come to your home and care for your pet in their familiar environment.

About: I have 20 years of pet experience, from having my own animals since I was a little girl to volunteering and working at animal shelters for dogs and cats. I've seen a lot and learned a lot while working in animal shelters. I have also done a lot of pet sitting. I am experienced with diabetic animals; my one cat was diabetic and had heart disease. I would check his sugar levels and give him insulin along with his heart medication. I knew at a very young age that I wanted to work with animals. I am very compassionate towards them, and they are very drawn to me. I will always make sure your pet is safe and well taken care of while in my care.🐶❤️😻🐾 My schedule can be flexible to meet your pet's needs. Please contact me for more information at your convenience. I look forward to meeting you and your pet. My family and friends know how much I love animals. If someone they know needs a pet sitter or just someone to check on their cat or dog, they always recommend me. They know how compassionate I am towards animals and that they will be safe and treated like family in my care.

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 30 years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. From playful puppies to senior pets needing a little extra patience and attention, I’ve cared for them all—and I truly treat every animal like family. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big deal, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether it’s a fun, energizing walk or a calm, reassuring visit, I adjust my care to fit your pet’s unique personality and needs. I currently offer dog walking and drop-in visits for both dogs and cats. During visits, I can provide feeding, fresh water, playtime, litter box or yard clean-up, medication (if needed), and lots of affection and attention. I’m reliable, communicative, and happy to send updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them isn’t just something I do—it’s something I genuinely love. I’d be honored to care for your pet as if they were my own! I'm currently working part-time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. I can usually pet walk/drop in or pet sit on the other days. I prefer to care for pets in their own environment because that's where they feel most comfortable. The safety of your pet is the most important thing to me.

About: I’ve been a pet owner since 1985 and I’ve fostered over 70 cats and dogs over the past 20 years through an Animal Rescue Project that I continue to volunteer for. My home is designed for pets. No rugs and comfy furniture covered with pet hair. In my Florida home, I do not have a fenced in yard but I have a lovely dog friendly community to take long walks in. I specialize in seniors, special needs pets or pets on a medicine schedule. I love puppies too. Cats are also welcome in my home. Your dog or cat will be treated just like family. I’d also be happy to care for your pet in your home. I am a snow bird who spends my winters in South East Florida and Summers in my home state of New Jersey. I’m retired so your pets routine will be my priority. I have a fenced in yard and enjoy walking in the near by Abbott Marshlands. My home is pet friendly. My community is dog friendly with plenty of interesting walking opportunities. I am happy to sit for your pet in your home as well. My New Jersey home has a fenced in yard and a house that is designed to accommodate canine and feline guests.

About: First and foremost, I love our furry little friends! I have a beautiful 4.5 year old Bluetick Coonhound/German Shepard mix named Scarlet & she is the love of my life. We love relaxing & snuggling together, walking, running, playing with a soccer ball & of course she loves being chased around with her toy. She is well trained unless she’s being her stubborn hound self! I also grew up with 3 cats and a Beagle/Chihuahua mix, which was my first dog at 17. Even at that age I would take her on walks in the park or neighborhood, plays games with her & give her all the love she wanted. She was a feisty one with medicating but she trusted me the most in doing it. I’ve worked at an animal clinic for over 8 years. I am well trained with medicating pets, senior pets & nervous/anxious pets. Even though my days during the week are filled with meeting new dogs/cats or seeing my favorite patients, there’s always room for more love to give! I work full time during the week at the animal hospital (Monday-Thursday) but I am available on weekends for those that work or have plans :) I make sure the pet’s collar/leash are well secured on them so there is no chance for them to get loose while on a walk. I will make sure all gates are closed. As part of being a vet tech I am trained in trimming nails & expressing anal glands, as well as knowing if there is an issue that needs to be addressed by a doctor. If your pet has any specific medical, food or behavioral needs I am very experienced to assist! :)

We truly hit the “jackpot” when we found Erika! First impressions speak volumes which most certainly put me at ease! Right off the bat, I knew my Jinky was going to love Erika! She showed up for every scheduled visit on time for her walks which were twice a day. On each walk, I got pictures and updates and Jinky got belly rubs and kisses! I already asked Erika about December and if she’d be available!!!! With that being said, there’s nobody else I’d want but Erika to take care of my FURBABY! She’s the BEST!

  • 88% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
