About: I've had animals of all kinds my entire life. I've had dogs of all sizes, cats of many kinds, guinea pigs, and even snakes. I've never met a pet I didn't love, and I'm known for unsocial animals warming up to me very quickly. I'm a huge animal lover and would love the opportunity to keep your fur baby company while you're away. I currently work full time in Nashville, but I do work from home two days a week. I can easily squeeze in some time to come check in on those days I am home, or I can stop by after I get home in the evening. I also have open availability during the weekend. My cat in my home gets the queen treatment, so I'd absolutely provide the same treatment for your fur baby. I provide all of the cuddles, pets, and play time to make for a happy pet.

I took a break to care for my ailing mother and then I became a Nanny to a newborn boy. He is now 4 years old and my services are no longer needed. I am also a missionary to Uganda. I care for cats as well as dogs. While I am in your home, I will also bring in your mail/packages, water your plants, and bring in or take out your trash bins. I have a fenced-in yard area. I will never leave your pups in the yard alone. I always sit with them. I can take them for daily walks as well. I don't use crates/kennels in my home. Your pet will be treated as my two Maltese dogs are.

About: Hi, I'm Marissa! I'm one of those people who, before I came out of my shell, spent more time with animals than people. Sometimes I still do. I've had dogs and cats all my life, and also rode horses starting just before I was 4. I have 7 years of experience on Rover and another 2 independently dog walking and sitting before that. I’ve cared for many kinds of dogs and cats, fish, turtles, donkeys, a family of racoons, and more. And I have a lot of experience caring for older animals and animals with medical conditions. I also used to volunteer with my mom transporting rescue dogs with Echo Dog White German Shepherd rescue. I am a homebody for the most part, so once I'm there I'm probably not going anywhere. My capital W Work is writing - I'm 13 years into an elven magic realism epic screenplay/novel series, it is my passion project and pet/housesitting gives me the time to tend to that vision, and fur babies to keep me company! Walking and playing with them keeps me active and in my beloved nature. It is a great joy to give people peace of mind while they travel, knowing their home and furbabies are in good hands. I know how stressful it can be - I was born in the Northeast and then moved to Nashville when I was 12 so my mom and I would drive up there to visit family, but we would often bring our dog and cats with us on that 13 hr ride because we didn’t have anyone we trusted to watch them. It’s a great time, unless it’s a family emergency. Now, I get to be that person for other people! My clients relaxing, knowing that they can have fun or do what needs doing and that their fur babies are taken care of at home - that is priceless and never gets old.
