About: Animals have been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember! I’ve grown up around both dogs and cats and have experience caring for my own pets as well as my family’s pets. I’ve helped with everyday care including feeding, providing fresh water, potty breaks, keeping them comfortable, and of course, giving them plenty of love, attention, and playtime. I genuinely love animals and take pride in creating a safe, happy, and comfortable environment for every pet I care for. I’m responsible, attentive, patient, and always happy to learn about each pet’s unique personality, routine, and individual needs. Whether your pet loves going for walks, playing, cuddling, or simply relaxing by your side, I’m excited to give them the care and attention they deserve! I look forward to continuing to grow my knowledge and experience while making sure every pet feels loved, safe, and right at home. 🐾❤️ I just got a new full time job Monday-Friday 2-11 PM I’ll be working 8 hour evenings. I’ll be happy to work around our schedules. My mom is allergic to most pets so I provide in-home pet care services. When I care for pets in their own home, I follow the specific instructions provided by the pet owners. This includes feeding them, giving them fresh water, taking them for walks, and providing playtime and companionship. I also ensure that their living space is clean and tidy. The goal is to make the pets feel comfortable and loved while their owners are away.

About: I have 8 years of experience multiple grooming facilities, doing bathing, nail trims, grooming, and working directly with our trainers and playcare department! I am also uniquely fully certified in dog CPR(yes, surprisingly a full certification course!) and first aid. I am very comfortable with dogs of almost every single breed, temperament, and size. I am also very experienced in basic first aid, and totally comfortable working with special needs animals. I have worked directly with training for behavioral and physical concerns for large breed animals as well. I am currently a college student with pretty open availability during the weekdays, and full availability on weekends. My schedule is subject to change pertaining to the usual semester ends, but does not fluctuate very far! I have a large fenced in yard, as well as many close walking trails. There are currently no other animals in the home, and there is a safe private room available for emergencies in addition to full range of the house. There are no stairs in my home.

About: I have had pets since I was a kid. I had dogs, cats, birds, fish, lizards, Guinea pigs. I currently have a husky now. I have a big heart for animals. I will help take care of any dog/cat. I am available after 3pm weekdays due to work and all day on weekends. If I can’t come for whatever reason, such my son being sick or an appointment, my boyfriend is able too. My dog is crate trained and he goes on walks daily. I will be able to take your dog out on walks and let them run in the backyard, if you have a fenced in yard. I will feed them and play with them and keep them stimulated.

About: Hi! My name is Cory and I am a lifelong animal lover. I’m the one you’ll find at the party sitting on the floor with the dog. Friends and family have trusted me for years to care for their fur babies while they are away. My husband and I live in Honeoye Falls with two 9-year old Cane Corsos and 3 cats. They are family to us and we know the importance of having someone you trust care for them when you can’t. I have experience administering medications if needed and understand each pet has their own unique set of needs and preferences. Does your dog refuse to eat if his bowl is on the hardwood floor and not the carpet? I get it. Does your cat need to drink from the sink, but only at the right water pressure? I get it. My goal is to build a relationship with you and your pets so I can provide the best care possible. I’m currently working full time, so evening drop ins and weekend care will be my primary focus for now. We can work together to find scheduling that fits your needs and I will be fully transparent with availability. I will require a meet and greet with you and your pet before accepting any new bookings. This allows me to see if my abilities match their unique needs, as well as your expectations and preferences.

About: I have taken care of both cats and dogs! I regularly babysit my boyfriends puppy and have a dog and 2 cats, and before that I had a golden retriever who unfortunately passed away from old age several years ago. I have also babysat my neighbors 2 dogs several times. I work from home managing my own business so my hours are very flexible, and I am available most days unless I have a previous commitment. I do not currently offer pet sitting at my home, but when in your home I will take every precaution to keep your pet safe and make sure they feel loved and are having fun!

About: I had a cat for 20 years and cage aninals when i was young. I have owned a dog with anxiety so patience was key. He needed Medication for that and his hips. I own two cats and a hedgehog. My cats come to a whistle, know how to sit and lay down, go to their blanket where ever it is. My older cat is great in the car and the younger cat I am currently training. I cut their nails and bathe them myself. Both are leash trained. I handle my hedgehog daily so that he is well socialized. My cats never bothered the rats or the hedgehog when let out of the cages. They would sleep woth the dog when no one was home. I work 12 hour over night shifts for my regular job. I am looking for day time and, when off night time or overnight opertunities to fit my shifting schedule. I work in Macedon and live in West Henrietta so I am flexible with locations. I am a quiet private person. I have two cats and a hedgehog. I previously owned rats, a dog, leopard gecko, and other caged animals Cages, boxes, bowls and, other cage items are cleaned daily as well as deep cleaning every 4 to 5 days or as needed. I enjoyed taking the dog as well as my cat for a walk! I have patience with animals with anxiety. I walk or handle pets that friends have such as snakes and birds.

About: I’ve lived with cats and dogs for my whole life, and have a lot of experience with them at all ages! I have primarily cared for medium-sized breeds, including a Siberian Husky and an Australian Shepherd mix. No matter the size or energy level of your pup, I’ll make sure they’re happy while I’m spending time with them! I spent several years volunteering with a Humane Society, which included spending a few hours a week with skiddish and sometimes reactive dogs at adoption events. I know how to adjust my energy level and behavior to make dogs comfortable, and am experienced in reading their body language. Whether you need me for drop-in visits or walks, I’ll be sure your furry friend is given all the attention during my visit! I’m a graduate student who is finished with classes, so I have a very flexible schedule! I offer drop-in visits and dog walking. Whatever time you need me to drop in I should be able to make work. I can spend up to a few hours with your pets in one sitting, and I can also drop in multiple times in one day as needed! I’m confident that I will be able to properly care for your pets for drop-ins and walks, and will be respectful of your space and privacy at all times.

“Joey is amazing with all my animals. My Cane Corso takes special introducing and not everyone I introduce him to takes the job. He liked Joey from the first day. I actually have a little farmstead with several types of animals, including a horse, a goat, an emu, over 50 chickens and other types of fowl. I even feed some of the wildlife! Joey does all of it. I get great pics and I'm always so happy with the detailed list he leaves of all the chores and extras that he does. He even remembers things that I forget to mention sometimes! Number one call for me all the time is Joey. Besides, he gave me a very reasonable farmstead rate. I highly recommend this sitter, especially if you have animals not listed on Rover!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I have been raised around dogs since I was 4 years old. I do have dogs as well. I do watch my family and friends dogs. They have relied on me to bath, feed, walk, and groom their dogs. I currently do work as a caregiver from 4pm-11pm and at home for the rest of the time. My husband does not work, so someone is always with the dogs. I do live in a town home with a 6 foot fence for the back/patio. Any dog in my home will always be welcomed on couches and beds. I do have cages for my dogs and would prefer for owner to bring one for boarding. I only use the cages for feeding and timeouts. Majority of the time the cages are open if they wanted to lay in them.

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a kid. We have always had at least one dog in the house if not more. In the past 6 years I have helped my parents to puppy train twice. I love dogs unconditionally, but I am not afraid to show a little tough love when needed. I’m currently going back to school and attend a lot of local sporting events but I still make it a priority to take my dog for a walk daily. Whether we fit in a walk before I leave in the morning or in-between class and a game, I know how much she loves her walks. I also make sure to give her ample play time when I am home. I make sure that whether the pet is in a fenced in yard or not I am always keeping an eye on them when outside. I always respect the clients wishes regarding their animal being on furniture, in what rooms, and such on.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
