“Marty did such a wonderful job with our pets! She sent daily updates and pictures to assure us that they were doing well, and left our home in perfect condition. She took our dog Monty on nice long walks each day and made sure our cat Maeve was fed accordingly to her diet. We really appreciate the care that Marty took of our pets, and how clean she left our home. We would absolutely book again!”

About: When I was in middle school, my science teacher went to the Philippines for the whole summer. I took care of her mices, dogs, guinea pigs and more. Growing up in Iowa, I have been around many animals including dogs. Also I have had friends who traveled to Europe and they had to leave their poodles, black labs and many more and trusted their dogs in my care at their home for a month or two weeks if needed when I lived in Washington state before moving to Honeoye Falls. When I dog sat, I made sure I gave medicine as instructed to the dogs as needed. I played with them, took them hiking, the beach, cuddled on the couch and learned about what they liked and don’t like and what makes them happy. I made sure that their owners were happy as well. When I was asked to come and dog sit again, the dogs would be waiting at the window waiting for my arrival. These dogs were sure happy to see me when I came back to dog sit them! I have plenty of time to play with your pups 🐶I would be available for boarding on the weekends and week days after 4pm. I would be happy to give lots of love and attention/play to your fur babies! I have a fenced yard and have two fur babies who love to socialize. I also love to spoil your dogs too! I work from home twice a week and can pet sit on the weekends as well! As for dog sitting in the client’s home I would treat your place with respect, love and care. Anything you need I will make sure that your pets receive it. I will also communicate and send pictures!

“I highly recommend Geeana to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate and attentive sitter for both their home and their fur babies. Our regular sitter was unavailable, and I was understandably a little nervous about entrusting our two dachshunds—and our home—to someone new on short-notice, especially since we would be out of state for a week. One of our dogs is nearly 16, and both require a lot of hands-on care and attention. From the moment Geeana stepped in, she gave them exactly that. She was incredibly caring, attentive and dependable, and she kept me updated every day—often multiple times a day—about how our girls were doing, whether they were eating well, taking their medications and generally how they were feeling. Those updates gave me tremendous peace of mind while we were away. I will always appreciate the genuine compassion and care Geeana showed our pups. She went above and beyond, and I wouldn't hesitate to have her care for them again. If you're looking for someone you can trust with your pets and your home, I wholeheartedly recommend Geeana!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life especially bigger dogs like German shepherds. But I recently got a black lab golden mix and would love to bring him over for a puppy play date:) I’m currently working full time but I can make a visit either before or after I get out to play with your pets and make sure they get the care they need! It would definitely brighten up my day as well before going in and give me something to look forward to after:) I have a friendly golden lab mix to help keep your fur babies company if you would like. He loves to play and is such a sweetheart

And you can tell our furbabies loved her company! She goes above and beyond to make sure our babies are loved when we are away😊”

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a kid. We have always had at least one dog in the house if not more. In the past 6 years I have helped my parents to puppy train twice. I love dogs unconditionally, but I am not afraid to show a little tough love when needed. I’m currently going back to school and attend a lot of local sporting events but I still make it a priority to take my dog for a walk daily. Whether we fit in a walk before I leave in the morning or in-between class and a game, I know how much she loves her walks. I also make sure to give her ample play time when I am home. I make sure that whether the pet is in a fenced in yard or not I am always keeping an eye on them when outside. I always respect the clients wishes regarding their animal being on furniture, in what rooms, and such on.

About: I’ve been using Rover since 2020, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets🐾 I also worked with Puppy Yoga Club, caring for 6–8 puppies during weekend classes where I would keep them safe, supervised, entertained, and well cared for throughout the day. I’m very patient, responsible, and comfortable with dogs of different personalities. My goal is to make sure your pet feels happy, loved, and safe while you enjoy peace of mind. 🐶❤️🐱 My schedule is pretty flexible, I currently work another job for about 8–10 hours per week, so I have plenty of availability throughout the week for walks, house sitting and pet care. I’m happy to communicate ahead of time and work around your pet’s routine & needs. My goal is to make scheduling easy and convenient for both you and your furry friend! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. When caring for a pet in their home, I make sure to follow the owner’s instructions and keep their normal routine as consistent as possible. I pay close attention to doors, gates, leashes, and anything else that could create a safety concern. I will also make sure food, medications, toys, and other pet supplies are handled exactly as instructed. I understand that being welcomed into someone’s home is a big responsibility. I treat every home with respect, keep things clean and organized, and make sure pets are comfortable in their own environment.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a kid. I have been raised around dogs since I was 4 years old. I do have dogs as well. I do watch my family and friends dogs. They have relied on me to bath, feed, walk, and groom their dogs. I currently do work as a caregiver from 4pm-11pm and at home for the rest of the time. My husband does not work, so someone is always with the dogs. I do live in a town home with a 6 foot fence for the back/patio. Any dog in my home will always be welcomed on couches and beds. I do have cages for my dogs and would prefer for owner to bring one for boarding. I only use the cages for feeding and timeouts. Majority of the time the cages are open if they wanted to lay in them.

About: I had a cat for 20 years and cage aninals when i was young. I have owned a dog with anxiety so patience was key. He needed Medication for that and his hips. I own two cats and a hedgehog. My cats come to a whistle, know how to sit and lay down, go to their blanket where ever it is. My older cat is great in the car and the younger cat I am currently training. I cut their nails and bathe them myself. Both are leash trained. I handle my hedgehog daily so that he is well socialized. My cats never bothered the rats or the hedgehog when let out of the cages. They would sleep woth the dog when no one was home. I work 12 hour over night shifts for my regular job. I am looking for day time and, when off night time or overnight opertunities to fit my shifting schedule. I work in Macedon and live in West Henrietta so I am flexible with locations. I am a quiet private person. I have two cats and a hedgehog. I previously owned rats, a dog, leopard gecko, and other caged animals Cages, boxes, bowls and, other cage items are cleaned daily as well as deep cleaning every 4 to 5 days or as needed. I enjoyed taking the dog as well as my cat for a walk! I have patience with animals with anxiety. I walk or handle pets that friends have such as snakes and birds.

About: I enjoy being around dogs, as i have one of my own now, i had dogs growing up and they have always been a friend i needed. I’m always the person at the gathering that spends more time with the dog rather than people lol. I have wanted to become a veterinarian since a kid, although i grew out of that, i know my purpose is to work with the voiceless, animals. (although they have their own voice lol). I’m currently doing this for experience due to being in school full time/work. I plan on advancing my knowledge in animal behavior. I am currently working full time Friday-Sunday. I am free Monday/Thursday. Thursday is not open as a service because i am only available until 12pm. I am very aware of surroundings during dog walks and aware that dogs will be dogs. I’ve studied multiple breeds and i am one to know that some breeds react differently than others, such as my own dog. I think dogs are misunderstanding and people don’t realize they do not think like humans. It is not easy to trust someone with your furry loved one, trust your intuition. I treat others peoples pet like i would want mine to be treated, with respect, patience and love.

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was 13 years old. As the youngest of five girls, my eldest sister entrusted me to walk, feed, and care for her four dogs during countless vacations and adventures abroad. Later in life, I moved on to helping my professors and teachers feel at ease while they traveled and enjoyed time away from home. I love animals of all shapes and sizes, and would love the opportunity to provide your pets with the same care and love that I do with my own pets. I currently work as a Teaching Assistant. My hours are from 7:30 am to 3 pm. However, I do have the flexibility (depending on travel time), to travel to your home mid-day for potty breaks. After work, I am available to spend the rest of my day and night at your home. Despite my personal schedule, I more than willing to work around your individual needs and requirements! I understand trusting strangers with your pets can be scary. However, I am committed to listening to your personal needs and providing your animals with the best care possible! :)

About: Hi everyone! My name is Reese and I am a junior nursing major at St. John Fisher University! I am available for all dog/cat/etc. pet needs throughout the school year (September 7th - December 16th and January 11th - May 1st) minus a few random days/weeks for school breaks. I have been pet sitting for multiple years now including walks, overnights, and drop-in visits! I am comfortable caring for multiple animals at once so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I would love to spend some time with your pets while away from mine back home! I currently have classes pretty heavy Mondays and Wednesdays with breaks throughout the day to stop by! Tuesdays, I am done by noon. Thursdays are my clinical days so that would be the one day with a long stretch away from the home and then Friday-Sunday, I am completely free! I have had no issues so far with my schedule conflicting with pet care and is always a top priority! As I am a college student still living on campus, comfortability with me staying at your home would be a must (for overnights)! I also believe it keeps the dogs/cats/etc. calmer while their parents are away as they are still in their natural “environment” and only one of their daily norms is changing….ME!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Wheatland Center

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of October 2026, there are 529 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wheatland Center. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wheatland Center walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wheatland Center maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wheatland Center choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wheatland Center. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
