“Tara is awesome! She takes Murphy on nice long walks and always leaves the nicest notes about his behavior 😊 She is reliable and conscientious. I highly recommend Tara for your dog walking needs (as long as it doesn’t interfere with Murphy’s scheduled walks🤣)!”

“Alexis did an amazing job with our dog, Duke. She took great care of him, giving him plenty of exercise and feeding him while we were away. We will definitely use Alexis in the future!”

“Kate did an amazing job walking our senior dog! She accepted our booking at a short notice and was very friendly and easy to work with. Our dog loves her. Highly recommend!”

About: Along with growing up with two dogs and helping to raise a puppy as a teenager, family friends and neighbors have relied on me to take care of their dogs and cats since I was ten. I've worked with all types of dogs, from Shih Tzus to Pit Bull mixes. I'm the one in my family who takes the dogs out on long hikes (or for short walks around the block once they get older), brushes their teeth and fur, gives them baths, and trims their nails. I'm a regular volunteer at cat shelters in cat care, and as a student on the pre-veterinary track, I have shadowed and volunteered at vet clinics to better understand the care that goes into your pets' health. Besides dogs and cats, I also have experience with a myriad of animals, such as hamsters, rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, mice, fish, hermit crabs, geckos, snakes, tortoises, and turtles. I have experience in preparing special diets for pets and other animals with specific health needs, and in senior dog care. Over the summer, I work at my internships in animal care for much of the work day, but that leaves afternoons, evenings, and early mornings for me to check in on your pets and give any care they need (breakfast/dinner, walks, baths, etc.). Over the school year, I will have more hours available to fit in more time with your pets (i.e. walking and bathing/grooming, more playtime, etc.). As a lover of all creatures, I take the safety of both pets and wildlife seriously. As such, I will always supervise pets that are outside in yards and keep them on leashes outside fenced-off areas so they are not a danger to others or themselves. If transporting pets in my car, I will keep them safe and secure in a carrier/crate. As a college student who has shared living spaces with new people before, I understand the importance of respecting others' belongings and boundaries. During drop-in visits, I will be sure to respect your home and any rules you may have for your comfort (i.e. no shoes in the house, specific dishes/silverware for pets only, general cleanliness, etc.).
“This was the first time I left my rescue poodle - who has separation anxiety - with anyone. Charlene was a dream....he was comfortable with her right away and had enough fun so that he was calm when he saw me again - it was almost as if he wasnt' done playing with her! I would ask for her again in a heartbeat.”

“Sarah looked after our 2 dogs and took good care of them while we were away. She sent pictures every day and we really appreciated that. She even brought her family to walk our dogs. Maxy and Kyro looked happy and together with the report cards making us feel at ease. Definitely recommend Sarah.”

“Sydney is absolutely great with our dog Jack! She’s always on time, provides updates, and genuinely enjoys her time with him. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for dog walking services!”

About: Hi! I’m Alexandra. My husband and I have been dog sitting for several years and love providing a loving home away from home for our furry guests. We have a fully fenced yard where our dogs and their doggy friends can run, play and enjoy extra company safely. I’m a full-time dog walker during the week with the flexibility and time to give your pup the care they deserve. I previously worked at a veterinary clinic and have volunteered with various animal rescue organizations. I have experience with many breeds and personalities, ensuring each dog gets individualized attention. Your pup’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. We do not have children, so dogs who prefer a child-free environment are always welcome here.

“We’re so grateful for the care Monty received during Sam’s visits while he was recovering from surgery. She provided patience, TLC, and close attention to his medical needs. We couldn’t recommend her more highly, especially for pets needing extra care.”

“Marilyn was great! Responsive, friendly, and my dog loved her. She sent photos and check-ins and I felt full confident with her hanging with my pup. Highly recommend!”

About: I LOVE animals, dogs, cats, birds, you name it, any type of pet and am naturally extremely caring for them, regardless if they are my pets or not. I'm currently home from graduating college and was looking for something i would enjoy doing, and i LOVE animals, and i got introduced into Rover. I've had a dog my whole life and trained them, and would love to help other's people and their pets! I have a dog, that I feed, walk and play with everyday. I walk him for at least 15 minutes, but he likes being out and playing catch, or even play inside.

Michaela was a great walker for our dog! She was nice enough to come by for a meet and greet the day before and asked great questions. The day of the walk was quite hot and Michaela was attuned to our dog’s needs and even extended the walk so Navi could recuperate in the shade. We will definitely have Michaela help again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
