About: As an animal lover of all kinds from Guinea pigs to Great Danes, I have 10 years of experience taking care of my own dog and Guinea pigs as well as a year of experience in Emergency and Intensive Veterinary Care working as a Vet Tech Assistant at one of the higher ranked animal hospitals in Connecticut. I have experience working with dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs of all ages and in all different conditions of health. I am trained in animal CPR, Care (cage cleanings, food, water, etc.), walks every 2-4 hours, and more! So if your pet makes a mess or needs a little extra love - there's nothing I can't handle! I am currently home from college for the summer, so I am free most days of the week Mondays through Fridays, from extremely early mornings to later nights! *I will not be in the United States from June 20th until July 5th as I will be visiting family abroad :) In my own home, I have a dog and a guinea pig - this means frequent walks, feedings, plenty of play time and love, cage cleanings, enrichment, nail trimmings (only done by self on guinea pig), and baths every so often. I am of course going to treat your pet as I would my own, not just with plenty of love, but if there are any services you would like done while I am with your pet, let me know!

“Giuliana went above and beyond taking care of Dunkin. Her communication is fantastic and you can tell she really cares for your pet. Would highly recommend!”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life - whether they are my own or someone else's. Dogs always gravitated toward my dad (a definite whisperer) and they are the same way with me. Your dog will be treated like my own - they will come back tired and happy. I will ensure they are always in situations in which they are safe and comfortable. I will go above and beyond to make sure that your dog's experience is a great one! I am a full time teacher, but a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I am available all day during the summer for drop-ins and long walks. During the school year, I can drop-by and do walks before 8 am and after 3pm. Longer visits and walks will be offered in the afternoons and evenings during the school year. Your dog will be given plenty of well deserved attention. They will get many pats and scratches (plenty of love), lots of playtime, will stay well hydrated, and will be plenty tired from their long walk/hike.

“This was the first time that Kaitlin watched Jed over an extended period and it really could not have gone better. She was communicative throughout, and was very thoughtful about trying to find extra time to be with him while we were away. We came home to a cat who was obviously been well cared for and we will look forward to having Kaitlin come watch Jed again.”

“Sarah always takes such good care of my girls and I appreciate her so much! This is my first time having Sara sit for me and she’s been wonderful every time.”

“Karissa was very attentive and detailed in her reports. Super friendly and responsive as well.”

“Our pup loved spending time with Maggie while we were away for a wedding! She was extremely knowledgeable about dogs and went above and beyond to make sure he was well taken care of! She also spent time with our cat who normally gets separation anxiety when we're away. We and our pets hope that Maggie will be available to help again in the future!”

“James was an excellent caregiver for my cat. He came over early to see the house and meet Finbar, sent nice updates and pictures. I would be happy to use his services again.”

“Oliver did several drop in visits on our cat while we were away for a few days. Oliver is extremely responsive and very reliable, would definitely recommend”

About: I have been around dogs all of my life. Growing up in the Hudson Valley, we had two dogs: an American Pit Bull Terrier and an APBT Staffie mix. They were the most athletic and lovey dogs! They completed a five mile hike that has a fairly long and vertical scramble section at 14 years old! In their senior years, they had medical issues so I am experienced with med management and adopting activities to their capabilities. Currently, my fiance and I have a half APBT, half Siberian Husky dog. He is the best! We adopted him from a family that kept him in his crate for so long that he bit off a large portion of the hair on his tail. He was reactive in the beginning, lunging at cars on the road and barking and lunging at dogs on walks. I used Spirit Dog Training’s reactivity course and my education in behavioral psychology and research to fix these issues. He no longer does either things and his hair has grown back in spades! We keep him busy by training him (tricks) and mentally stimulated with sniff walks and games like find it, as well as off leash time, hikes, runs, etc. We love hiking with Oto: he recently completed numerous hikes in Acadia National Park and has done Camel’s Hump in VT and Mt. Osceola in NH: he plans on completing the NH 48! In general, I love being outside and active: hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, running, kayaking, rock climbing and going to the gym. I love all dogs, but have a particular drive to keep working dogs happy and healthy! German Shepherds, Border Collies, Huskies, Cattle Dogs, Anatolian Shepherds: it is amazing what they can do and how they have served our communities in numerous roles for decades. I have spent a lot of time with my sister’s German Shepherd and half GSD half Anatolian dogs. I also volunteered at a therapeutic horseback riding center and rode horseback for several years; I find being around horses to be great training for how to interact with, and train, dogs. They are so big that they don’t HAVE to listen to you. Maintaining confidence (even if you don’t feel like it) and a steady hand go a long way, as well as keeping aware of their body language and behaviors. They are very sensitive creatures. In the Fall, I am starting my graduate program in clinical social work and have indicated my availability on my calendar. In general, during the Fall and Spring semesters, I will be conducting my practicum on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week, so am only unavailable on those days. Please share your dog's behaviors and needs with me before scheduling walks. If your dog is reactive (barks at dogs on walks or lunges) please let me know and I can adjust the walking route and make sure to give other dogs plenty of space. Let me know what their usual distance on walks is, as I can try to adjust my pace accordingly. I have a lot of experience with this (decades). If you have treats for your dog, I can take them out with me if needed.

“I'm very thankful for Wanda because I was away overseas and my previous sitter had to cancel.. this was not a situation any pet parent should ever be put through and I was able to get ahold of Wanda who came to the rescue even without me being there to show her the procedure for taking care of my 2 cats. (Granted, I had a Youtube video giving an overview of the process and I gave her the codes to my lockbox and my home alarm which all went smoothly.)”

About: I’ve had my amazing dog Nalu for almost 5 years and have also been a dog walker for people in my life and neighborhood for multiple years. I love all animals, especially dogs! I am a college student home for the summer and I have a lot of free time when I’m not working so dog walking fits perfectly into my routine! I love being around dogs and I love being outside and walking so it works out perfectly. My dog is pretty well trained so when we go outside she doesn’t need a leash. I leash her when we walk on the roads or in mandatory areas. I am comfortable with dealing with new dogs and new personalities.

Sophie R.
“I think Sophie would be a a good fit for this job as not only has she worked in emergency care for animals at an animal hospital but she has watched/babysat my dog in the past. Despite my dog being the kind that takes a while to warm up to people they managed to warm up to Sophie with an hour.”

Avery T.
“Your pets will be in amazing hands with Avery. She has taken care of my dog, Midas, multiple times a year since 2018. She is extremely attentive to Midas. On top of walks, playtime and other activities, she successfully takes on the difficult tasks of administering Midas’ medications. My trust for her is very warranted - she sends frequent updates and pictures, and is proactive and pragmatic when anything seems amiss with Midas. Peace of mind while traveling is something I struggled to have before Midas started staying with her; with her I know that he will always be safe and loved. But most of all, I can tell through pictures and in-person interactions, Midas, and all other animals for that matter, adore Avery.”
