About: I grew up with cats: as a kid, we lived in the woods and made friends with an outdoor cat that eventually basically lived with us. I love cats, but respect that, generally, when you first meet them, the more you leave them alone the more comfortable they feel! My cat, Sarah (in my picture) was with me for 12 years before she passed away. She was a very energetic and hilarious Tortie and reminded me very much of a mix between a dog and a cat. She would drag her string to me at night and meow very mournfully to wake me up so I would (hopefully) play with it, which involved dangling it high enough for her to jump up and swat at it. In her senior years, she developed epilepsy and had to be medicated to control the seizures, so I am experienced with med management.

About: My husband and I have a 5 year old labradoodle and love dogs. At least one of us works from home on a given day and we can get your pup out for at least a few strolls per day. About: I follow the guidelines of the owner. I am "present" (not distracted) with the dog. I am consistent and caring. I am very aware of the dog's behavior in the range of other pets and people, and adjust our path and pace accordingly. I am recently retired and my scheduled is flexible between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. unless I have scheduled time on the water to sail. Currently, I walked my neighbors dog. When I enter, I am careful to close the door immediately and take time to greet the dog (Mazie, female). I am attentive to details when putting on her harness for both security and comfort. While walking, I follow the instructions of the owner relative to the proximity of other dogs since Mazie is a rescue and can become agitated by other dogs. Maize heels very well for me while we walk and I believe she appreciates that I do not listen to music or use my phone while we walk. I converse with Mazie to ensure she feels companionship as well as experiences exercise.

About: I have been around dogs and cats all of my life. Growing up in the Hudson Valley, we had two dogs: an American Pit Bull Terrier and an APBT Staffie mix. They were the most athletic and lovey dogs! In their senior years, they had medical issues so I am experienced with med management and adopting activities to their capabilities. We also had several cats growing up including adopted strays. Currently, my fiance and I have a half APBT, half Siberian Husky dog. He is the best! We adopted him from a family that kept him in his crate for so long that he bit off a large portion of the hair on his tail. He was reactive in the beginning, lunging at cars on the road and barking and lunging at dogs on walks. I used Spirit Dog Training’s reactivity course and my education in behavioral psychology and research to fix these issues. He no longer does either things and his hair has grown back in spades! We keep him busy by training him (tricks) and mentally stimulated with sniff walks and games like find it, as well as off leash time, hikes, runs, etc. We love hiking with Oto: he recently completed numerous hikes in Acadia National Park and has done Camel’s Hump in VT and Mt. Osceola in NH: he plans on completing the NH 48! In general, I love being outside and active: hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, running, kayaking, rock climbing and going to the gym. I love all dogs, but have a particular drive to keep working dogs happy and healthy! German Shepherds, Border Collies, Huskies, Cattle Dogs, Anatolian Shepherds: it is amazing what they can do and how they have served our communities in numerous roles for decades. I have spent a lot of time with my sister’s German Shepherd and half GSD half Anatolian dogs and my family's Great Danes. I also volunteered at a therapeutic horseback riding center and rode horseback for several years; I find being around horses to be great training for how to interact with, and train, dogs. They are so big that they don’t HAVE to listen to you. Maintaining confidence (even if you don’t feel like it) and a steady hand go a long way, as well as keeping aware of their body language and behaviors. They are very sensitive creatures. In the Fall of 2026, I am resuming my graduate program in clinical social work and have indicated my availability in the details section. However, those times and days don't apply during winter and summer breaks (open availability then). Please share your dog's behaviors and needs with me before scheduling walks. If your dog is reactive (barks at dogs on walks or lunges) please let me know and I can adjust the walking route and make sure to give other dogs plenty of space. Let me know what their usual distance on walks is, as I can try to adjust my pace accordingly. I have a lot of experience with this (decades). If you have treats for your dog, I can take them out with me if needed.
“Thank you Sean! Sean was amazing with our Aussie Rusty. We were not at home for the week and Sean picked up and dropped off Rusty from our elder parents. They said he was so nice chatting with them, punctual every day, making sure Rusty got his long walks and did his business. Sean sent us a daily report card with photos along the walk and charted out new neighborhoods in our town. Rusty must have loved that! We had a heavy downpour one of the days and Sean took the time to make sure Rusty was all dried up after the walk. About: I have one dog and have fostered over a dozen others, including various breeds, sizes, and personalities. I have experience working with super energetic dogs and reactive dogs and love training! I am home for the summer, and I am available all day, because I am working from home! My schedule is very flexible so let me know what works best for you :). Safety is always my number one priority. I have lots of experience reading animal behavior. Please tell me what I should know about your pets or before coming to your home, and if there are any precautions you would like me to take in order to keep your pets happy and healthy! I will always keep dogs on leash, and keep water and treats with me. Will send updates and picture/videos too!
