“Abigayl was so awesome with my cat! I could tell he really loved seeing her everyday and she gave him plenty of attention and cuddles. She was so communicative and I appreciate her so much”

“Kendall went above and beyond to make sure our pups were comfortable and well taken care of! We got a detailed update each check-in and pictures. We absolutely would book future check-ins with her!”
“Emily did a fantastic job with all of our dogs and cats while we were gone for a 10 day vacation. From a large, energetic dog, to a shy senior and even a grumpy cat, she was consistently kind, friendly, and patient. All of our babies ended up loving her within a few days.”

“Great experience with Mia! She was able to come last minute to check in with my dog when I needed him to be let out. Quick to respond, reliable, and made sure he was taken care of. Would recommend, thank you Mia!”

“Aurianna is great with my two dogs. They really seem to like her being here. She is professional and her communication is excellent. It is great piece of mind to know my dogs are taken care of on my long days at work.”

“We were very nervous leaving our fur baby home for the first time. Jamie was wonderful, she spoiled our Penny and sent tons of pictures. It was a great experience for both pup and parents. Our son loved getting to see his dog each night before bed and felt like he didn't miss her as much as when we've boarder her in the past. We will definitely be using Jamie again if we can't take Penny with us or habe grandparents babysit!”

“Camila is excellent! She has helped me out twice now and I really appreciate her. My dogs can be a little stubborn and she has great patience and takes great care of them.”

“Katelyn did wonderfully watching our cat while we were gone! We so appreciated the frequent updates, her communication when she needed clarification on instructions I left, and ESPECIALLY her flexibility when we had to be gone longer than expected. She was happy to schedule more visits and work with our travel schedule. Highly recommend, and my kitty clearly loved the time she devoted to cuddles!”

Our complex also has a lot of walking pathes & with permission we love taking pets for longer walks around the area. We did recently move from Indiana to North Carolina, so please not we are now located in North Carolina for services. We live in a 3 bedroom townhome with a small fenced in front yard. We have plenty of sidewalks for walking & are just beside a larger dog park as well. My husband and I work together, so we are able to always be attentive to your pets needs.

“Katherine did an excellent job taking care of my 2 cats. She was able to give medication to my cat who hates taking his asthma pills. She went above and beyond to clean up the messes left by my cats left.”

About: I have taken care of my own pets and other people’s pets my whole life (25+ years). I grew up with a rescue sheltie named Kali and watched my neighbor’s cats as a kid. After high school, I attended Purdue University to get my B.S. in Animal Science and gained experience working with animals of all varieties (small, large, wildlife, laboratory, exotics). I became passionate about animal medicine and decided I wanted to go to veterinary school. I got into the Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine after only three years of undergrad and have been studying there the last four years. Throughout my schooling, I have gained 8 years of training in various small animal clinics as well as the Purdue Small and Large Animal Hospitals. I am Fear Free Certified for dogs and cats and am comfortable working with any species of any size. I am able to provide quality medical care to any pet such as oral or injectable medications, subcutaneous fluids, monitoring heart rates, respiratory rates, mucous membranes, pulses, blood pressure, Libres, Holter-monitors, and other supportive care your pet may need. I have received extensive CPR training for dogs and cats and have worked with pets in any condition you can think of (geriatric, neonatal, critical condition, post-operatively, diabetics, Addison’s, hyper/hypothyroid, seizure dogs and cats, heart diseases, neurological disorders, non-ambulatory, etc.). You name it, I’ve probably seen it before! I currently have an adorable and loving beagle named Marshall who is a retired research dog. I also had a cat named Sylvie that I rescued in Ohio, but she passed away very recently. Let me know if you have any other species at your home that need attention! I love all pocket pets, birds, reptiles/amphibians, rabbits, and other exotic pets. I also love horses, pigs, llamas, alpacas, chickens, goats, cattle, sheep, and any other farm animal you might have on your property. I am currently a part-time student and have a flexible schedule. I can work with you to arrange what is best for you and your pet’s needs, and will ensure that my calendar is updated regularly with my availability. I will respect the safety and wishes of my clients in regards to caring for their pets in their households or while out on a walk. I believe that trust can be established by listening to a clients desires and goals and devoting myself to helping the client achieve them.
About: I grew up with many pets so I am no stranger to pet care. In recent years, I frequently pet sit for friends and family and would love to spend my free time keeping your pet company I work part time but currently have a flexible schedule. I am available weekends and weekdays. I’m often available, just need to schedule in advance. I can care for pets by following their normal routines, provide plenty of attention, engaging in their regular exercise, and help keep pets comfortable in their own homes and providing feedings.
About: I have taken care of my parents senior dog in my home while they were out of town. Helped a former coworker with her dog, also in my home, while she was out of town. I have helped a friend of mine with their senior dog + 4 cats in their home as drop in visits while they were out of town. Since starting Rover, I have had multiple in home stays with dogs, and homes that have both dogs and cats. I work full-time from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. My morning routine includes leaving the house by 7:00 AM to take my child to daycare or school. Before departing, all pets in my care are taken outside, fed, and provided with any necessary medications. Depending on the proximity of your home, I may be available to stop by during my lunch break to check on and care for your pet. After work, I pick up my child from daycare and can typically arrive at your home around 5:00 PM. Upon arrival, dogs will be taken outside promptly and fed as needed. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to discuss specific care needs or scheduling. I care for pets with the same level of attention and compassion as I do my own. I follow each pet’s individual feeding schedule, ensure they always have access to fresh water, and administer any required medications as directed. Dogs are taken outside regularly for bathroom breaks and exercise, and I make time to play and engage with them to keep them happy and active. For cats, I maintain clean litter boxes in addition to providing consistent feeding, fresh water, and attentive care. I also enjoy offering treats when permitted; my daughter especially loves helping to give treats, making it a fun and positive experience for your pet.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Lafayette
Abigayl took good care of my cats while I was out of town, and I can back to happy cats. She was quick to reach out if she had any questions (I didn't leave clear instructions to wear a medication was placed), and she made sure to play with the kitties every day. Would recommend booking with her.

Sophia did an excellent job caring for our two miniature schnauzers, Schatzi and Frieda, while we were away for the weekend. She was reliable, communicative, and provided regular updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind knowing our dogs were well cared for. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our pets and took the time to make sure they were comfortable and happy. We came home to two well-cared-for dogs, and the entire experience was stress-free from start to finish. We would absolutely book with Sophia again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.

Thank you very much for taking care of Quantum! This was the longest we've all been away since adopting her, and we sure appreciate the daily drop in visits so she could remain at home in her familiar surroundings. We were happy to get daily photos, even if most of them were her hiding under the bed. :) Thanks again.

Faith is a wonderful, trusted dog walker. We have two large dogs who are reactive to other dogs and do not like strangers. Faith is very responsible and did fantastic with both of them. They love her and listen well to her. They get excited as soon as she enters our driveway. Faith follows our instructions and is a great communicator. She also understands dogs very well and is very observant. She sends a message if she notices that a dog behaved a bit differently than they usually do. Our family very much appreciated her help and we will miss her after she graduates and moves elsewhere.

Rachel was amazing and made my first Rover experience so easy and stress-free. She was super responsive, flexible with scheduling, and incredibly kind. It was clear right away that my cat would be in great hands. She sent multiple photos and thoughtful updates after every visit, which meant a lot to me while I was away. On top of that, I had a travel issue come up and needed a last-minute visit with very little notice. Rachel responded quickly and even helped take care of the booking when I didn’t have service or availability to do so. I truly can’t thank her enough. She went above and beyond, and I’ll definitely be booking with her again. I’d recommend her to anyone needing a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Kath has been wonderful with Billie. I truly appreciate how flexible and reliable she is, which makes scheduling much easier and less stressful. Knowing that she is a veterinary technician gives me extra confidence, especially when it comes to administering medications correctly and safely. Most importantly, she is someone I genuinely trust and feel secure leaving Billie with. I highly recommend her.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
