“Devon was pet sitter extraordinaire for a week while we were abroad, taking superb care of our highly anxious dog and high needs cats. Our dog clearly adores Devon and couldn’t have been happier in her care. Devon sent tons of photos and updates, which our family loved seeing. She has our highest recommendation and we truly appreciate knowing our pets and home are in such capable hands. Thank you!”

“Natalie was great -- flexible, reliable, good communicator. I felt totally comfortable leaving her with my senior dog and energetic younger dog. Look forward to booking her again!”

“Caroline was great with our pets, even our extremely anxious puo. She sent several pictures and was very responsive. She even helped with a few extra tasks (put away a grocery order and cleaned up a mess). We are very grateful. Thank you Caroline!”

“Charlene was wonderful with our senior, wimpy, dog. She was very careful to care for him in a way that was respectful of his handicap. He took awhile to warm up to her, a full day, but her care and tenderness won him over. Thank you Charlene.”

About: I’ve taken care of my family’s Australian Shepard for the last 10 years. I’ve always grown up with dogs in my house and love animals! I am currently across the country from home for college and miss my dog so much. I am looking for a fun part-time job while I am in college that allows me to spend time with animals! I am flexible and love being with dogs. I have many years of experience with dogs and am adaptable to whatever care your dog needs.
“We are indebted to Melissa who stayed flexible and cared for our dogs as we fought a Midwest snowstorm that changed travel plans! She was communicative and patient- to have someone so reliable and who are dogs clearly love puts our minds at ease when we have to be away.”

“Maisel was so great with our dogs, Tavish & Ellie. She took great care of them and they were happy as ever when we returned. She also took meticulous care of our home which she stayed in while we were gone. We’ll definitely book her again next time the need arises!”

“Paige saved us after we had two Rover cancellations before our destination wedding. She cares very deeply about the well being of our pets and was so so flexible with us we were trying to figure out what we needed last minute in terms of care for our George Michael. She provided pictures and updates daily, and provided ample care, playtime and daily walks to keep GM active and enriched. He truly went on a doggy vacation with her! I look forward to rebooking her for our future trips, knowing that GM will be in good, capable hands.”

“Linh is fantastic! She house sat for our two pups while we were on vacation for a week. I'm usually nervous about leaving our pups with a new sitter, especially after we had a bad experience with one (not thru Rover) a few years back. But Linh's knowledge and calm, confident demeanor instilled confidence in me so I was able to relax and enjoy our vacation. She sent updates and frequent photos throughout the week. Not only did she leave our house the way we left it, but she washed all of the sheets and towels which was not expected but very much appreciated. We will be using her again for our next vacation and I know the pups will be excited to see her again!”

“ROSE D Is wonderful, fabulous and dependable. She took great care of our little Pookie with no problems at all. I look forward to seeing her again whenever we travel without Pookie. I did not even have to worry at all as I did with previous sitters. We love Rose”

“Samantha did a great job taking care of our cat, Sasha! She was on time for the meet and greet and cat sitting start date. She sent lots of photos of Sasha and updates on her eating and litter habits. Sasha sometimes gets lonely when we leave on vacation and has not eaten in the past but ate and played fine and seemed very comfortable with Samantha. Would definitely recommend Samantha for cat/dog sitting!”

“Julie-Anne was an excellent dog sitter. She communicated very well. Sent photos & gave us up dates. She stayed at our house & gave our dogs love & snuggles. We will use Julie-Anne again.”

“Sara took wonderful care of Charlie and I would certainly leave him with her again. Even though he can be shy, Charlie took to Sara the first time he met her which put me right at ease. It was easy to communicate with her and it was so nice to receive pictures of them together. When I returned it was obvious that Charlie was well taken care of and that my condo was left as clean and neat as I left it!!”

“Marilyn is a fantastic sitter and considerate homestay. She took great care of my two cats (and my home), and they really liked her based on the numerous pictures she sent where it appeared they were following her around, and not just to the wet food. What's more, Marilyn goes above and beyond. When I left for my trip and Marilyn was to begin residency the following day, my neighbor texted me and showed me that there was a window situation where a cat could escape. Even though her duty started the next day, Marilyn made a special trip to confirm cats were safe, and to fix the window situation. She even washed the bedding and towels I had left her so I wouldn't have to do it when I got home, and she generously allowed my to book two more nights of her care when I wanted to extend my trip. Marilyn is very caring, considerate and flexible. I will definitely be requesting her services again. I recommend her highly as one of the best Rover caretakers I have encountered.”

“Melissa sat for my dog Hazel and our cat Sasha and was fantastic. Melissa is super professional, sweet, trustworthy, and it is clear she makes caring for your pet her priority. Hazel is a large, strong and reactive dog and Melissa handled her very well. I also get so nervous to leave the pets and Melissa was so reassuring and gave lots of updates and pictures. I will be re-booking Melissa in the future.”

“Jess is great about communicating how our 2 labs are doing and asking questions along the way to ensure they get great care. We know they are in good hands and trust her fully!”

About: During high school and some of my undergraduate years, I worked on a farm. A part of my job included caring for the farm's pack of dogs. Throughout my time there, I helped deliver several litters, administer medicine to both puppies and senior dogs, as well as care for these dogs on a daily basis. During this time, I also volunteered at a local animal shelter cleaning out cages, and adoption rooms while also serving as a companion to surrendered and rescued dogs. Through these experiences I have come to understand the responsibility and time it takes to care for these family members but that the love you receive makes every accident and eccentricity worth it. I am currently a part-time graduate student at Boston University and am available most mornings and evenings. I am also available for overnights during the week and on weekends. During the weekends I am free all day. With enough planning most times during the work week can work. I currently have two cats, bonded brothers. Both are just about three years old but we have had them since they were one. Currently they are mostly indoor cats, having been rescued from Florida from a hoarding situation. One is most certainly an adventure and loves all his toys from his flopping fish to our bungee rope bug. The other is a lap cat, he loves a window. and a good belly rubbing session. They are both fully vaccinated and in excellent health. They each receive wet and dry food, only organic and fresh (they eat better than I do some days). When I have pet sit in the past, I like to hear and listen to the family's care routine and take notes on schedules, medications, etc. I also love taking pictures while on walks or during play time. I find its a great way to keep everyone updated on the day's events and so that nobody misses their dog or cat too much throughout the day.

Devon watched our dog Willow in August 2026 for a week in our townhouse. . She was great! She had a way with Willow that we could see to make sure there was a connection to keep Willow comfortable and safe. . Devon sent pictures all week long. When we came back, Willow was happy and not stressed. Going forward, we will keep going back to Devon when we are away. We were lucky ro find her…just amazing. We highly recommend her. Natalie did an AMAZING job. My old dog was unfortunately having health issues and Natalie was there to love on her and picked up some medication from the vet to try to help her symptoms. I couldn't have hoped for a better substitute for me being there during this difficult time. If you use Natalie for dog sitting, you are definitely leaving your fur baby in capable AND very empathetic/loving hands.

Savanna is a gem! We are so fortunate to have found and met her through Rover. She stayed with our three-yes, 3! English labs and one special little fish for seven nights. We came home to find them all very happy and clearly well taken care of. Plus our house looked like no one had been here, but better! She is a reliable, thoughtful, and warm caretaker.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wellesley Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wellesley Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wellesley Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
