“We are forever grateful for Devon! She was absolutely incredible with our two dogs and we could be fully present and worry-free for our destination wedding. She was patient with our anxious dog and enabled her to feel comfortable almost immediately. Devon sent adorable photos and truly went above and beyond! We would be lucky to be able to have Devon stay in our home again in the future! Thank you times a million!!!”

“Charlene was wonderful with our senior, wimpy, dog. She was very careful to care for him in a way that was respectful of his handicap. He took awhile to warm up to her, a full day, but her care and tenderness won him over. Thank you Charlene.”

“Natalie was AMAZING and handled my very stubborn dog with so much love and patience, and kept me updated and in the loop with lots of great photos every day. She really went above and beyond taking care of my dog!”

“Second experience with Carolyn, and I’m her fan for life! She was absolutely amazing with my still-in-training, super energetic dog! She cared for him way better than I would have. She gave him tons of walks, managed his energy really well and even nursed him back from an upset tummy. I’m so grateful that I found Carolyn to help me with my dog.”

“Caroline was great with our pets, even our extremely anxious puo. She sent several pictures and was very responsive. She even helped with a few extra tasks (put away a grocery order and cleaned up a mess). We are very grateful. Thank you Caroline!”

“Tricia was fantastic! She stayed at our home for over a week, caring (really caring!) for our two pets Hopper (dog) and Cicero (cat). She was generous in her communication (lots of pictures), concern, and professionalism. I can't thank her enough for making me feel calm and relaxed while on vacation. We would definitely ask for Tricia again!”

“Samantha stayed with our dog Sadie in our home while we were out of town for four nights. She did an excellent job - it was clear Sadie was well cared for and enjoyed her time with Samantha. Samantha communicated with us throughout her stay and was a clean, thoughtful house guest. We were very pleased with Samantha and would highly recommend her.”

“Linh is fantastic! She house sat for our two pups while we were on vacation for a week. I'm usually nervous about leaving our pups with a new sitter, especially after we had a bad experience with one (not thru Rover) a few years back. But Linh's knowledge and calm, confident demeanor instilled confidence in me so I was able to relax and enjoy our vacation. She sent updates and frequent photos throughout the week. Not only did she leave our house the way we left it, but she washed all of the sheets and towels which was not expected but very much appreciated. We will be using her again for our next vacation and I know the pups will be excited to see her again!”

“Anna was wonderful with our big, active, mixed breed lovebug, Luna. She sent photos all the time, and Luna looked relaxed and happy in every one of them. She was so kind and communicated so well. We are so grateful to have found her and hope to use her again for house sitting!”

“Thank you for taking such great care of Loma. We were able to travel and know she was in good hands. We highly recommend Julie-Anne who has stayed in our home twice during our trips and everything was perfect.”

“Masi did an amazing job watching out wheaten terrier, Trigo! He hasn't had many dog sitters so he tends to be a little jumpy and nervous at first but Masi knew exactly how to calm him down and make sure he was comfortable. We loved getting the video and photo updates and felt confident that Trigo was in the best of care. Thanks so much!!”

“I appreciate that Becki checks in to confirm booking details, especially on the return date. She makes sure my Zoey is not left alone for too long. I arrived home to a happy and well-cared for pup.”

“Donna was great. Prompt arrival and constant comma while we were away. She sent pictures and let us know Shirley was scratching her face likely due to anxiety. She treated our dog wonderfully and I would not hesitate to book again”

“Grateful for Juliana! Had a sitter accidentally double book with us and scrambled and was grateful to find her. The dogs loved her and she gave updates upon request. Would absolutely book with her again.”

“Rose was amazing and she took excellent care of Oakley. She communicated with us during our entire trip and sent us pictures along the way. We will definitely be using Rose again!”

“Caroline H. was great! I really appreciated that she reached out a few days in advance so I felt confident there would be no hiccups on the start date. I also appreciated that she stripped the bed and started the washing machine with her sheets and towels before we came home. She was understanding when, after the wedding, I was delayed and my brother and his wife arrived back at the house before me. But most importantly, I could tell she treated our dog well while were were away!”

About: During high school and some of my undergraduate years, I worked on a farm. A part of my job included caring for the farm's pack of dogs. Throughout my time there, I helped deliver several litters, administer medicine to both puppies and senior dogs, as well as care for these dogs on a daily basis. During this time, I also volunteered at a local animal shelter cleaning out cages, and adoption rooms while also serving as a companion to surrendered and rescued dogs. Through these experiences I have come to understand the responsibility and time it takes to care for these family members but that the love you receive makes every accident and eccentricity worth it. I am currently a part-time graduate student at Boston University and am available most mornings and evenings. I am also available for overnights during the week and on weekends. During the weekends I am free all day. With enough planning most times during the work week can work. I currently have two cats, bonded brothers. Both are just about three years old but we have had them since they were one. Currently they are mostly indoor cats, having been rescued from Florida from a hoarding situation. One is most certainly an adventure and loves all his toys from his flopping fish to our bungee rope bug. The other is a lap cat, he loves a window. and a good belly rubbing session. They are both fully vaccinated and in excellent health. They each receive wet and dry food, only organic and fresh (they eat better than I do some days). When I have pet sit in the past, I like to hear and listen to the family's care routine and take notes on schedules, medications, etc. I also love taking pictures while on walks or during play time. I find its a great way to keep everyone updated on the day's events and so that nobody misses their dog or cat too much throughout the day.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter than Melissa from Rover. She took amazing care of our dog Luna, who was recovering from knee surgery and needed special attention. Melissa followed our instructions for Luna’s physical therapy three times a day, and kept us updated with photos and messages through the Rover app, which really gave us peace of mind. On top of that, she stayed at our house while we were away and left it spotless. We even came home to a sweet note and a flower on the counter. Melissa truly went above and beyond, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.”

“Brianna took wonderful care of my two dogs! She is kind and great about communicating. She took good care of the house as well. I'd love to have Brianna take care of my pups again.”

Devon watched our dog Willow in August 2026 for a week in our townhouse. . She was great! She had a way with Willow that we could see to make sure there was a connection to keep Willow comfortable and safe. . Devon sent pictures all week long. When we came back, Willow was happy and not stressed. Going forward, we will keep going back to Devon when we are away. We were lucky ro find her…just amazing. We highly recommend her. Karen and Frank R.

Sonya was an incredibly kind, caring, trustworthy and responsible care giver for my dog [a 75 pound yellow lab] and my house. She was very easy to coordinate with and provided confidence that my dog would be well taken care of while we were away. Sonya sent up photos and updates throughout making our trip that much more enjoyable. Thank you Sonya - I would highly recommend her and can't wait to reach out to her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wellesley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wellesley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wellesley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wellesley. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
