About: Hello! My name is Melissa, and I’m a dependable and caring pet sitter with a true love for dogs. I have personal experience caring for dogs and am comfortable handling daily routines like feeding, walking, and giving oral medication when needed. I understand how important consistency and proper care are to keep pets healthy and happy. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide reliable care and I’ll do my best to accommodate your pet’s specific needs and routine. Whether your dog loves playtime, long walks, or just relaxing with some company, I’m happy to provide attentive, loving care while you’re away. Please note - unable to care for dogs with cats in the same household due to allergies. I work full time during the day (Monday through Friday) but have a flexible schedule. Please let me know what you need and I will do my best to accommodate you and your pet’s specific needs. I’m also available on weekends. I’ll focus on maintaining their normal routine to keep your pet comfortable and stress free. I can provide reliable feedings, fresh water, exercise, and playtime tailored your pet’s needs. I can also provide regular updates for your peace of mind.
About: I grew up with a variety of pets, and I thoroughly love all kinds of animals! My family had a dog about 19years, and we took care of him from puppy years to old age. I have my own dog, Roxy a collie mix, who I raised by myself from 4mo old and she has learned so much! I am a travel nurse so I’m not from the area and I am free any day that I’m not working! I typically do 3 - 12hr night shifts. Since I am not from the area I cannot take animals into my own place, but I am very flexible and willing to accommodate any way that is needed for you and your pet's needs.

About: Throughout my 18 years, I had 5 dogs all Chihuahuas. They were definetly harder to take care of and train. My recent dog passed away 2 years ago due to skin cancer. I wasn't sure what to make of it. I knew he wasn't going to make it but I still continued to attempted to feed him, clean his sore on his nose and get him diapers to use the bathroom in. When he left, I had a void as if I was missing something. I began dog sitting for a close friend in the beginning of 2025, I realized that I enjoyed being surrounded by animals to comfort me. It makes me feel like I have a friend again. I treated them like they were my own. I followed the schedules and instructions that were given to me and tried to make sure that I was doing everything correctly. I asked questions before and during the pet care to make sure the pet felt safe as if there parents were taking care of them. In the summer, I will be enrolled in a Nursing Assistant course, however, it will only be for 4-5 hours 2 times every week. I am a college student so I will try to be getting as much money as I can to help me achieve my future goals and career. However, I will mostly be free throughout the afternoon and night to achieve the needs of my employer. In my clients home, I will try my best to offer what I can in cases of safety in the environment. If the client doesn't want their cat to be wondering outside then I will try my best to keep them inside. While walking the dog, I will try my best to be patient until they pee or poop. I will try to follow what's best on the schedule for the clients pets.

“Skylar is very flexible with our schedule. Tilly is very happy when I get home after her walks with Skylar! Skylar was very easy to create a plan with when she first came to visit. The house is always cleaned up after Tilly's indoor playtime, too! I would highly recommend her! Thank you, Skylar!”

“My husband and I adopted Junebug from the shelter recently and needed some help over the weekend while we were both at work. Christy met with us prior to the first visit. Junebug is timid around most people initially, but she warmed up to Christy right away! Christy came twice a day and really gave us peace of mind while we were gone at work. We received multiple pictures during their visit, which really made our day. We will definitely be booking with Christy again!”

I have a very friendly neighborhood and my apartment does not welcome new pets per the lease agreement. I take excellent care of my pets and others because I am enthusiastic about animals.
About: I have always grown up with pets as well as taking care of dogs and cats of family friends. I even recently took care of a bird! I have two cats and a dog of my own and I’m looking forward to providing care for your furry family members For the month of September I will be unavailable Monday-Thursday, and from October on I will be unavailable Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I am a great option if you are looking for Wednesday doggy daycare, or looking for someone to watch your pet for the weekend. Please feel free to reach out even if I am marked as unavailable to see if we can work something out for you. Every pet is different so I will be sure to follow any instructions the pet owner leaves for me. I have done babysitting and pet sitting for many different people and different homes so I am used to using extra care with other peoples pets and space.
About: I’ve had pets my entire life, mostly cats and dogs. I’m a new retiree looking for a way to spend my days. I can’t think of anything better than pet sitting! I recently retired and need a way to stay active! Dog walking will certainly help me do that! If you have a cat that needs to be walked, I’m all in! I will follow all of the rules of your home for your pet. I want you and your pet to feel comfortable with me in your home.
“I needed someone to walk my dog on very short notice. Kayla said she was available and within the hour she had my dog on a walk. When they returned, it was clear that my dog enjoyed her walk and was comfortable with Kayla, so now she'll be walking her twice a week for me. I'd definitely recommend her to others looking for a dog walker!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs my whole life. I have always had a dog in my home, and this previous year I raised a puppy so I have experience with that as well. I am also good with senior dogs, as well as, dogs who are blind and/or deaf. At home, I walk my dogs daily as well as let them outside as often as they needed. I spent a lot of time playing with them and giving them lots of love. I often cat sit, and I love to spend extra time at the house playing with the cats, whether they are interested in me or couldn’t care less. I miss my dogs like crazy so I am super excited to meet your furry friends! I am a full time college student, so I have classes throughout the week. Monday’s and Tuesday’s are my busiest days, so I probably will not take jobs that land on either of those. The rest of my weekdays are pretty open, as long as your dog can go a couple hours home alone. As for the weekends, I do not have any specific time commitments. I most likely will not be able to spend all day Saturday and Sunday in your home, but if you communicate how much time your pets need I can do my best. I am happy to spend Friday and Saturday nights in your home, but I will sleep in the dorms on any school night. At home, we did not have any fence to keep our dogs in the yard. I supervise at all times when a dog is outside, and I am open to taking them out on a leash if that is what you prefer.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
