“Cory was a fantastic walker and play buddy for Koda! He was willing to come and meet koda ahead of time and get to know him! We will definitely use Cory again!”

About: I am an experienced pet sitter with both personal and professional experience with animals of all species, temperaments, age, and health status. I have multiple years of experience in both emergency and general practice clinics and am thus confident in my ability to handle pets, distribute medication as needed, and recognize and respond to emergencies. Any animal in my care will be treated as my baby! ❤️ As a veterinary student, my schedule offers flexibility due to lunch breaks and large gaps between classes. I would love to share my daily study-break walks with your furry friend or spend the weekend with a study buddy while you’re away. I am unable to have a dog of my own right now and would be absolutely THRILLED to spend time with yours! My priority is always the animal’s safety and comfort. Whether that means showering your pet with lots of love or respecting their personal space, my goal is to provide your pet with a positive experience in my care.

“Jessica is so kind, fun, and clearly is meant to be around animals in one way or another. My boys were THRILLED to see her every morning. She was helping me out as I’m dealing with cancer - her flexibility and understanding nature helped me trust her in my home and with my boys. Book her!”

“Daniel was phenomenal. He took extra time with my pup and has such a great attitude. I’m so glad he agreed to help me. Would definitely recommend Daniel to anyone looking for pet care!”

“Ash was spectacular with our dogs! Walks were exactly when requested, dogs were treated great and looked soo happy! Definitely rebooking for my next trip out of town!”

“Brad was amazing with our dog! He was incredibly conscious and respectful about maintaining any routines and training we had already established with our dog and was great with our sometimes unruly boy! I was very impressed with how communicative he was and took very well composed and extremely cute photos to send us! I would absolutely recommend Brad!”

“Very friendly and responsive!!”

“Hotdog Troy is an absolute sweetheart with animals! I am trying to help my Australian Cattle Dog, Nala, who is a skittish ARL rescue, become more comfortable around males and new surroundings. Troy was very patient and first conducted a meet and greet with a hotdog. The next day, Nala opened up and was able to walk comfortably with Troy. He gives the best updates, including photos. Highly recommend!”

About: I have taken care of my own and other's cats and dogs for years, from feeding, to exercising and of course plenty of clean up occasions. Not only have I managed a family home with both cats and dogs, but I also showed one of my dogs for AKC confirmation and graduated with another one of my dogs from obedience classes. I bottle fed two of my cats when they were infants and have cared for both cats and dogs into their senior, twilight years. I even cared for one of my senior dogs after she became deaf and blind. Just recently I helped usher my beloved 15-year-old cat across the rainbow. She was the last of my own pets. I have experience with dispensing oral medications and insulin shots to cats and dogs from very young pets as well as aging ones. In my professional life I was very organized, detailed oriented and practiced great communication skills. I will bring all this experience to the care and feeding of your beloved animals. I've experienced so much with my own and other folks’ pets, but now my two dogs and two-cat-household is feeling a little empty. So please let me offer my heart and hands to care for your dear fur babies. I am recently retired and have some on-going activities and appointments, but I also have quite a bit of freedom to determine my own schedule and be flexible. I have time and availability for daily visits, dog walking, or even in your household for overnight care. In your home I can offer feeding visits, occasional visits, dog walking, and if required, overnight at your home. Let's me know what you need to care best for your pet.

About: We lost our beloved dog "Chester" in 2022 and our home has felt empty ever since. Both my husband & I have grown up with dogs & we loved playing, walking and cuddling w/Chester. The unconditional love he provided to our family was priceless. My husband & I are empty nesters as of last fall, 2023 & we are available to care and watch your dog on a weekday or weekend.. Your dog will be loved in our home as much as it is in your home. We will thoroughly enjoy spoiling it like it is our own pet! We live downtown Des Moines & will be able to walk your dog regularly to near by parks/Grays Lake. I like to know what the sleep/feeding schedule of your dog is, as well as any tricks they know, the time between bathroom breaks, and how the interact with other dogs.

About: Caring for people and pets comes naturally to me. I worked in nursing for several years before leaving to care for my father full time.between that and being a mom giving love and care comes easy. I have 3 dogs of my own, all of which are friendly and love a bit of play time. I am a big believer in fresh air and exercise. Let's get those steps in for your 4 legged family member. I don't work a regular job, I care for my elderly father and do some side work here and there. So I am available for walking or drop in visits at a moments notice. I have a fenced in yard and food and treats at the ready. Many leashes and brushes and more. I have 3 dogs of my own that love to play with each other and yours too. I can also keep my dogs away if yours isn't socialized to others.

About: Hi there! I’m a full-time professional based in Des Moines with a big heart for animals—especially dogs. I share my life with a lovable poodle who’s full of energy and joy. We spend a lot of time going on walks and playing fetch, so I understand the importance of keeping dogs active, happy, and loved. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether it’s a walk, some playtime, or just good company, I’ll make sure your dog is well cared for and treated like family. I’m reliable, caring, and always ready to give pets the attention they deserve. I’d love the chance to care for your furry friend! I currently work full time in Des Moines at a retirement home. I am usually pretty flexible with my schedule and can fit anything in. I have one dog who enjoys going on walks as well as runs with me every day. He loves playing fetch and loves chasing after birds.

“I wish I could give even more of a tip (rover won't let me give more than 30%), but Monica did an amazing job today. My dog had an accident in the house and she cleaned it up even though she didn't have to. Words cannot describe how awesome Monica is. 12/10 would recommend to anyone.”

About: I’ve taken care of cats, dogs, gerbils, hamsters and fish for over 15 years. I graduated from Iowa State with a degree in Animal Ecology. I did an internship there in a genetics lab where I helped care for and administer medications to dogs and cats. I’ve also worked at various veterinary clinics as both a vet technician and a receptionist. I also volunteered at several animal shelters. For house sitting, I’ll spend several hours in the morning and again in the evening with your pet. Timing is flexible based on your pet’s routine, and I’m always happy to discuss what works best. Please not I am unable to stay overnight. For cats, visit lengths depend on their comfort level. If they’re shy or easily stressed, I may keep visits shorter to help them feel safe. Every pet is different, and I do my best to adjust to their individual needs. I follow directions given to me because I know pet parents know what’s best for their fur babies! In your home I can water plants, clean litter boxes, and other small house hold chores.

“Nila loved going on a walk with Alexandra and was so happy afterwards! She was flexible even with our last minute request, great at communicating, and understood the differences in dog personalities and how to work with that. Definitely would recommend her!”

About: We always had dogs growing up. I’ve had my own dog for 4 years. I love being around dogs and want to show yours as much love as I show my own. I work from home 2-3 days a week. I’m also available for overnight boarding depending on the night and weekends. Just ask if I’m available! I have a fenced in backyard. Your dog is welcome on beds and furniture. My house and property is very dog friendly for all types.

About: I’m always the go to dog-sitter for my family and friends every now and then! I work entirely remote and am always home during the work days. We’ve also got a great fenced in yard to play in! I work fully remote from my home office, so my schedule is very flexible to play with your pets and be around them all day. I have no pets of my own, so my house is very quiet and calm. I have a fenced in, modest yard for your pup to play in!

“Lisa walked our 2 dogs several times when we were on a long vacation. We had great communication and our dogs were very comfortable with her. I would definitely recommend her services.”

About: I have watched multiple dogs and cats for friends, family, and coworkers. I love being around pets and making sure they are taken care of to the best of my ability! I’m a collage student so I have lots of availability in between classes and at night. Besides homework and occasional work my weekends are also open most of the time. I have both stayed at clients homes along with just running over to let the dogs out and to play for a little bit. So when staying in a home I often times let the dog out right away in the morning, around lunch time, in the late afternoon, and right before bed unless specified otherwise. I’m comfortable with pets sleeping in the same bed and room as me.

About: I love caring for animals, and I don’t take the responsibility lightly at all. I know it can be stressful to leave your pets in someone else’s care, and I’ll do everything I can to make you and your pets as comfortable as possible! I work remotely as a graphic designer Tuesday-Friday 8am-6:30pm. I can work from your home if needed, or of course I can drop in at specified times, or care for your pets in my home. I have a cat, so I would keep him separate from your animals if they stay in my home. I would make sure they had plenty of space and comfort items to make them feel safe. I would do the same if I was caring for pets in your home, and make sure to keep up their routine as best as I can.

Dawn B.Star Sitter
“Cats and dogs are definitely Dawn’s specialty when it comes to pet-sitting duties. Our family left the country for a week and we had no doubt that our pets would be cleaned up after, walked, fed properly, and given the same structure we practice while we were gone. She also stayed in our home which was perfectly tidy when we returned home from vacation. Her communication and organization were both very appreciated.”

Jill & Dino C.
“Jill loves animals especially dogs....she always says no animal loves humans more then dogs! This is so true and know she means it every time she says it.”

Madison B.
“Madison loves all animals. She is patient and caring. She currently takes care of our 3 dogs. She has had pets her entire life she understands what they need. She is the only one who can brush our Great pyrenees. She would be very helpful with caring for any pet.”
