“Caitlyn has been coming over 2-3x a week to let our dog out during the day. She (with permission, of course) took my dog for pup cups on both her birthday and her gotcha day. She always puts my dog first, and loves her as her own, and my dog is obsessed with her. I will continually recommend Caitlyn to anyone I know who is looking for someone to check on their pet.”

9. Hannah G.
About: I’ve been around animals my whole life, of all shapes and sizes. I love all animals. I’ve grown up with hunting dogs, big dogs, farm animals, and cats. I am always willing to go for midday lunch walks or weekend check ins while you are out and about being social (in the Ankeny/Polk City area). My boyfriend works blue collar, so sometimes I have a lot of time to myself while he’s working, I’d love to fill in with walks at night in the Ankeny area. Some nights he may even join if he’s home. We have a puppy of our own that could join, pending your permission of course. I am always very cautious when going in for my furry friends for walks, making sure they are safe. I’m full of love and attention and energy to burn so I’d love a buddy.
10. Brenda E.
About: I have been around puppy dogs all of my life. From Saint Bernards to chihuahuas to basset hounds to mini dachshunds and everything in between. I am also the proud grannie of a Dutch shepherd. Having lost my 13-year-old companion a few years ago my heart is finally ready to help others take care of their loved ones. I am currently working full-time downtime and am available for early morning and evening potty breaks and walks. Depending on the location I can pop in over lunch. I am also available to stay overnight with your little one. I believe furry ones are more comfortable in their own homes. I strive to provide as much normalcy as possible to their routine. They will miss you, facetime is always an option for them to hear your voice.
11. Jane O.
About: Hi, I’m Jane! I’ve been professionally caring for dogs since 2015, and I make it a priority to learn about each pet before we meet. This includes researching breed-specific needs and understanding any medical conditions to ensure I provide the best possible care. For both dogs and cats, I strive to stick as closely as possible to your routine, while adding a little extra love and exercise to help ease their anxiety while you’re away. PRICING: I offer a base rate for the first pet, with a small additional fee for each extra pet. If you have both dogs and cats, the base rate applies only once per household. Pricing Example: 1 dog, 2 cats: $19 + $4 + $4 = $27 (Note: Fees will be updated prior to booking. Pets must be from the same household.) I have a senior male Chihuahua who accompanies me on overnight stays, so my availability for house-sitting is limited to pet families where this won't be an issue. I work from home and can be flexible for scheduled drop-ins or house-sitting. The pets I care for enjoy frequent breaks to play, walk, or relax in near my lap while I work on my laptop. My policy is to never let a dog out of my sight, even in a fenced yard. Pets can often behave unpredictably when separated from their owners. I focus on keeping them engaged through exercise and play tasks, providing plenty of distractions until your return. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities.
12. Jada W.
“Jada loves all animals and has her whole life. She takes excellent care of her two dogs. She’s very dependable and punctual. Her dogs have the run of her large backyard. She’d be an excellent choice to care for animals.”
13. Courtney C.
“Courtney is a great communicator and clearly loves animals! My dog Roscoe had a great time on walks with her, and our cat even got some bonus love out of it. I especially liked the funny and creative pictures Courtney took.”
14. Joseph L.
“Joeseph is a great dude through and through. He watches my Labrador retriever when I leave town and can’t take her with me and does a great job. I trust she’s in good hands and never worry about her while I’m away. I know he walks her, feeds her on my schedule, and often will take her to the park to get her excercise. He is a pet lover and I know before his golden retriever passed, his retriever was truly one of his most important priorities and treated his dog as a family member. I’d have Joeseph watch my pet anytime!”
15. Allison G.
“Allison is amazing! She went above and beyond helping me with my precious Vivian ? Highly recommend!”
