“I was very happy with Jenevieve taking care of my puppy. She has lots of energy and she seemed to handle that very well. She came home at ease. I will use her again for Zippy.”

“My little guy Giuseppe had SUCH a great time with Buttercup. I received daily communication and pictures/vides. Robbie and her family were wonderful and I would highly recommend!”

“Meagan took exceptional care of our Maycee! She sent regular updates daily and kept us informed on what she was doing and how she was doing. I really felt like she was being cared for by a friend or family member after meeting Meagan just once. This was the first time we have used Rover and having Meagan care for our dog gave us such piece of mind.”

“I think my Sam had a great time with Cynthia and family…and he was so lucky that Cynthia’s daughter was there with her little dog Reggie, so he had a playmate the whole time he was there (9days). Cynthia watered her plants outside and my Sam loves to be watered also. And with the very hot weather, he enjoyed it. Will be returning!”

“Serius absolutely loved his first time going to a doggy babysitter. He was a stressed out neurotic mess for 2 weeks before we found Cassandra. He came home so much calmer, and happy. This will become a regular part of his routine now, so he can get out of the house, and socialize a little more.”

“We love Erin, Chris, and their family! They treat our dog, Bailey like their own. They are super easy to work with and I love knowing that Bailey is in a loving home while we are gone.”

“Kevin was absolutely wonderful with my sweet Terry. From the very first day, he kept in constant communication, sharing updates that truly put my heart at ease. It was clear that Terry was not just cared for, but genuinely loved and treated like family during the 9 days she stayed with him. I’m so grateful to have found Kevin through Rover, and I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to trust him with Terry again. Highly, highly recommended!”

“Kayla was a fantastic host for our dog. This was our first Rover experience and she made it a great one. Very responsive and answered any questions we had. Highly recommend her to anyone!”

“Melanie and family were wonderful. We had so much peace of mind having our 2 small dogs in their care for our 2+ week trip to Europe. They did a great job updating us and sending pictures. 5 stars all around!!! We look forward to booking with them again in the future. :)”

“We have an incredibly shy dog. He is very leery of people and we have tended to not board him. Osvaldo and his family were AMAZING with our dog. They were petting him, he was sleeping at their feet, and they were taking him for walks in the park--something he never does well. We loved all the updates, his home was set up for taking care of dogs, and he had other dogs to play with while we were gone--something he loves. I think Osvaldo is a dog whisperer. Magic--sheer magic! Even our dog trainer couldn't get these results from him. We are forever indebted and will use him again!”

“Maricela was awesome with easing in Sami into her home, giving her space to get used to the new environment. She sent pictures daily and was always incredibly responsive in both the inquiry and once booked. She accommodated our requests and was incredibly friendly. Definitely recommend Maricela if you are looking for someone that will treat your pet as their own!”

“Alice was amazing! I was so nervous about leaving my dog with someone I did not know but she put me at ease as soon as we met. It was readily apparent that she has a lot of experience with dogs, and the safety and well-being of those in her care is her primary concern. She sent daily photos, videos and updates while I was gone. And it was obvious that Lucky enjoyed himself while he was there. Alice is a kind-hearted and responsible caregiver. She is at the top of my call list for future needs. Thanks Alice!”

“We hit the lottery finding this family!!! Alicia, Dan, and their daughter took absolutely incredible care of my dog, Coco. From the moment we connected, they made me feel completely comfortable leaving her in their care. They treated Coco like she was part of their family! Every day Alicia sent updates and photos, which meant so much to me and gave me total peace of mind while I was away. It was clear from the pictures and messages that Coco was happy, loved, and getting tons of attention 😊 I could not have had a better experience!!! I will absolutely be booking with them (and only them!) again! ❤️🐾”

“We came to Iowa for a wedding. Cory took good care of our 2 senior dogs (labs). One has separation anxiety that he was able to comfort and the other took a nap on his bed. He walked and fed them.”

“Mackenzie and Anthony took great care of our pup! They treated him how we would, making him feel at home. We received plenty of updates, and our dog always looked so happy. We would recommend them for others needing a sitter!”

“Violet had a wonderful time with Allie, Henry and Hazel! which allowed us to relax and have a wonderful time on our vacation too! The daily updates and pictures were great!! I highly recommend Allie!!!”

“Andrea was one of a kind sitter. She took great care of our fuzzball, so well that we could enjoy our vacation without worries. She responded quickly to all our messages and sent us pictures. She went above and beyond to accomodate our delayed flight. So very sorry, Andrea. Will definitely book again when we are in the area. Highly recommend Andrea!”

“Jessica was great with our pups. She made sure Chopper got his medicine every day and they had so much fun playing with the other dogs that were there. Jessica was also super friendly and sent pictures and videos regularly”

“Ali did a wonderful Job! This was our first time using Rover, Ali took great care of our cats and we will for sure be rebooking next time we go out of town!”

“Cory has helped me out a couple times before and I'll continue to use him in the future. He is professional, timely, and communicates very well. Thank you!”

“Morgan was absolutely phenomenal! We have some older cats who require medication and she was a pro! Will definitely be reaching out again the next time we leave town.”

“Lisa took great care of my cat, Pebbles, while I was gone for 3 nights & 4 days! Lisa is kind, caring, and communicates well with customers. She was flexible with my drop off and pick up times. I just texted her to give her updates on when I thought I would be there and she got right back to me stating it was no problem. Her location is easy/ convenient to get in and out. Lisa sent me updates and pics of my cat throughout my trip, via text. I appreciated this very much because I could see how content Pebbles was. Furthermore, due to my cat being an "only cat," Lisa was able to provide a secure & separate space for Pebbles, away from other animals. Lisa also has a TON of fun toys and exploratory items for cats to hide, climb, and play! Pebbles adjusted to Lisa very easily and acclimated to her new/ temporary environment extremely well! When I picked up Pebbles after my trip, I think she was sad to leave her new, temporary home! Overall, I would definitely recommend Lisa to anyone who needs a pet sitter--you will have peace of mind while you're gone that your pet is being safely cared for with love!”

“Daniel was a great caretaker for our cats while we were away. He carefully followed all our weird instructions and house oddities and gave the cats lots of love. I would highly recommend him to others seeking reliable, loving care.”

“Hannah was flexible, upbeat, and easy to work with. She had no troubles with our older (grumpier) dog. Thanks for taking such great care of our four legged family member!”
“LOVE all the care Ash has with my cat, Gucci. I’m traveling for a month and Ash has been very communicative, helpful and supportive all the time. She answers me in a timely manner, send pictures and makes me feel safe with my choice of choosing her to take care of my cat. Best choice ever.”

“Jenevieve was everything we could ask for! She sent pictures, asked great questions and put our mind at ease while we travelled. We will definitely book with her again!”

“Mackenzie is super reliable and I trust them to give my dog the care she needs and be in my home while I’m at work! I love getting the videos and pictures that they send me”

About: I grew up in a home with pets and enjoy being able to include them in our home and give them love and attention while their owners are away. I work from home and am able to care for your pet weekdays except for Fridays and occasionally over the weekend schedule depending. I have a fenced in yard and my family and I love to play fetch with dogs or tug of war and we usually walk around the neighborhood several times throughout the day to enjoy nature and get our limbs moving and love to have a dog on our walk with us as we stroll the neighborhood. About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life. I had my own pup since I was 2, and he was truly my best friend. I cared for him through his senior years, giving him meds, comfort, and gentle support right up until he passed on Halloween. Because of that, I understand how to be patient, loving, and calm with older dogs, and I treat every pet like family. Your dog will get real care, attention, and kindness with me. I’m currently looking for a job, so my schedule is very flexible. I’m available any day of the week for dog walking and pet sitting. When caring for dogs, I focus on keeping them comfortable, safe, and loved. I follow their routine, give lots of attention, make sure they’re fed on time, and keep their space clean. I also have a fenced-in backyard, so dogs can get fresh air and play safely. I’m patient, gentle, and always pay attention to their needs so they feel at home with me.
“Taitum was so accommodating to my schedules and my pup seemed to have so much fun. Even though his stay was for just a few hours, she was so communicative and sent pictures!!”

About: I have personally had a pet or 3 since I was 13 years old. I begged for a cat for years and once I got one, I never have been without at least one pet. I have been volunteering with the ARL since 2005. I have had 30+ foster dogs through them as well. I just love animals. I do have weekends blocked but just ask about availability! I am retired. I enjoy going for walks with dogs and depending on the dog spending time outside in my fenced in backyard. I have a 6 foot fence. Your dog will have the ability to be part of our family and our family pets are on our furniture. We do separate our home animals, fosters and house guests at night. The "regulars" get to sleep in our beds while our guests get other accommodations. It makes for better harmony for us. Because we foster on a regular basis our animals are very used to different dogs coming into our home. Our home is pretty quiet and relaxing.
About: I grew up on a farm, caring for pets of all shapes and sizes! I've had many dogs over the years, from young to old and big to small. I am experienced with giving medication, baths, nail trims and love! I am very adaptable to your pets needs. I am currently in college, so I do have classes 4 days a week (Mon- Thurs). I am only away from home 4 hours at the most, and can make stops in to my apartment between classes on longer days. I am able to host pets in my apartment! I live in an upstairs studio apartment and spend much of my time there, when not in school. I have a 360°camera installed to watch your pet if I have to spend any time away. My apartment complex has a spacious lawn that is entirely fenced in. In my clients home, I am extra careful to follow any house rules. In case of overnight caretaking, I am comfortable with any sleeping arrangements (couch etc.). My top priorities are your pup and your preferences!
“Kimberlee is AWESOME!! Her and her son gave my pup all the lovins all day and she gave me updates throughout the day! She is very attentive and has a huge passion/love for dogs. I highly recommend her!!!”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life, of all shapes and sizes. I love all animals. I’ve grown up with working dogs, big dogs, feral cats, farm animals, horses, and everything in between. I am always willing to go for midday lunch walks (in the Ankeny/Polk City area) or weekend check ins in the metro, while you are out and about being social. My husband works blue collar, so sometimes I have a lot of time to myself while he’s working, I’d love to fill in with walks at night or weekends in the Highland Park/Saylor TWP/Beaverdale areas, but willing to venture out into the metro. I am always very cautious when going in for my furry friends for walks, making sure they are safe. I’m full of love and attention and energy to burn so I’d love a buddy. I’ve worked with highly trained dogs, and will honor any and all training your dogs follows.

“Jessica was great! She took time out of her night to come visit Koda the night before she walked him and see how they did with each other! She was also a great walker and was willing to just hang out with him outside of his kennel and play with his toys! We will definitely be going back to Jessica again!”

“Carly was amazing with my boy Murphy! She was very diligent to ensure my requests for Murphy were upheld. She would message me and see whether I wanted Murphy left out or kenneled. She was constantly giving updates and for that I am thankful. I would recommend Carly to anyone seeking someone to care for their dog!”

About: My family has had pets my whole life, and I spent a lot of time taking care of them. I’ve always had an ability to connect with animals of all sizes (and attitudes)! One of my strongest suits when meeting a new cat or dog is to evaluate and understand their own specific body language. They can tell us what they need, we just have to listen! I know some pets take a little longer to feel comfortable around a new human, and I always give them the space and patience that they need. I work during the day at a school, so I’m mostly free outside of school hours. I am also off work during school holidays. I do have some evening and weekend activities, but I still have plenty of time to take care of pets. Routines are very important for animals, so I will do what is needed to keep those routines in place and make them feel happy in their own home. As long as I know what the expectations are, we are good to go!
About: I’m a passionate animal lover who adapts to each pet’s unique needs. I have experience caring for puppies, senior pets, and pets who require extra care, extra attention, and tailored care. I focus on creating a safe, fun, and loving environment. Choosing me means choosing a sitter who treats your pets like family, with care, patience, and enthusiasm. I have a very flexible full time job schedule, so I am able to stop by at any time of the day or evening if needed! I provide loving, reliable care in the comfort of your pet’s own space. This includes feeding, giving fresh water, walking, playtime, administering medications if needed, and providing lots of attention and companionship. I also make sure your home stays safe and secure while you’re away, and I’ll keep you updated with pictures and messages so you know your pet is happy.

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pups of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’ve grown up around dogs, have two of my own, and have also spent time fostering dogs—so I’m very comfortable caring for dogs from all kinds of backgrounds, including those who may need a little extra patience, attention, or love. I provide attentive, reliable care tailored to your dog’s unique needs—whether that means long walks, playtime to burn energy, or a calm, comforting environment. My fostering experience has taught me how to read different behaviors, adapt quickly, and help dogs feel safe and at home. You can expect regular updates, clear communication, and peace of mind while you’re away. I treat every dog like they’re part of my own family and strive to make their time with me fun, stress-free, and full of love. I’d love to meet you and your pup! I work remotely and have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give your dog plenty of time, attention, and care throughout the day. I’m able to prioritize their needs—whether that’s sticking to a specific routine, getting outside for walks, or just providing companionship so they’re never left alone for long. My flexible schedule also means I can easily adapt to what works best for your pet, helping them feel comfortable, relaxed, and right at home. I’m great at adapting to each dog’s unique personality and energy level. If your pup is high-energy, I’m always happy to go on long walks, runs, or have active play sessions to keep them happy and engaged. If they’re more of a couch potato, I’m just as content slowing things down—whether that means relaxing together, giving plenty of pets, or simply keeping them company. My time as a foster dog mom has given me experience with all kinds of temperaments, from shy and nervous to energetic and playful. I’ve learned to be patient, attentive, and responsive to each dog’s needs, always taking the time to help them feel safe, comfortable, and at ease. My goal is to meet every dog where they’re at so they feel understood, supported, and truly cared for.

About: Interacting with animals has always been the highlight of my day. I have a decade of professional experience with pet care, primarily dogs and cats, but small animals and exotics as well. I have a beloved senior dog and a giant day gecko at home, but I grew up around a large range of animals, including dogs, birds, lizards, frogs, rodents and sugar gliders. I also have a bachelor's degree in biology with a particular interest in animals and plants. As a result, I have the experience, knowledge and passion to provide the high-quality care you're looking for. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which means that I am able to devote plenty of time and attention to your animals. I am always careful when opening doors to prevent escapes and take any specific safety concerns for your individual pets into account.

About: Hi, I’m Shane! Calm, steady walker who keeps things simple and safe. I’ve spent my whole life around animals, and I’m the kind of person who pays attention to the small things: body language, pacing, comfort, and routine. I like to consider myself patient, predictable, and confident, and that’s exactly how I approach every walk and visit. I’m available throughout the week and flexible with timing. If you want someone dependable who communicates clearly and treats your dog like an individual, I’d love to meet you and your pup! I currently care for multiple dogs and cats at home, so I’m used to feeding schedules, meds, crates, and different personalities. If your dog has special needs or quirks, I’m happy to follow your routine exactly.
About: As a dog mama myself, I understand that our dogs are more than just our pets. They’re an integral part of our family! I strive to provide them with the necessary care they need, but also the enrichment they need to thrive and live a happy life. I love to play with them, take them out for walks, and provide them with love and pets. It’s important to me that they are not just physically cared for, but they are mentally stimulated through play and emotionally cared for at every visit. I'm always mindful that all pets should be greeted with a slow introduction, that does not come off as intrusive, or threatening. Even the most social pets, can behave differently when an unfamiliar person enters their home while family is not present. I always take that into consideration upon each visit, as I get to know your dog/cat, and build a trusting relationship. Whether your pet goes out on a leash, uses a fenced in yard, or requires potty pads to go to the bathroom, I'll follow your instructions as discussed through the Rover app, or during our initial "meet and greet". Requested information about your pet -Medication schedule -Behavioral issues that may affect walking your pet on public sidewalks, history of biting or aggression while being fed. -Ongoing medical conditions -Vet number and/or emergency contact I currently work on a hybrid schedule - 3 days in West Des Moines and 2 days at home in Ankeny. I have a flexible schedule where I can pop around to your pet when needed. I have a heart for animals along with the patience needed to give quality pet care. Your pet will always come first and I would treat them as if they are my own.

“Shaelea is absolutely wonderful! Loki had the time of his life playing with all his new furry friends at her place. I so appreciated the frequent updates, photos, and videos she sent, it made being away much easier. I'll definitely be recommending her to all the dog parents out there. Thank you so much, Shaelea! :)”

“Rachael was amazing. She responded back quickly and got a meet & greet done with. She listened to instructions and seems passionate about canine care! Definitely recommend and will continue to hire her!”

“Karina is a wonderful pet sitter, she sent us pictures and a video of our Coco while pet sitting here. Coco seemed to enjoy the time with her and even though Coco and her cat Sylvia didn't get along, everything went just fine, Karina manage to make it work. I would definitely book with her next time again!!”

“I think Missy has got to be the best sitter my dog Bella has ever had. Not only did Missy welcome the challenge of a spicy chihuahua but she mastered it. By the end she let her hold her! And if any of you are owners of little anxious dogs you know this is a big deal!! Missy also did a great job communicating with us and sending tons of photos which we appreciated. Having Bella stay with Missy made us feel at ease, allowing us to enjoy our trip to the fullest knowing Bella was in good hands. Would highly recommend booking with Missy and I’m sure Bella looks forward to her next visit!”
