About: I've spent my life caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities, and I'm comfortable adapting to each pet's unique needs. I grew up with a pitbull who was very territorial and not friendly with strangers, so I’ve learned to understand warning signs and am comfortable with caring for dogs with behavioral issues. Today, I care for a lively household that includes an extremely energetic French Bulldog, a gentle and timid German Shepherd mix (very very large dog), a Maine Coon cat, a chinchilla, and 11 chickens. I have taken care of older dogs that needed physical support during walks, as well as dogs with medicine schedules. I am comfortable with manually putting medicine into a dog’s mouth if necessary for their routine. I have also cared for corn snakes, ball pythons and axolotls. My experience with such a wide range of critters has made me confident in caring for pets of any size, personality, and needs. I am currently on summer break from college, so my schedule is entirely flexible from Sunday-Friday. I work a part-time job on Saturdays so that is the only day I am unavailable. I can adhere to strict schedules, and I am very attentive to feeding/walking/medicine routines. I will give your pet lots of attention and as much playtime as they need (even if that means hours of high-energy play). On walks, I am used to dogs that roam somewhat freely (on a leash), but I also grew up walking a dog that I had to keep away from all people and animals, so I am able to accommodate your dog during walks in any way necessary. No matter what, you can rest assured that your pet will be loved and cared for.
“So happy to have found Brenda on Rover! She is super reliable and manages to interact with all four of my dogs and sends me a little blip of their time together and fun pics! I couldn’t have picked a better person to be with my fur babies. Thank you!”

“Beth was fantastic. Really fast communication and took great care of our cat. I was so happy to see the photos of our shy cat come out to say hi and get pets from Beth. That’s a really good sign that she felt comfortable. I would recommend Beth and will definitely be hiring her next time we need to!”

“Lauren was awesome with our two kitties! One is very outgoing and one is shy, and Lauren made a real effort to connect with both of them. She left the most detailed notes we’ve ever gotten on Rover, and was super communicative. We would definitely have her back to take care of our babies!”

“Erin recently took care of my 8 month old goldendoodle. Erin did an excellent job and was very detailed in her follow up. I am happy to have found such a responsible dog lover to take care of my dog. I look forward to using Erin in the future!”
“Hannah did a great job caring for our 2 cats. She followed instructions well and is super friendly. Our boys were well cared for. One of our cats has diabetes and needs insulin given subdermally via syringe, along with oral meds, and Hannah did well with administering those. Very reliable, kind sitter. I would highly recommend Hannah!”

About: I've been with and around pets since I was 14. I am a reliable resource to pet, play, feed, and walk neighbors' and friends animals for lots of time. I don't personally have any pets myself, but I often have dogs come stay with us and go visit other people's pets. I'm used to a dog running around and everyday responsibilities of having a pet/ I care for pets in my home or clients' home with the knowledge of what the dog is allowed and not allowed to do, what boundaries the home has, and the animal's safety at the front of my mind at all times.

About: I have been volunteering in a local animal shelter for about 6 months and after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh I am looking to commit more time to helping out the people and pets in my community! In the shelter I helped admitted lost animals and I have experience walking and taking dogs out for field trips. During field trips I would walk dogs through frick park, relax on my porch, and take them to get a pup cup! I loved being able to help out the dogs and give them the love they deserve! I have passed the Fear Free shelter program and have experience with dog walking as well as caring for my family’s own cat and dog. I am excited to start this new journey! I currently work from home 9-5 in the Oakland area. I’m an active adult who already likes to walk throughout my day and would love to add a dog friend to that! I would have time at lunch, as well as before or after work to care for your dog. My lunch is flexible so I can work around you! On weekends I have open availability. In the middle of work days I would not be able to provide more than 30 minutes walking or spending time with your dog, but before/after week days and during weekends I could spent up to and hour with your dog to give them extra love! In my client’s home I would care for the pet just as you would! I would ask for and follow your instructions on how you would like your pet cared for and would of course give him or her lots of love!
About: I will treat your pet as well as I treat my own! I have lots of experience with dogs and cats. I have done over night stays, drop ins for feedings for cats and also walks or if they just need some love and attention. I currently work part time on Mondays and Thursdays so I can be available on the other days listed for visits or for a potty break or a walk. I will take great care stopping by in your home and follow whatever specific instructions are left for me to stop for a visit or walk.
“This was the first time we used Christina, but it will most certainly not be the last. She paid such incredible attention to our two cats— and did everything we asked of her and then some. She took excellent care of them, offered to take packages in off the porch, she even offered to bring our garbage cans in! :-) Christina is outstanding and we can’t recommend her highly enough. THANK YOU!”

“Katrina is always thoughtful and cares deeply for your furry kids. She’s always making sure everything is right, and if not, she’ll figure out a way to make it right.”

“Samantha was great! We were out all day and needed someone to drop by, feed our Milo, and take him for a walk! We will definitely be reaching out to her for future walks and visits!”

“Dawn is magnificent with dogs. So easy to work with and she has a huge heart. Gives great feedback and helpful tips. She goes the extra mile—including rescuing a baby bunny that my lightening fast puppy managed to catch! She’s a true animal lover and a wonderful, kind human being. Need a dog sitter? Do your pet a huge favor and pick Dawn!”

“Elisa has cared for both of our cats and our large dog. She is prompt and always sends pictures. She makes every effort to interact with our pets whenever she comes over. Everything is clean and everyone is well-cared for. Thank you for being here for us, Elisa!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Warrington
Angela is a wonderful pet sitter! Why my wife was out of town and I was working, Angela came by for a daytime visit to check on our dog Charlie and our cat Tokyo. We are so pleased with the level of care she provided. She showed genuine warmth and affection for our animals, and he gave me great peace of mind, knowing they were getting so much love during the day. I highly recommend her!

Christina was amazing with our husky lab! She gave him all of the attention, followed directions to a tee, and was very mindful of the questions she asked to make sure she was prepared to watch him. He also requires medication and she didn’t skip a beat with delivering it. Don’t hesitate to book her - she’s the best!

- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
