“Mrs. Susan was a blessing for my pup while we traveled out of the country! He was very well taken care of and made to feel at home. We will definitely book with her again!”

“We highly recommend!! Karyn was absolutely wonderful!! Lots of updates, photos and videos. It was Stella’s first time with her, and she had a great time! Also, Stella and Dakota (Karyn’s Dog) got along really well. Thank you so much for taking care of our Stella! She will be seeing you soon.”

“Lola, my son’s dog seemed so happy to be with Amanda…she is terrified of storms but Amanda let her sit in her lap during the worst part…very sweet lady who loves animals…we are leaving Lola again for about 8 days and are confident that she will be happy and well cared for…thanks Amanda❣️”

“Tamara did an amazing job taking care of Rico. I was very nervous, when I had to leave him, but she constantly informed me of how he was doing, and took plenty of pictures. I had a great trip , and didn’t have to worry about how Rico was doing. I recommend Tamara 100%”

“Everything was perfect. Raven took very well care of our dog. Her house is very clean and the dog staid together with her family and her own dogs. She walkes the dogs and she even prepared special dog food. She was also flexible when our picking up was delayed a little. Communication was fast and easy. Thank you!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats my entire life, and my love for animals is at the heart of everything I do. I understand that pets are family, and I treat every dog and cat in my care with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. I have experience caring for puppies, adult pets, senior pets, and elderly or disabled dogs that require extra patience, compassion, and specialized care. Whether your pet needs an energetic walking companion, medication reminders, gentle assistance, or simply lots of affection and reassurance, I’m committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. At home, I’m a proud pet parent to two wonderful dogs, Sweetnezz and Sugar, and my cat, Meow. Caring for them every day has taught me the importance of consistency, trust, and creating a calm, happy environment. When you entrust your furry family member to me, you can have peace of mind knowing they’ll receive dependable, loving care and plenty of attention. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel completely comfortable, confident, and cared for every step of the way. I work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to provide dependable pet care throughout the day. Whether your pet needs a walk, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, medication, or just some extra love and companionship, I have the time to give them the attention they deserve. Caring for animals has always been a part of my daily life. As a proud pet parent myself, I understand how important it is to know your furry family members are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m passionate about helping both pets and their owners by providing loving, reliable care and treating every dog and cat as if they were my own. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pet is receiving the same compassion, patience, and attention I’d want for my own Sweetnezz, Sugar, and Meow. I provide loving, dependable care in the comfort of your pet’s own home, where they feel the safest and most relaxed. I follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible to help reduce stress and keep them happy while you’re away. My services include feeding, fresh water, treats (with your approval), walks, potty breaks, playtime, companionship, administering medications if needed, and plenty of love and attention. I’ll also make sure your pet gets the exercise, affection, and care they deserve while keeping you updated with messages and photos for extra peace of mind. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and needs, so I take the time to get to know them and provide personalized care. My goal is to make sure your furry family member feels safe, comfortable, and loved until you return home.
“Jahzah is amazing! She provided regular updates with the cutest photos, which gave me a piece of mine while I was away. My dog was clearly happy and well cared for. I will definitely take my dog back to her. I felt like my dog was truly on vacation as well! :)”

“Regan did an excellent job sitting and caring for our pups. Very respectful, well mannered and a loving and caring person to care for your fur babies. Very pleased with communication, updates and pictures as well. We will definitely choose Regan again.”

About: Your fur babies deserve the royal treatment, which is exactly what they get with me! I have hands-on experience working as a Veterinary Tech, with my roots going all the way back to sudsing up pups as a bather and kennel tech. I even built my own boarding haven, Elsie’s Boarding and Spa, in loving memory of my late partner Justin and my sweet rescue pup, Elsie. When your pets are with me, you can relax knowing they’re safe, spoiled, and loved like family. My daily schedule is dedicated to pet care, giving me plenty of availability outside of my children's school drop-off and pick-up hours. Because of this routine, I can offer consistent check-ins, daytime visits, and flexible drop-off or pick-up windows to easily fit your needs. With years of hands-on experience in veterinary care and animal wellness, pet safety is always my highest priority. I have handled everything from routine bathing and coat care to assisting in surgical procedures. You can have complete peace of mind knowing your pet is in experienced, attentive, and loving hands.
“Heather was very nice and patient with my spoiled babies. I was a bit concern about them with their reaction to her large dogs. But she assured me they were ok and wouldn't be left alone with them. so that calmed my nerves . Heather was really nice. I book her again .”

About: I am experienced with training and caring for dogs, and have experience watching and caring for cats, rabbits, goats, horses, chickens, ducks, and various birds. I have experience caring for and grooming pets. I have a poodle, and afghan at home, and have experience grooming many breeds, including but not limited to retrievers, Pomeranians, schnauzers, doodles, and cats. I have a fenced yard, kennel dogs at night, and keep all food in sealed containers. I’m also capable of administering medication. I have been taking care of animals for over 25 years, and I love making them feel at home and loved. I am comfortable with all animals- please feel free to reach out if you have something other than a dog or cat!

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals for a very long time you can even say my whole life. I’ve raised cats, dogs, birds, chinchillas, even a chameleon from babies to adults. I’ve potty trained many puppies, taught them tricks, and even cared for pregnant mommas with puppies. Cats are more of my specialty though i’ve litter box trained them, taught them to walk on a leash, tamed feral cats/kittens. I also volunteer from time to time at the Acadiana Animal Aid shelter helping care for cats/dogs in need of homes. I’m currently working full-time. I work an 8 hour day normally from 8 am - 5 pm, my hours are flexible though. I also have a 1 hour lunch I can take. I’m completely free most weekends. I have a mostly fenced yard where my dog Huck loves to play, it is a little small but we make do with the space we have. My dog and cats gets fed twice a day morning/evening. If I’m caring for an animal in a clients home I can visit in the mornings/lunch/evenings depending on the care needed.
About: I've been a proud pet parent to several fur babies over the years and have always been the go-to helper for family and friends. I’ve also had the joy of fostering puppies through our local rescue. I truly believe our pets are family and understand the importance of treating them with that respect. I live in Abbeville but work in Broussard so I can be available in multiple areas! I work a typical 8 to 5 full-time Monday through Friday so deoending on your location depends on when I can do walks or check-ins. My schedule can be some what flexible at times if scheduled ahead of time. If boarding, we prefer dogs be crate trained while we are at work until we get to know them and see they are okay to be left loose in the house. I have a large yard, two dogs (inside) and a cat (outside). Our pups are trained to stay in the parameters of our yard and leashed trained as well. Their crates are available if they would like to sleep in them but aren't locked often unless staying in a place that requires them to be when we travel or we have other pets with us that may require them to be.
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Walroy
Jairo watched our 100+ lbs baby Kane when my husband and I had to go out off town fairly quickly. He was so quick to respond to my initial inquiry and promptly scheduled a meet a greet. This was Kane's first time staying with someone therefore my husband was a bit nervous at the idea. After the meet and greet he told me that he was at ease and that the interaction went great and I booked immediately. I'm sooooo happy we booked with Jairo! Kane had an absolutely ball and we received many updates, photos and videos. Thank you so much for caring for Kane and for being so interactive with him. We definitely will book again for any future trips. I highly recommend booking with Jairo!

Maggie loved her time with Havi and her pack! We knew she was in great hands and got daily updates. Maggie had tons of fun playing and exploring with her dogs. Havi was also super flexible with drop off and pick up which made our travel a lot easier! We’ll definitely book again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Walroy home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Walroy.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Walroy sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in LA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
