“This was our first time booking with Susan but it definitely won't be the last. She took care of our fur baby like she was her own. She gave her plenty of outside time and even gave her special treats to ensure she would eat. She also sent us daily updates with pictures so we could enjoy our trip knowing our dog was well cared for. We can't thank Susan enough. We'll be a repeat customer as long as she'll let us.”

“Tamara did an amazing job taking care of Rico. I was very nervous, when I had to leave him, but she constantly informed me of how he was doing, and took plenty of pictures. I had a great trip , and didn’t have to worry about how Rico was doing. I recommend Tamara 100%”

“Tenashia was super sweet and cared for my little guy super well! I was nervous to board him the first time but the photos and updates put my mind at ease! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to book.”

About: I recently moved to Lafayette and do not live with any animals currently, but I grew up with cats/dogs my entire life and would love help out while I finish my degree. All my school is online so I am very flexible with my schedule and will also work nights/weekends. I’m currently full time online in school so I am very open and flexible to take care of any pets at anytime, including nights/weekends. I make sure to carefully read the instructions from the client and ensure I am doing everything that is asked. If we need to meet before hand, I am more than willing to do that as well, but I have been around animals my entire life and have never had any issues.

About: One of my favorite times of the day is the quiet morning walks with my two pups. Besides my own fuzzy babies, I have experience fostering many types of dogs and cats throughout the years. In college I worked for a pet sitting service. I am also CPR certified for cats, dogs, and humans alike. Rest assure your pets will be taken care of like my own when you are away. I am currently homeschooling my daughter, so early mornings and late afternoon/evenings will be when I am typically available for drop-ins and walks. My schedule is typically more flexible on weekends and holidays. The pups I board will have lots of attention from myself and my daughter throughout the day. I will making sure all doors and windows stay locked. My backyard is fully fenced in. Safety is always my number one priority. On walks, your dog(s) will always be leashed. They will get clean, fresh water at all time. I will clean up after your pets immediately, wash any pet-related dishes or bedding before you return.
“This was the best experience we have had so far on Rover! Lindsey was phenomenal at taking care of our extremely active dog. Received daily photos of my dog and constant communication about how his day went. Will be booking again!”

“Rana took great care of my baby over the weekend while I was out of town! She was attentive to Cher’s needs and communicated any concerns she had. I loved the pictures she sent and commentary of Cher’s stay :)”

About: I am experienced with training and caring for dogs, and have experience watching and caring for cats, rabbits, goats, horses, chickens, ducks, and various birds. I have experience caring for and grooming pets. I have a poodle, and afghan at home, and have experience grooming many breeds, including but not limited to retrievers, Pomeranians, schnauzers, doodles, and cats. I have a fenced yard, kennel dogs at night, and keep all food in sealed containers. I’m also capable of administering medication. I have been taking care of animals for over 25 years, and I love making them feel at home and loved. I am comfortable with all animals- please feel free to reach out if you have something other than a dog or cat!
About: I've been blessed to foster more than 20 dogs over the past couple of years. I know training basics, have a big backyard, and currently have two of my own dogs who love to play. I am currently not working so I am free the majority of the time. This allows there to be little to no crating required during the day. I have a large fenced in backyard for free play and zoomies. Inside I have dog beds and toys and a lap for cuddling. My two dogs are friendly and have had plenty of exposure to other dogs through my fostering.
“Jahzah is amazing! She provided regular updates with the cutest photos, which gave me a piece of mine while I was away. My dog was clearly happy and well cared for. I will definitely take my dog back to her. I felt like my dog was truly on vacation as well! :)”

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals for a very long time you can even say my whole life. I’ve raised cats, dogs, birds, chinchillas, even a chameleon from babies to adults. I’ve potty trained many puppies, taught them tricks, and even cared for pregnant mommas with puppies. Cats are more of my specialty though i’ve litter box trained them, taught them to walk on a leash, tamed feral cats/kittens. I also volunteer from time to time at the Acadiana Animal Aid shelter helping care for cats/dogs in need of homes. I’m currently working full-time. I work an 8 hour day normally from 8 am - 5 pm, my hours are flexible though. I also have a 1 hour lunch I can take. I’m completely free most weekends. I have a mostly fenced yard where my dog Huck loves to play, it is a little small but we make do with the space we have. My dog and cats gets fed twice a day morning/evening. If I’m caring for an animal in a clients home I can visit in the mornings/lunch/evenings depending on the care needed.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for a long time. I am always someone to count on to take care of your furbabies needs. I am currently a home school senior in high school ,so I am completely open to any of your pet needs throughout the day. I am available 7 days a week!! I am also located not even a minute away from a park where I like to go walk my dog.
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Billeaud
Karyn is an absolute GEM. I moved to Lafayette without knowing anyone and immediately needed a sitter for a week. I'm so glad I found Karyn! She is very sweet and understanding of dogs with different personalities. She worked with me to do a trial run one night to make me and my anxious dog feel more comfortable. She was super responsive and flexible when my flight home was cancelled and extended my trip another night. I will definitely be trusting her with my pup again, Mika seemed to have a great stay!

Shellie is the best!! I knew when I left my fur babies with her that they would be loved and well-cared for. Not only that but they had a blast because Shellie takes the time to play with them and get to know them. Thank you, Shellie! Luca and Ginger and I send you much love!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Billeaud home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Billeaud.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Billeaud sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in LA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
