Poet & animal worshipper
I began caring for dogs in 2018 when I became a volunteer at an animal shelter (Old Drum, Kansas City) and additionally at a wildlife rescue facility (Lakeside Nature Center, KC) where I performed medical aid in their hospital (turtles, bunnies, birds, etc.). Currently I volunteer at LuvinArms in Erie whenever possible, and of course care for/spoil my two rescue dogs, Nala and Mipso!

Maggie loved her time with Havi and her pack! We knew she was in great hands and got daily updates. Maggie had tons of fun playing and exploring with her dogs. Havi was also super flexible with drop off and pick up which made our travel a lot easier! We’ll definitely book again!

Havilah is an outstanding dog sitter. She takes wonderful care of Lottie (lots of exercise and snuggles), handles any issues that arise out of Lottie’s quirky personality with patience and understanding, is highly communicative, and overall very kind and flexible. I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone to watch over their dog.
Havi took great care of Pi. Our flight was delayed due to windy conditions and she was kind enough to allow us to pick him up way later than originally planned. Thanks again Havi for being so wonderful!
Havi, her husband and 2 pups were amazing with Pi. She sent me pictures and videos every day which I appreciated so much. She was also so flexible with the pick up time. Pi spent a little over 3 weeks with her and I think he misses his friends as they went on many adventures together. Thanks Havi for being such an amazing host to our pup!!!!
Havilah did an excellent job watching Lottie. She was very thoughtful in coordinating a meet and greet between her dogs and mine. She was very understanding of Lottie’s anxious quirks, resource guarding, etc., and made changes where necessary to help support her during her stay. She sent me lots of updates and photos while I was away. I would absolutely trust her to watch Lottie again, and really appreciate all the thoughtfulness and care she provided.

Schedule
I’m currently a graduate student and teach creative writing courses at CU. This means about 85% of my time is spent at home with my own two pups. During spring and fall semesters my schedule is pretty flexible (usually only leaving three-four hours at a time) and even more flexible in the summer.

Safety, trust & environment
Your dog has free range of our home and all furniture, unless it’s not preferred (our dogs lay on the couch and sleep in our bed). While there’s no fenced yard, there is a large open space/trail area right behind our place, along with a fenced dog park two minutes away. We love running and hiking!
Pets
A typical day
I provide gentle care, consistent exercise, and mental stimulation (‘find it’ games, puzzles, etc.) for your babies throughout the day. We love to stay active: hikes, runs/walks, and dog parks are regulars. Please let me know if there’s anything specific you’d like me to do (or not do) with them.
